Setting Short Term Goals

Hello All,

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing well. After a whole year I still struggle on a day-to-day basis; mostly with anxiety over things I can’t control. This week I have maintained my weight of 159 pounds. Although my goal this year is to lose one pound per week with a goal weight of 122 pounds by the end of the year. Thank you to everyone that wrote in with questions or comments. I hope you all will join my friends and I on SparkPeople.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE:

Short-term goals help you reach your long-term goals. I would like to challenge all of you to pick a long-term goal and several short-term goals for this year.

Example:

If your long-term goal is to lose weight, write down what you need to accomplish this. Drink more water, exercise 20 minutes per day, cut back or stop drinking soda ect... Those are just some ideas to help you reach your goal. When you are done hang this paper up where you will see it at least one time everyday.

Thank you to everyone for your support!

Kristi (aka Mrs.Honeycomb)

THANKS FOR YOUR LETTERS!

Dear Cheryl,

Thank you so much! Don't feel bad about what your five-year-old daughter is saying. My eight year old daughter has been saying the same things since she was five. If you want to be able to be more active with her, why don't you start by using the playtime as your cardio for the day! Over time it will become easier and easier and you will start to enjoy the time spent with her and hopefully be able to lose weight along the way.

A biggest loser club on the "Ellen Show” would be fun. I'll pass it along.

Best Regards,

Kristi

Dear B B,

I am so glad that my photos have helped open your eyes. I understand all the comments about the amusement parks etc... I have to be honest; exercising for the first few months was really painful in some areas of my body. But I look back now and am so grateful for not giving up. I also have a loving supportive husband, although the online support has also been very important for my success in keeping the weight off.

You can do it,

Kristi

Dear Tammy,

Dear Kris,

Thank you for the note...I too battle a depression with my general life when I feel that I am not doing my best. Rather than being jealous; why don't you join us and become a success story too! We would love to have you there and you can get some help from people that know what you are going through.

Good Luck,

Kristi

Dear Howcanilose,

I suggest setting some small, short-term goals that are attainable. Once you start achieving, you will have the confidence to battle your long-term goals.

Regards,

Kristi

Dear Twotime Loser,

Thank you for the note. I love the phrase "AH HA Moment.” Do you mind if I use it? I am glad that you have returned for round two instead of giving up. Good luck to you on your second time around.

Kristi

Dear Betty,

It sounds like you already have an event in mind and a goal. Do you have any type of home equipment like a treadmill you can use until the pool opens? Thank you for the *Hugs* and please let me know how you are doing.

*Hugs*

Kristi
