First off I think you are absolutley terrific! My daughter and I watch you all the time. I have a pic of our dog that my daughter grew up with but she had to go to doggy Heaven. This pic is a one of a kind and funny as all get out! Please tell me how to get it to you, I know you will love it.

And the auto flush toiletts, my kid has always been so scared of them. No matter how bad she had to go, if it was that kind of toilett she wouldn't go. She is 15 now 16 in December and still will not do her business on a auto flush toilet! LMAO!

Dear Ellen, These are our 4 legged kids. We are unable to have babies so, they ARE our BABIES! We raised Blue Heelers (Austrailian Cattle Dogs) for awhile. The momma is at the big ranch with my father-in-law, she is 14 and Matt in the photo's is the Daddy. Abby is one of the daughters that we kept. We neutered Matt and Abby and joined them with 2 kittys, Peanut and Baby Melvin. We call him Melvin after his momma, Mel, but, Peanut actually says "Melvin". She really annuciates his name. It is hillarious. We have tried to record her but, then she shuts up and wants to know what we are doing. Anyway, Blue Heelers are usually do NOT like cats. But, all of our's have been raised with cat's and love them. Our babies play together, will eat off of the same plate if you let them and snuggle so sweetly. When I don't feel well, which is most of the time, they won't leave my side. Especially, Matt. He is a worrier and takes good care of Mom. These are just a few of my favorite photos. I never hear you talk about pet birds. I Know that there are many issues pertaining to their keeping and husbandry. I have 2 budgies (small parakeets) and a parrotlet. (smallest Pacific parrot) They are very small but can be snuggly and helpful like a dog and play with your toes and sneak attack like a cat. My family doesn't mind when they visit and the landlord likes them as they are technically too small to do much damage. They require toys to chew on and to distract them from being naughty.

This pic of Carl(NASCAR's Carl Edward's) getting into the wine is one of those things we have to watch him for all the time. He is our 7 month old Pacific pattotlet and very much a daddy's boy. Wine is not allowed but he wants everything he's not supposed to have.

I would love to post a picture also.

I have pets that all get along....humans could learn a lot from them.
I walk my two dogs several times each day and my cat "Marvin" walks with us. Marvin also curls up to my Maltese "Beau Ty" and licks him clean. Just yesterday Marvin, Beau Ty and my two guinea pigs played together in a plastic tub....yes, I said my cat and guinea pigs were together in a large plastic tub. To top it off, my neighbor informed me that Marvin the cat chased the neighbors dog down the street recently..... Marvin also catches mice, lizards and sad to say one rabbit. Marvin is a rescue cat and my Golden Retriever "Hennessey" is a recent rescue..they all get along very well..a sight to see. Love the show...my husband is recently retired and watches your show daily with me now..Happy Holidays...Rhonda

Ellen,On nov.9Th I collasped out in the parking lot after what was a severe pain in my head I was found by my fellow co-workers and the insisted that I go to the hospital,I don't remember much of what happened during the entire time I was in the ER,all I do know is that Ive been goign through tests prior to this happening,I had been suffering with severe headaches,my eye sight has worsened and well Ive been having many issues with ny back as well,,,through it all Ive had a huge support system with my family and friends,,,,but now Im unfortunately on disability and well with every day that goes by I get hit harder and harder with no good news from the specialists,,,they can't seem to put a name to this illness and so with that I am still pushing forward and must admit its been one hell of a few years for me.. I don't know how Ive manage to hold on too my place and my truck with all the money stuggles Ive been faced with but I guess its true what they say,,god only gives you what he thinks you can handle and god knows Ive handled it all,,,anyway what Im tryign to get at here is that you make my day every day I watch you. I watch you all the time...... even in the hospital I had the nurses stoppoing to watch while doing my vitals.. how funny is that when they hear the others start paging them and here they are in my room watching you...... guess that should tell you something Ellen your well loved even in hospitals.
Well now Im home until they figure out whats going on in my brain and god knows Im going crazy with boredum as I am not aloud to drive myself anywhere due to the illness,,, so for now I gonna try and keep pushing forward and pray that I get answers soon,,I would love if you would some day consider emailing me or something to let me know that you have read this and that perhaps someday whenever Im well enough I could come and see your show,,,Btw,,I have an awsome 15lb,orange tabby cat that keeps me company all the time and if I can find a way to send you a pic you will see the love of my life,,,,I can honestly say that my mom and my family and friends havent been able to support me financially but they certainly make up for it with their support and love,,and for that Im very greatful,,,Ps,,my birthday is coming up next week perhaps you could say Happy Birthday on your show that would be the best gift ever,,,Its Dec,18th,,Well thank you for always making me laugh when really Im crying inside with fear and frustration. You had Brian Williams on this morning and he was talking about his recued dog and had pictures and he commented on her ears...well I have a rescued terrior/Besinje mix that has to be the biggest ears on a dog I have ever seen! I have some great pics of him and our yorkie and would love to share them with you, but you need to tell me how I can upload them! You will love them no doubt. Oh and if you want to throw me a hint on how to get chosen for the 12 days of Christmas besides signing up that would be great too! ;-)

