You talked about one of your cats, and you showed a picture too. Well I have a cat that (I swear), looks identical to yours!! Really! The faces are so much alike, you would almost think they were the same cat. I always thought she was a "Orange Tabby". Is this the same cat you decribed as more dog-like than cat-like? I have never heard of such a breed, but for 11 yrs. mine has been WAY dog-like. I always joked and said her "daddy" was a dog. Ha! Ha! She fetches, rolls-over, lays down, and she will even close her eyes on command when I tell her to go to sleep! She is so NOT cat-like I can't tell you. So you have to tell me the breed of cat yours is so I can research this more. A friend of my husband's came over not to long ago, and the first words out of his mouth was hae you have a
------? That word was the same one you used to discribe your cat! I was beside myself. Can you imangine, I have went 11 yrs. not knowing why my "Peaches" acted so much like a dog in a cats body! I had begun to wonder if she wasn't a dead relative, or friend had come back. I would love to take a picture or a video to show you I'm not crazy, but I can't afford fancy things like a digital camera or video recorder. Her markings which are completly even on both sides( like she is an ink-blotch test) are So Awsome and I really want you to see just how much they do mirror each other. it's way cool!! I'm not one of those 'Nuts' that are all into their pets as if they were a kid or something. This is just so bizzare I have to share!! If you could put up a picture of your cat, so I can prove to myself I'm not 'Nuts', I would really, really, really be so thankful!!

My husband and I are total animal freaks and have adopted and rescued a few. Please let me know how I can forward a picture of our 8 year old Golden Retriever, Boudreaux and 3 year old Sapphire a Boxer/Husky mix that was born competely blind. We have a house full of animals that all have some crazy sob story to tell and we love each and every one of them.
My husband is a die hard Saints fan and we were married wearing Saints black and gold. If you know of any type of incentive programs for those who are looking to move to New Orleans could you let me know where and how to contact them? My husband is currently a full time student and UNM and has tried several times to get into the UNM School of Pharmacy but has not been accepted. They take close to 3,000 applications and only accept a 100 students, it's tough and he is getting a little frustrated and disappointed, so we are exploring other options. New Orleans Tulane University being at the top of our choices of cities and schools but we need help!

hi ellen, the pictures of all the dogs were so cute. but they onlymade me miss my lady even more. she is a red bone hound that i adopted from the animal shelter here in st. augustine flordia. someone took her off the beach at vilano. well they didn't know that after she went for her run, that's her favorite thing is to run, run, run. she would go back to vilano motel where we live since i got her. she's been gone since august 4th o8. i've put flyers all over the place. drove up and down side streets looking praying and hoping to find her. still no luck. i love my lady. she has been my companion now for about two years. she's five now. i have ads on the internet as well as the flyers that i put up over and over. i go to the vilano beach every day on my way to work and after still looking for a sign of her. bigger stores won't let me put up flyers on their windows. that's sad that they won't help just a little to help someone find something that they love so much. i fon't sleep, i cry alot. and i send more time on my computer at night looking at ads than i ever have while owning one. i need help. i called the local news channel in jacksonviile. even emailed someone there named molly. she did email me back only to tell me she wished me well in my search. i guess that was something. at least she replied right? i'm not giving up on my search. i worry about my lady. i know that she is wondering when mommy is coming to get her to take she home. i take her to doggie day care here while i am at work. i don't ;eave her alone. of course it is extra expense on me for that. but i don't mind. i have lots and lots of pictures of my girl. can you help?

I was just wondering if you all are ever going to update your pet pics? If you need to hire someone to do this for you I am very available, since all I am able to do is watch your show, and play on the computer. My disability is not coming through as fast as I had hoped, so I would love to have something to do while I wait and hope it comes so I can afford to go to a doctor.

On Monday May 19/08 while watching your show, my 17 year four-legged kitty-kid passed.
She found me as a stray many years ago and decided that I was to be her mommy.
I'm still trying to cope with her loss.
My remaining 2 rescued cats do not understand my loss. Oddily, I am a dog person. (I live in an apartment and perfer large dogs..)

