Well, America, here we are. It's been a long road, and we're finally down to our top two contestants. There's the easygoing teenage country singer with the heart of gold, and... I'm sorry I forgot which one I was talking about.
Last night, Lauren and Scotty both did an incredible job, and I think it's safe to say that they are both in it to win it. In fact, I think they both deserve to win it. What I'm trying to say is: no matter what happens tonight, I'll be disappointed.
I couldn't believe Lauren sprained her vocal chord and had to be cleared by a doctor to sing. The amount of pressure these kids are under is incredible. I had to be cleared by a doctor just to watch it.

I'm so excited! Tonight we find out who makes it to the finale! I haven't been this nervous since my wedding night. We played Jenga.
All three of the contestants are extremely talented, and I like each of them for different reasons, but I think the standout is Haley.
Haley is unique. She has an amazing voice, and she's not like anyone else out there. I was hoping the judges would show her a little more love. It feels to me like she gets the least support. I can only imagine what it feels like for Haley. Even with all of that pressure, she continues to deliver amazing performances. That's gotta be hard. My hat's off to her. To be honest, it's off anyway. I don't want to mess up my hair.
Well, the countdown is on. Today another one's gone, and in two weeks it's all over. I'm really gonna miss Oprah.
"American Idol" was off the chain last night. The first round of songs were about inspiration, and I have to say I felt very inspired. I decided to pick up the harp. But Portia told me it was far too heavy.
Lady Gaga did a great job as mentor for the second half of the show. She would have been the mentor for the first half as well, but her egg stalled out on the freeway.
When the incredibly talented Casey Abrams was here, he stopped in front of the green screen to tape a funny fake infomercial. See even more backstage photos right here.

Last night, "Idol" was a real game-changer. I'm feeling so many different things; surprise, delight, tingles, lumbar support. Some of it might be my new massage chair.
Y'all know I've loved James from the beginning, but last night was the first time he didn't amaze me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking his picture down from my wall.
Haley blew me away. I thought her second song, "House of the Rising Sun," was the best performance of the night. And that's saying a lot, because after "Idol," I watched an episode of "Laverne and Shirley" and Cindy Williams was particularly good.
I can't believe we're already down to the final six. The dirty half-dozen. The six pack. Suddenly I'm thirsty.
James is still my favorite. I think he's gonna take it all -- the title, the hearts of the audience, Steven's scarf collection, all of it.
Haley did a great job as well. She really has something special. And I still love Casey. I'm glad they used the judges' save on him. I think he proved they made the right decision.
I liked Scotty McCreery singing "You've Got a Friend." From the looks he gives to the camera, I bet he's got a lot of friends.