You talked about one of your cats, and you showed a picture too. Well I have a cat that (I swear), looks identical to yours!! Really! The faces are so much alike, you would almost think they were the same cat. I always thought she was a "Orange Tabby". Is this the same cat you decribed as more dog-like than cat-like? I have never heard of such a breed, but for 11 yrs. mine has been WAY dog-like. I always joked and said her "daddy" was a dog. Ha! Ha! She fetches, rolls-over, lays down, and she will even close her eyes on command when I tell her to go to sleep! She is so NOT cat-like I can't tell you. So you have to tell me the breed of cat yours is so I can research this more. A friend of my husband's came over not to long ago, and the first words out of his mouth was hae you have a
------? That word was the same one you used to discribe your cat! I was beside myself. Can you imangine, I have went 11 yrs. not knowing why my "Peaches" acted so much like a dog in a cats body! I had begun to wonder if she wasn't a dead relative, or friend had come back. I would love to take a picture or a video to show you I'm not crazy, but I can't afford fancy things like a digital camera or video recorder. Her markings which are completly even on both sides( like she is an ink-blotch test) are So Awsome and I really want you to see just how much they do mirror each other. it's way cool!! I'm not one of those 'Nuts' that are all into their pets as if they were a kid or something. This is just so bizzare I have to share!! If you could put up a picture of your cat, so I can prove to myself I'm not 'Nuts', I would really, really, really be so thankful!!

My husband and I are total animal freaks and have adopted and rescued a few. Please let me know how I can forward a picture of our 8 year old Golden Retriever, Boudreaux and 3 year old Sapphire a Boxer/Husky mix that was born competely blind. We have a house full of animals that all have some crazy sob story to tell and we love each and every one of them.
My husband is a die hard Saints fan and we were married wearing Saints black and gold. If you know of any type of incentive programs for those who are looking to move to New Orleans could you let me know where and how to contact them? My husband is currently a full time student and UNM and has tried several times to get into the UNM School of Pharmacy but has not been accepted. They take close to 3,000 applications and only accept a 100 students, it's tough and he is getting a little frustrated and disappointed, so we are exploring other options. New Orleans Tulane University being at the top of our choices of cities and schools but we need help!

hi ellen, the pictures of all the dogs were so cute. but they onlymade me miss my lady even more. she is a red bone hound that i adopted from the animal shelter here in st. augustine flordia. someone took her off the beach at vilano. well they didn't know that after she went for her run, that's her favorite thing is to run, run, run. she would go back to vilano motel where we live since i got her. she's been gone since august 4th o8. i've put flyers all over the place. drove up and down side streets looking praying and hoping to find her. still no luck. i love my lady. she has been my companion now for about two years. she's five now. i have ads on the internet as well as the flyers that i put up over and over. i go to the vilano beach every day on my way to work and after still looking for a sign of her. bigger stores won't let me put up flyers on their windows. that's sad that they won't help just a little to help someone find something that they love so much. i fon't sleep, i cry alot. and i send more time on my computer at night looking at ads than i ever have while owning one. i need help. i called the local news channel in jacksonviile. even emailed someone there named molly. she did email me back only to tell me she wished me well in my search. i guess that was something. at least she replied right? i'm not giving up on my search. i worry about my lady. i know that she is wondering when mommy is coming to get her to take she home. i take her to doggie day care here while i am at work. i don't ;eave her alone. of course it is extra expense on me for that. but i don't mind. i have lots and lots of pictures of my girl. can you help?

I was just wondering if you all are ever going to update your pet pics? If you need to hire someone to do this for you I am very available, since all I am able to do is watch your show, and play on the computer. My disability is not coming through as fast as I had hoped, so I would love to have something to do while I wait and hope it comes so I can afford to go to a doctor.

On Monday May 19/08 while watching your show, my 17 year four-legged kitty-kid passed.
She found me as a stray many years ago and decided that I was to be her mommy.
I'm still trying to cope with her loss.
My remaining 2 rescued cats do not understand my loss. Oddily, I am a dog person. (I live in an apartment and perfer large dogs..)

