I have been a fan of yours since you first came out doing stand up comedy, I think you are exactly who you are, being in front of the camera doesn't change you, these are some gorgeous photos, god I think the photographer, although graced with two very photogenic people, is a really awesome photograher, and the black and whites are super. I have been watching your show now for quite some time and I am sure you are very frustrated at not getting George Clooney on your show.

I have an alternative for you. My brother has always looked like George Clooney. I have tried to attach a picture but have been unsuccessful

Well, I think that if you were to have my brother on your show, not only would you have a great look alike, but also, he would return your calls, and would definitely not turn you down. In addition, my brother, Hugh Comerford is an NLP practitioner and owns his own company in which he not only trains people to become practitioners, but also helps many people with fears, phobias, addictions, etc. You can check out his work on at www.nlpworks.com. As you will see there is an article in Psychology Today about NLP. Let me start by saying that you and Portia are beautiful together. It makes me smile to see such love and happiness. I am sorry about Prop 8. I am a hetrosexual female, but feel in my heart of hearts that no matter what your gender, color, religion, or anything that makes you different from me, you should be able to express your love in the ultimate show of commitment. Regardless of what others may say, think or do, you two are joined together in your hearts and that is more powerful than anything else.
I love your show! I just had surgery done and was laid up for two weeks. I watched your show everyday and it was the one thing that made me laugh and smile! I now DVR it so I dont miss a thing!!!

I am not gay, but I believe that if you find love with someone, regardless of gender, then that is a personal choice and whom are we to judge? There is only one judge in the end, and if he is what I was raised to believe, he is rejoicing in your love too?

We live in America...remember there is a right of the people.."FREEDOM OF SPEECH". I may say what I please as may you, Ellen, or anyone else. I didn't slaunder(sp) her I just said I was completely against gay marriage...it is only wrong if we call them names which I did not do. Another thing, to anyone who says Jesus Christ is telling me to "shut up" you apparently do not know Jesus very well. He doesn't tell us to shut up for voicing our opinions. It is a right of the people and as long as that is a right I intend to voice my opinion same as anyone else.

I do not understand what business or concern same sex marriage is to others. Why does anyone care? Do people have nothing better to do, than to inflict their beliefs on others? It is not our job to judge,that comes later by the big guy. I think everyone should take care of themselves and their families and not waste so much energy on something that has nothing to do with them. Everyone that spent anytime getting prop 8 to pass, should try spending their time in more productive and helpful ways. You get so much more back with positive gestures. Heterosexual me

Hey Ellen..Today I woke up to get ready for work with a little chip on my shoulder. I live in California and I had HIGH hopes for a victory on our NO on 8 campaign. Last night I joined a few other people/friends to stand near the polls with our NO on 8 signs to try and sway maybe the undecided and put a face with the vote. A woman was walking towards us and we greeted her with smiles and "please vote NO on 8"..She stoped in her tracks with a dumbfounded look of surprise on her face..we moved off the side walk so she could pass and she then looked around for an alternate route.. If she believes in her YES vote then she should be proud of her choice instead of the ashamed impression she gave us. That was the only negative response we received but I am still shocked. I debated this matter with my highly religious family whom all voted YES on 8 at the polls but I feel like I have to keep making my voice present regardless of the outcome and our gay community needs to talk about this issue and have open friendly communications regardless of the negativity that may come our way. I will continue to move forward and help move towards equality. I live some what of a double life..all of my friends and family know that I am gay but I have always kept my personal and professional life separate. After this overwhelming slap in the face of YES votes with the inclusion of my family I am more motivated to get more involved and stand up for my rights!! Tears have fallen but I know our community will turn a negative into a positive and use this to fuel the engines and move full steam ahead! Ellen everyone loves and respects you for the person that you are and the world is a better place with you in it!! Thank you for not only being a role model but for putting a smile on my face day after day! I wish you and Portia the best! Equality for all! No on Prop 8 and congrats to President Obama!

