I have a couple of questions that I would like to ask you-I notice that you have different tennis on everyday I was wondering what you do with your shoes when you are done with them. I wear tennis all the time. I have a total of 4 pairs but to me that's alot. I have always dreamed how nice it would be to have a pair that you wore. I'm a 6 1/2 or 7. Also I was watching your Chrismas show on Friday and I saw the TV fall on the floor I thought it was a joke, because you were laughing so hard. I was wondering what you were going to do with the TV. I would like to buy it from you and pay to have it fixed if you would sell it to me. My college son would like a new TV for his dorm room abd I can't afford to buy him one.

I was in the mist of getting our 2nd bedroom together. I had just positioned the TV when I thought it would be a good time to check out if it was the right angle to watch it, so, I turned it on. Guess what? You were on. A little girl sitting on a Steinway piano, telling you she wrote another of so many songs for you. So I thought, I would like to hear it. And I did. I saw you choking up and swallowing while she was playing and so did I. I couln't help it but I did shed some tears. That was some great stuff, I admire her for her creativeness. Seeing your reaction afterwards made me realize that inspiration has no age nor boundaries.
Usually your show aires while I am at work, but today was my day off; and for once I am glad I turned the TV on.

I've been having a very hard time with this proposition 8 thing... I am absolutely heartbroken, and as I think of what you and your beautiful bride are going through, I can't help but feel sad for everyone else going through the same thing in CA. I myself have been so lucky to have been raised in Canada, a country that embraces differences. I really thought the original approval was such a huge step for the US. Appparently not. How can a country make such rash decisions that affect so many people? I myself am not married, but certainly intend to be one day. I can not fathom the idea of someone telling me that I can not marry Sabrina. Or worse yet...tell me I can, then take it back a mere few months later. The last few days I just keep putting myself in your shoes, and all of the other people's shoes that are being affected by this. It brings tears to my eyes every time. I'm so very sorry. Chin up, though. You still have each other and as corny as it is, that's what matters most!

I'm a kiwi now living on the Gold Coast of Australia. We have only recently been lucky enough to get your show and now my lovely wife Janice and I watch you every day before we go to work.

We were married in a Civil Union wedding on the 4/6/07 in New Zealand, shortly after the Civil Union became law there. We had to fly back to NZ to get married and like you we had a sensitive small wedding with the closest of friends, but sadly our families couldn't come. We have been together 10 years and felt so thrilled for you and Portia getting married as we really understood the ache that goes with needing to be whole, accepted and acknowledged.

Strange how a piece of paper can really make the difference, but that legal acknowledgment of love and commitment it so important.

Two days ago your country made a profound statement by voting in Barack Obama and even in Australia we are celebrating and breathing a sigh of relief. However, I cannot believe your country can reverse the law on gay marriage in CA. You must feel sick right now over that, I feel sick for you and all other gay folk.

New Zealand is having elections tomorrow 7/11/08 and we will possibly loose our female priminister Helen Clarke whose Labour government brought in Civil Unions, just a couple of years ago. Janice and I may be in the same boat as you tomorrow as its possible if Labour looses the new conservative party (National) could reverse the Civil Union Bill.

You are probably aware that Australia doesn't have gay marriages, but we are working on it.

I hope you and Portia get a break to come and enjoy this amazing country. I don't know which state Portia is from, but you can tell her from me it was 29 degrees today, the surf was fantastic at Main Beach this morning and the whales were still visible from the surf club this arvo. The Miner birds are still as naughty as ever, the snakes are out and about and by the way my wife is also a vegemite addict. She had to have it the day we got married too.

Hey beautiful its me again, the Conservative Christian! The passing of Prop 8, which I did not support, is actually a victory in desguise. Let me explain. For years the bible has been misused by religion to promote hate and discrimination against the Jews, blacks, and women. And in each instance the truth of scripture eventally rose to the surface while the religious lies that hid behind it were publically proven to be guilty. The Southern Baptist Convention just admitted it's wrong in 1995 for thier "biblical" promotion of slavery. And the stain of their inhumnae acts played the most promintent role in sending racial relations in America to extreme lows. Even today we are still feeling the affects of the Southern Baptist's decision to promote FALSE religion. Well with gays it's no different. The majority who voted for Prop 8 were those who are either directly or indirectly influenced by the views from the pulpit. Unlike the original language of Scripture, the church would have you believe Sodom and Gomorrah's sin was homosexuality, or that "sodomite" or "synn of Sodom", is a synnonym for the Greek word "arsenkoitai". In other cases, the Christian elite would conviently gloss over certain scriptural details or take them completly out of their historical context to promote their powerful and aged anti-gay agenda. All of this is the air supporters of Prop 8 were breathing on Nov. 4th. when they filled out their ballots. And many of them clinged to these unbiblical tactis without pause, concern, or empathy for one of two reasons: 1 Their happiness was not at risk. 2 Questioning their church would have placed the burden of discrimination on them. As result you get the unloving, unscriptural, and unChrist-like legislation that is Prop 8, all fueled by FALSE religion! Prop 8's passing puts the guilt of the church front and center. And I hope this becomes an opportunity to bring to the surface all of the devasting lies, hypocracy, and inconsistent tactics that have been used by religion to misrepresent scripture throughout the ages against gays. I say let the battle begin. Cause this is only the beginning! It's time we put the false teachings of the church on trial!!