Dear Ellen, I have the same love for animals that you do!! I just visited the Rocky Ridge Refuge in Arkansas where you helped Janis with her rescued animals. I was very impressed with your work there and Janis is extremely grateful. But on a negative note I think you might want to know that the individuals that were offering to stock Lurches Barn with hay did not come through with their offer and this has really put Janis in a bind. The owners of "Scream" (8 wk. old kitten, May 4-11)("Touch me and you die!" attitude) should turn the photo into a poster and sell it...same idea as the mad baby bluebird. If the Devil had a cat, it would be "Scream". I hope the owners consider a kitty strait-jacket if he ever has to go to the vet or have anything done to him... otherwise, full body armour. He does have acertain unique charm. One of my "share" photos.

I am writing in response to your show when you shared your pets and thier photos. We have a special cat, he came into my life at an interesting time, I was having a very hard time with the sudden death of my brother, one late evening I desided to walk our woods and sit for awhile looking up at the perfect mountain,one that seems to smile back. The last thing I said as I looked up at the mountain was help me through this hard time, please send me an angel." I walked back to our little log cabin,started doing dishes and no more than 5 minuets my husband says through the screen porch door, "Honey?..theres a cat out here,where could it of come from"? (being that we are on 52 acres of woodland and a 400 acre preserved lake around us. He was skin and bones, an orange and white cat, the best thing?...his markings show perfect wings on his back. We have had him ten years now, he goes for row boat rides with us and truly is an angel,His name is "Charlie". and now needs a diet. You showed your cat Charlie...thought I would share mine. wanted to send his picture but not sure it went.

Let me start by saying that this is not a joke.

My other half Louie and myself take in homelsee dogs, we have at this time 30 plus kids (dogs) that need a home. I am not looking for hand outs or donations from anyone.

What I do need is to find homes for these kids. We have mostly mixed breeds of various sizes.

We were doing O.K. with feeding them all untill last year. Louie was fired from his job after being accused of a murder that he did not commit. He is now working with a new company but is not yet making any money (Realestate market is not good now). Seems like one thing after another since then.

If you or any of your viewers have any sugestions, PLEASE let me know.

I am tring to send you pics of my cat. He was rescued from Reno out of a debrie box. He had frost bitten ears and gan green of the tail. He lost the tips of his ears and 3 quarters of his tail. Max the guy who found him is allergic to cats but took him in anyway.He has a wife named Jennifer and two daughters Drew and Kate, who helped nurse Yedi back to health after they took him to the vet, When Yedi was well enough for travel they had to sneak him across the border. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's a secret. Now he's mine.

You are the Best Show Host I have ever had the priviledge to watch and listen to!
You are entertaining, caring, kind, compassionate, interested in the welfare of people and animals and you have a wonderful warped sense of humour!
I love cats! I have 5. 4 females, 1 male. I live in the country with my husband. We rescue cats. They visit our yard and do not want to leave. Last year we had a total of 9 cats. 4 of ours, the rest feral.
Charlie, our neutered marmalade tabby was one of them. This is one story.
Charlie watched out for and nurtured 3 female kittens. This took place last year from July until October. I think he may have been the step-brother of the kittens. Their mama cat was killed last July. That is when Charlie took on his duties as care-giver. He played with them, he groomed them, he taught them to hunt, he brought them food. He slept in the same basket with them. He also slept in the house. The 3 kittens would look through the window and meow for him.
I have pictures of the 4 of them in one basket.
I was able to capture them in October and transport them to a no kill Cat Rescue Facilty.
We noticed grief and sadness on Charlies face for a few days after those sweet kittens, Lily, Pansy and Rose were given the chance for a new life.
Even as I write, the tears stream down my face.
I miss them.
We love our cats, Pita, Misa, Moki, Snoops and Charlie.
I do not leave food outside anymore. Charlie has marked his territory! No more cats, no more skunks. If I could I would care for the skunks as well!

Ellen i just love your spirit and your show. Love the animal photos, but can't you post new and current ones every week? Don't ever get rid of any that were ever posted just keep adding more all the time. Last time i checked there were 40 some photos of the beloved animals. I would imagine there to be a lot more people sent in or at least i hope so. I love the fact that you are a animal lover and that you even have a photo site for them. Please use your celebrity status to further educate and teach people all animals are a living, breathing creature and they all need loving homes. Would you ever do a show about the BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY in Arizona? Please Ellen, do more shows for the animals. Many people care and when they see you trying to help people will respond. But one thing though, HOW DO PEOPLE GET THEIR PHOTOS ON THE WEB OR WHAT IS THE ADDRESS TO SEND SUCH LETTERS? Please mention this info on your show. ,well two year ago my back got really really bad i could even get out of bed when i did i was on morphine and i cried evry day many many times a day because i did not want to live any more like this my kids and husband could not get me to smile or barely even talk to them, i feel into a deep depression from pain. but you even made my daughter smile ,because you were the only one who could get me to smile all through those hard times

My friend Mary watches your show every day, and is an animal lover as yourself. Last year when she lost her home in New Hope, Pa she went on the road in search of a new life and a place to live. She drove across county with her Dog Midge, and her 3 cats Millie, Margaret, and Misty. On her adventure she lost 2 of her cats, one in Portland, and One in San Diego. It has been 1 year and she has been searching every day on the internet, Newspaper add and checking shelters daily. I was hoping you could show a picture of her cats on your show to suprise her for the holidays. She is lost with out knowing what may have happened to her babies. If her babies picture's were shown on your show on a pet segment this would truly give her somehope for the holidays.

