Thanks for all the wonderful comments. These Bischon brothers are a year apart in age and are inseparable. They are so very smart- know everyone by their name. They are affectionate and love to snuggle. They now have a 'sister" - a golden doodle. She keeps them in line. Trust me, the three of them keep ME very busy. Thanks, Ellen, for giving us the opportunity to share.

I have a rescued Bichon named Mac (after my computer). He is not too bright. I rescued him last December. I knew I was in trouble when the rescue league told me he was at the Deerfield, FL police department. Uh oh, what did he do already. He really is quite cute, but I'm sure he thinks his name is "Stupid". It's a word I use quite often when I talk to him. I've had to fence in my front yard because I'm physically impaired and couldn't keep running after him when he chased all the feral cats on my street. They just jump on top of the fence and laugh at him. His best friend is a black and white feral cat named Orie (short for Oreo). Don't know why this cat loves him, but we can't go for a walk without Orie coming with us and rubbing up and down against Mac. Mac is very perplexed. I'm still trying to get a good photo of them together. You'd like the odd couple.
Are you going to be coming to Florida in 2009? I'd love to see you live and in person.
Happiness and Peace to you and Portia in the New Year!

Dear Ellen...
I just sent an email wishing you happy 50th.
I saw the the best animal photos.
I know how much you love animals..have you ever thought of doing a show with just children and getting their opinion on how animals are treated and what we should all do to prevent this.
I love animals more then people...
I took care of stray cats...My father died on march 23,1996..two months after I was working in my bedroom and I heard this kitten crying..I looked out my window and saw my stray cat..ms.daisy with this adorable kitten..all creamy.I ran down stairs and she was gone.I had to leave on a vacation trip..when I came back I followed her to my surprise she had two more and I took them in...gave two away and kept the one I fell in love with..creamy one.
make this short..1998 living in montreal we had a winter ice storm...no power in house this one saturday night.
I stayed in my bedroom with jake..the cat and my dog..I was looking out my window and I said to my furry friend. I wonderif that was my father's star and he was taking care of me..well jake got off my chest walked across the room and sat on my father'ashes (bringing them to scotland.)
he has never gone near them since.
he is the love of my life with another stray I found..called JJ.since my mom passed away two years ago they keep me happy.
thank you for all the good things you do for the animals.

Hi Ellen,
These two Bichons are just adorable. I have a 5 year old Bichon named O'Malley. I remember when he was this age and he's just as cute now!
Have a very Merry Christmas and God Bless you for all the laughs you bring to me on a daily basis.