Dear Ellen, I have the same love for animals that you do!! I just visited the Rocky Ridge Refuge in Arkansas where you helped Janis with her rescued animals. I was very impressed with your work there and Janis is extremely grateful. But on a negative note I think you might want to know that the individuals that were offering to stock Lurches Barn with hay did not come through with their offer and this has really put Janis in a bind. The owners of "Scream" (8 wk. old kitten, May 4-11)("Touch me and you die!" attitude) should turn the photo into a poster and sell it...same idea as the mad baby bluebird. If the Devil had a cat, it would be "Scream". I hope the owners consider a kitty strait-jacket if he ever has to go to the vet or have anything done to him... otherwise, full body armour. He does have acertain unique charm. One of my "share" photos.

I am writing in response to your show when you shared your pets and thier photos. We have a special cat, he came into my life at an interesting time, I was having a very hard time with the sudden death of my brother, one late evening I desided to walk our woods and sit for awhile looking up at the perfect mountain,one that seems to smile back. The last thing I said as I looked up at the mountain was help me through this hard time, please send me an angel." I walked back to our little log cabin,started doing dishes and no more than 5 minuets my husband says through the screen porch door, "Honey?..theres a cat out here,where could it of come from"? (being that we are on 52 acres of woodland and a 400 acre preserved lake around us. He was skin and bones, an orange and white cat, the best thing?...his markings show perfect wings on his back. We have had him ten years now, he goes for row boat rides with us and truly is an angel,His name is "Charlie". and now needs a diet. You showed your cat Charlie...thought I would share mine. wanted to send his picture but not sure it went.

I have a hummingbird nest. This is the third spring. I would like to send you some pictures of last years babies, yes she had two, this year only one. Let me start by saying that this is not a joke.

My other half Louie and myself take in homelsee dogs, we have at this time 30 plus kids (dogs) that need a home. I am not looking for hand outs or donations from anyone.

What I do need is to find homes for these kids. We have mostly mixed breeds of various sizes.

We were doing O.K. with feeding them all untill last year. Louie was fired from his job after being accused of a murder that he did not commit. He is now working with a new company but is not yet making any money (Realestate market is not good now). Seems like one thing after another since then.

If you or any of your viewers have any sugestions, PLEASE let me know.

I am tring to send you pics of my cat. He was rescued from Reno out of a debrie box. He had frost bitten ears and gan green of the tail. He lost the tips of his ears and 3 quarters of his tail. Max the guy who found him is allergic to cats but took him in anyway.He has a wife named Jennifer and two daughters Drew and Kate, who helped nurse Yedi back to health after they took him to the vet, When Yedi was well enough for travel they had to sneak him across the border. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's a secret. Now he's mine.

Re: Halo Cat Food - I was shopping at Petco when your voice came over the loudspeaking endorsing Halo Pet Food, so I picked up a can ($1.29) for my cat, Khaki. He hated it. It looked like vomit. Ugh. No wonder he didn't like it. Do your pets honestly like this stuff? We were very disappointed.

You are the Best Show Host I have ever had the priviledge to watch and listen to!
You are entertaining, caring, kind, compassionate, interested in the welfare of people and animals and you have a wonderful warped sense of humour!
I love cats! I have 5. 4 females, 1 male. I live in the country with my husband. We rescue cats. They visit our yard and do not want to leave. Last year we had a total of 9 cats. 4 of ours, the rest feral.
Charlie, our neutered marmalade tabby was one of them. This is one story.
Charlie watched out for and nurtured 3 female kittens. This took place last year from July until October. I think he may have been the step-brother of the kittens. Their mama cat was killed last July. That is when Charlie took on his duties as care-giver. He played with them, he groomed them, he taught them to hunt, he brought them food. He slept in the same basket with them. He also slept in the house. The 3 kittens would look through the window and meow for him.
I have pictures of the 4 of them in one basket.
I was able to capture them in October and transport them to a no kill Cat Rescue Facilty.
We noticed grief and sadness on Charlies face for a few days after those sweet kittens, Lily, Pansy and Rose were given the chance for a new life.
Even as I write, the tears stream down my face.
I miss them.
We love our cats, Pita, Misa, Moki, Snoops and Charlie.
I do not leave food outside anymore. Charlie has marked his territory! No more cats, no more skunks. If I could I would care for the skunks as well!