I have been watching your show daily.
You are a very inspiring and giving person. I have been struggling over the past year because my husband of five years left me for another woman. You hear about this all of the time but never think that this will happen to you. Well, it happened to me and it destroyed me physically and mentally. We were so happy together and just out of the blue, he came home one day and said that he was no longer happy and wanted to be single. But he left me to be with this woman because within a couple of weeks after we separated, he became engaged to marry her. She also left her husband to be with my husband. This all occurred within one month and has really broken my heart. Two months after that, my stepfather, whom I loved so very much, passed away from lung cancer. It was sudden and such a shock because no one knew. He appeared to be very healthy and even the doctors didn't know. They had diagnosed it as the flu. Asbestos had coated the cancer in his lungs and made it undetectable. Everyone loved him so very much and he was the only grandfather that my children ever had. My real father was killed going to work one night when I was 6 months pregnant with my twins (my only children). We were so fortunate that several years after his death, my mother married my stepfather, who was just like my wonderful father and we grew to love him like our own father. He was such a kind and caring person and now he has passed on. When my husband left me, I didn't even have a job. I was so fortunate to find a great and exciting job with a furniture company here in High Point. Several months ago, we got the news that the company was closing. It closed sooner than we expected. I am writing you because I know how much you love animals and so do I.. I have a cat, Tom, who has been here for me through all of this and has always been my best friend. He is a big gray sweetheart and I don't know what I would have done without him. Animals seem to know when things are not right and are always there to comfort us. They are wonderful companions and when you need them most, they are always there. He is my inspiration and I thank God everyday for sending this cat to me. My husband and I rescued Tom when he was a kitten and when my husband left me, I would not let him have Tom. I hope that this will help inspire someone else who is going through what I am going through right now. Yes, I have been through a lot of therapy and counseling and the best therapy that I have had is my cat. I am still struggling each day financially and emotionally but it has made me a stronger person inside and has made me realize that God will never give anyone any more than they can handle. I am living proof of that. So if this can inspire someone to realize that life might not seem better right away but you can and will survive. Just have faith and believe in God and yourself and also believe in your pets. I also don't know what I would have done without the support and love of my family, friends, and his family. They have all been so wonderful and supportive through all of this. Ellen, thank you for being such an inspiring person. I am going to make it through this and one day you will get an email from me telling you how successful I have been. I recently have to let my car go back because I could no longer afford the payments on my own. But through all of this, something good has to come of it. I have a dream of opening my own animal rescue farm and helping animals who are in need of a loving and caring place to live. And somehow I am going to make that dream come true one day hopefully. I just wanted to let you know that each day I watch your show and each day I feel a little better about myself inside. I even dance around the house a little now! I do have a job as a waitress for now until I can get back on my feet but I hold my head up high because I am proud to be who I am and what I have accomplished so far. Watching your show makes each day a more positive and brighter day for me. Thank you so very much for your laughter, your smiles, and for making each day a new beginning for me.

i've been watching this week on what you eat for
lunch. yummy. here's one that you might like. it's kind of expensive, so when i have it i call
it my treat for having quit smoking.I can actually taste the food now.( use a regular
size plate , place some romain lettuce (enough)
to cover the plate. in the middle put a scoop of
smoked salmon. (about the size of the one of the
tuna salad you had on todays show (9-27-07) place
cherry tomatoes around the scoop of salom, then
place sliced cucumbers around the cherry tomatoes.
your option if you want more cherry tomatoes & cucumbers. take parmesan cheese (powdered or freshly grated and sprinkle to taste over smoked
salom. take a lemon and squeeze over smoked salom
or over whole salad to taste. if you try this i
hope that you will enjoy. i love the dancing on your show and dance with you. one day when you show the audience dancing you should show how they do their mouths. if you will notice everybody (me included) everybody is different but watch next time and everybody will be doing their mouths into
very funny expressions while dancing. are you ever going to visit gladys in austin tx. i know she doesn't fly,
but that would be a great treat meeting gladys and seeing the two of you together. ellen if you
didn't have a dime to your name you'd still be the richest person in the world.you would still make
