Timon is a fun, playful dog who'll sit nicely while you pet him! He started out life as a "bottle baby," lovingly cared for by a foster mom. Maybe that's when he learned to love people so much! Timon doesn't get along with cats, and is very picky about his dog friends.
Sonya is one of our office cats at Best Friends. While we enjoy her company, she would really love a forever home. She loves to curl up behind her officemates' computers while they type, and keep them company. Who knows? She might just be the muse you're looking for!
Chubbs loves to leave the last few bites of kibble in his bowl and then eat them out of your hand. Maybe he did that with his last person. Or maybe, since losing them because of their declining health, he needs the extra reassurance. Whatever the reason, his unique habit has endeared him to all at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
Do you want a laidback, sleepy cat who only wants to snuggle? Or do you need an office assistant who can make the workday fly by? Either way, Smokey Jo is simply perfect.
Whether running and playing all over the place or climbing up high to her favorite cubby to relax and unwind, Echo loves to explore. And even though those may sound like solitary activities, don't be fooled. Echo loves attention and petting. She's a really affectionate, attentive girl! Not one to shy away from the chance to make new friends, Echo might even meow a little "Hello!" to visitors.
He only has three legs, but that doesn't stop him from trying. Banjo has so many wonderful qualities, but he just doesn't seem to believe in himself. He has a shy, quiet, "please-take-care-of-me" kind of personality. And in fact, he does rely on the comfort of other dogs to help him feel safe and secure. Thank goodness being a "tri-paw" doesn't seem to bother him.
Piewacket loves all people, but craves a close, one-on-one relationship with someone special. Like the cat of the same name in the movie "Bell, Book and Candle," Piewacket wants to be your best friend and confidante. He's a good listener, and talker, too! And when you pet him, he'll push his head against you to ask for more attention. As long as he can be your buddy, this bright-eyed, friendly boy is also willing to share your love with other cats and people, including children.
This girl has a blazing spirit -- you can't help but be drawn to her!
Dancing Lady got her name because she dances around with her tail wagging until she comes close enough to take a treat or be leashed up by one of her friends. Once she's comfortable with you, Dancing Lady enjoys taking walks and will even paw your hand to ask for more petting. But she's shy with people she doesn't know.
Born in 2008, Chance has quite a repertoire of skills for a young cat. Chance is one of those cats who can fit right into any lifestyle. Maybe you prefer affectionate cats. Then Chance will purr a song of love for you. Or if you like to watch kitties play, throw a ping-pong ball out for her to bat around. She's a great toy chaser.
She's a feisty little lady who likes to play with stuffed animals, even ones that are as big or even bigger than she is! Maude enjoys belly rubs, and if you stop petting her, she'll roll over on her back and wiggle to ask for more. She also likes leash walks, lap time, and all kinds of food.
Bert is so particular about who he likes, he's asked for a special rule that applies just to him: he'd like to meet you before you take him home, just to make sure you're his type.
Babsy is a huge hit with all the visitors who come through Best Friends on tours. But she wonders why nobody takes her home.

Smokey Bones has Energizer Bunny energy coursing through his veins, and is curious about everything. He can make anything interesting -- running, jumping, a slightly moving finger -- the possibilities are endless!

Affectionate and curious, Patches is a mature girl who still looks and plays like a kitten. This very friendly, pretty lady loves people, other cats, playing with toys, and looking outside. She also enjoys as much attention and petting as she can get!
Lola Lu was born in November 2006 and still has a lot of puppy energy. Lola Lu loves to run around and play even though she has hip dysplasia. She used to have some difficulty when going up and down stairs, but now has no problem with stairs or any other surface. Actually, Lola Lu's favorite time of the day is when she gets to go on long walks. She thinks people are the best!
Christmas is one big, handsome snow tiger of a Siamese mix. At any given time, his eyes are only half open, making him look serene and mellow. All he needs is a good chin scratch and head rub, and he's content. In fact, he adores being petted and rubbed.