As our nation rejoices the announcement of our new president and a "new America" I am filled today with anger, frustration and a heavy heart at the pending legislation of discrimination in Florida, Arizona and California. In a day when millions of people can stand together and elect an Africa-American man; seeing beyond the color of his skin and a blind eye to race, it would seem we have all moved beyond racism and toward acceptance. But on the same day, and by those same people that looked beyond prejudice and claimed unity, over 5 million people in California voted yes on Prop 8. In Arizona over 1 million people voted yes on Prop 102, and in Florida over 4 million people voted yes on Amendment 2 all to ban same sex marriage. How can 10 million people look at my loving, 13 year relationship, and 2 year marriage and say that "the institution of marriage is between only a man and a woman"? How can it be that I am "immoral" for my choice and that "marriage is for the sole purpose of procreation and the continuation of the species"? How can your deepest love for Portia be "threatening" or lead to "legalized incest, bestial marriage, or polygamy"?
As proud as I am today of America's choice for president I am equally embarrassed by America's ignorance, intolerance, and blatant discrimination. Today we may have moved away from racism but in our movement have we simply changed the target of our intolerance? Thank you for all the good work you do without boundaries.

Are we still in America - the land of "freedom". Religion is taken out of politics, out of schools, children can't pray in schools, why are they making homosexuality a religious argument? I didn't think that Politics was about religion, and if it was who's religion, who's belief? This is America, you can kill an unborn child but you can not marry a person you love, respect and want to share your life with. Each and every couple in the United States whether heterosexual or homosexual have his and her own religious beliefs and abide by them to be respected by all. What you and Portia believe should only be "respected" by every other person out there. It is your right, your "freedom". Are homosexuals banned from their personal "freedom" their personal "choices" in life, all because of love, a special gift that was given NOT from the Politicians but only from God himself. God loves each that loves the other, treat everyone as you would want to be treated, love everyone as you would want to be loved. I am a heterosexual, married mother, and I believe there is a special someone out there for everyone, homosexual or heterosexual - there really isn't a difference - it is just plain old "love".

I am so sorry that prop 8 didn't go your way Ellen. I am a straight woman, but don't understand why people have such issue with gays being married. As long as you are a law abiding, tax paying citizen you should have the same rights as myself. Lets focus on those here illegally and not speaking the language of the US, terrorism, economy, big business, etc. Money would be better spent on these issues rather than forming judgement on those different from ourselves.

Living in a country that has legalized gay marriage (Canada), it is hard for me to believe that there are still people in the world who can't accept that gays and lesbians love and commit just like the rest of us. Canada is certainly not falling apart at the seams because people of the the same sex are legally married nor does it negate a traditional marriage. This is a matter of equality and fairness. Guess what. Not everyone believes what you do. There isn't one truth. And frankly I am incensed that there seems to be a sizable group in our country who thinks it's their business to limit the rights of others.

I'm straight and I could not be more certain that no one's marriage has any effect whatsoever on the sanctity of my own. I've never heard anything more ridiculous - I should be against two women or two men marrying because somehow it takes something away from me? How exactly?

Why do we think it's okay that some people just don't get the same rights as others?

And please don't use Jesus because his message was about love, inclusion, and ministry to those cast out.

I think that is is rediculous that the government even gets involved in this... People in a free country are promised the right to persuit of happiness... so that means people should marry who they choose... why do you care if two people get married or not... why is it even that big of a deal? I do not believe it is a sin to be gay... but why does anyone even care whether i believe that or not...

this country should worry about more important things than two autonomous people falling in love and making a commitment...

The other day when you had on the young lady who was doing the dancing and exercising at the same time was wonderful. CONGRATS!! You both look beautiful and happy. When my 9 year old daughter, Tabitha, heard you were getting married, she told her bus driver that she wanted to sing at your wedding. The bus driver said it is not God's plan for two women to marry- only men and women- it is in the bible. She goes to catholic school so it is tricky to explain certain things but I just told her people have different opinions and we need to respect each others feelings. There are alot of people who will give you a hard time in life so just smile and ignore!!!

I am sooooo HAPPY for them and wish more people could find the kind of LOVE that it is obvious that the have for each other.
