I don't watch too much television but I heard such great things about your show. I watched it today (with Faith Hill and the great pictures of you in the city!) and I loved it. Wow, I cant believe I am actually kind of writing to my hero. So my name's Angele and Im 15 years old. I would have written you a letter to the show but I cant do that because Im not 18 yet and I would need a parent to write what I want to say or something like that...the only problem is that my parents dont know I'm gay. Ellen, this is one of the hardest things I've had to deal with because Im scared of people judging me before they even meet me, I'm scared of seeing the disappointment in my mother's eyes. Our stories are very much the same with my growing up. When I watched your interview I swear I cry everytime just because of the courage you have to stand up. You are such an inspiration to me! I was wondering if you could email me because I really dont know what I should do, why is it so hard to come out? Do you have any advice? Thanks for having the courage to do what you did! Hello Ellen, Me(Iris and my life partner for 15 years) want to wish you and Portia the best of everything. FINALLY Calif got it right and you both could not have gotten it at a better time. Me(Iris and my life partner-Pat) have been together for 15 years and it has been the best so far. Although she is the first it will be my last. I was watching your show with my husband this week and when I told him you are 50, he was in shock, he thought you were in your mid 30's!