P.S. again I would love for you to read my response to Baptist Minister Mike Huckabee 's damaging and homophobic remarks earlier this year.

This was my very first time voting. I am 21 years old and I was excited. I knew it was history in the making already. I am very excited that Barack Obama won the presidency....very excited!! But I am furious about Prop 8. Some of my friends voted yes on it, and I truly understand that everyone has there own opinion. But my thing about it was people kept referring to the Bible when it came down to it. They kept saying, "Well God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" , and I understand that, but he also said, "Do not judge". I just feel that the people that firmly believe in the Bible who voted yes on Prop 8 are contradicting themselves. Even though you voted yes on Prop 8 because of your beliefs does not give you the right to judge. One of my friends said he voted yes because schools are teaching kids on how to be gay. I asked him, "What if you had kids and they asked 'Hey dad, why does my friend have two moms or two dads?' " He put me on hold, came back to the phone and said, "I'm just a firm believer in the Bible." And thats great that people are firm believers in the Bible, so am I, but I'm not going to judge people on who they love and who they want to be with. I was trying to explain my point of view on it. But I just think he didn't wanna to listen. Its just wrong. There are going to be gay people in the world reguardless of what other people think. If you are a women who love other women, then good for you. If you are a man who loves other men, then I applaude that. It was just so much going through my mind when it came to Prop 8 when seeing the commercials. And knowing that we who voted no failed kind of hurts.

My mother and I love your show and we love you. Tonight I was watching the news when I was shocked to hear that Gay Marriage was overturned in the state of CA. I instantly felt sorry for the voters who voted yes because they made a clear mistake. We are from CT and I just wanted to invite you to come here and get your license renewed because it passed again here. Also unrelated; my mother is a triple cancer survivor and she had breast cancer once, I just wanted to thank you for the entire month of October. I hope that you and Portia are feeling okay, our prayers our with you.

I just moved away from CA a couple of years ago but have been keeping up on all the issues, especially Prop 8 and I am SO upset and disappointed in the voters in CA. I wish you much strength, courage and happiness. No one can take that away from you and wish you a long life of love.

From Ohio, we haven't had much news on California's Prop 8. So, I just jumped on-line to hopefully see that it hadn't passed. I was so dis-heartened to see that it had. No matter what a bunch of bigoted voters said, you and Portia are and will always be married to each other. My hetereosexual family can not imagine why some people feel the need to tell others they are not equal. I believe that some of these supposed 'religious' people are some of the most bigoted, unfair and narrow-minded of people out there. I also wanted to tell you that you inspired myself and my wife of 2 years (and legal...gotta love MA) We worked together for years and finally secretly got together in 03. We played the whole secret game for a couple of months since she was one of my supervisors and we were not out, plus we were both young, I was 18 and she was 21. Then around that time I read your book and you were such an inspiration that we decided to come out at work and to our families. They were all very accepting of us, we were very grateful and lucky. Now we have been together for 5 years and legally married for 2 and are 6 months pregnant with our 1st child. We thank you again for all of your courage and inspiration and hope nothing but happiness and a life full of love for both you and Portia. Congrats.

What a beautiful couple! I've enjoyed you for many years, and loved Portia on Arrested Devlopment. As for the judgmental folks who were somehow on here to post (?), love knows no boundaries, and they must be very sad individuals to come here to post their negativity. I am a straight woman who was in a hideous marriage for 10 years and has been divorced for 15, so I am happy and envious of those who can make it work, regardless of their orientation! Love is the answer...:-) The week of your wedding, my husband,Charlie & I shared in unique celebrations of our two dear friends, Diana & Cathy.
On Thursday night we shared in their Civil Union in NH, Friday morning they drove to MA and were married,Friday night they hired a cruise boat and invited about 60 of their close friends to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their committment to each other. Wow..we should all be so lucky.
Cathy & Diana have a relationship we all wish we had. Charlie & I have been together 4 yrs and married 2. To witness a couple that have stayed together, inspite of "the system", and finally they are legally being allowed to share more of the benefits of being together, this is good. We are hoping that in the near future, they will be allowed to 'marry' in their home state of NH.
So,now, they are "civil unioned" in NH, "married" in MA and have celebrated their 25th anniversary...What a week it was!!!
About two weeks after their celebrations, we had them over for lobster dinner and we gave them a copy of People magazine which had pictures of your wedding in it. We totally enjoyed seeing the joy of YOUR DAY.

I just had to congratulate you and Portia on your beautiful wedding, and honestly when I saw your wedding video I cried, not only because all weddings I cry-but the way you look at each other and the love that you can see is there is amazing. Even your commercial of what you were going to show on the video I cried at your reactions to seeing each other the first time to walk down the aisle. May your love continue to grow and keep each other smiling as much as you are now. I have been married for 5 years now and I love my husband the same and as much as I did the day we got married. Your feelings for each other are an inspiration for people to find that kind of happiness. May God bless your life together and will someone please legalize gay marriage in every state-it should be equal rights for all- this is America. I watch your show every day since I am now a stay at home Mom now-love it and your Momma is adorable-show her dance sometime with you-also loved the golf cart-just married-that was awesome.
