Quote of the Day: Traditional Values

"I want to be clear and here are the values that I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated, and helping those in need. To me those are traditional values. That's what I stand for."

--Ellen

what bothers me about this in a nut's shell is this group is trying to influence an economic impact on a retailer, JC Penny, and an individual, Ellen DeGeneres..using prejudice, fear, intimidation...it's always the same tactic, just the situation and people change...bottom line: you don't screw with someone's ability to make a living, their ability to support their family, be it a salesperson in retail, or a paid for celebrity endorsement...maybe this group could work on the food pantries in their communities..maybe these mothers are in a different situation than most, but i know between the cost of gas and the cost of food...many are struggling to put dinner on the table..the costs just keep going up and up..so maybe this group could work on something positive and leave the working people alone.

Congratulations with JCP. I watch your show everyday, and me and my fiance think your the best. TO hell with what the "million moms" group thinks. I am not a big JCP shopper, but I used to work there and I know this is a good deal for both you and the company! So stay strong we love you ellen!!!

so i was visiting my mother today and my sister stopped in..and now she's going to shop at JC Penney too..i realized i need a new coffee maker and a tea kettle..i like the kitchen section at JC Penney..so i will purchase these items from there.

I haven't shopped at JC Penney in quite some time, but yesterday I thought I'd stop in and check it out. I bought Valentine's Day gifts for my family. I know Mother's with the mentality of this Million Mother group...they're mean. They're bullies. I think I will shop extra at JC Penney now.

AWOmen Sister!! Ellen, you can be my Spokesperson anytime, all-the-time. Love you!

Here's a thought for all the "Millions of Moms" and their Facebook page... How about taking and using all of your negative energies towards Ellen teaming up with JCPenny & turning your focus into something positive??? It's a crazy thought I know, but take a good look around...and you wonder why our children and the world we live in is filled with so much ignorance and hatred.

I'm a HUGE Ellen fan/supporter...A woman who has given so much, merely for the simplicity of helping those in need whom she's never even met. Either Ellen has heard, seen or read of their story and through her kindness, love and generousity does what she can to make their life better...Now that's a Facebook page worth promoting!!

blogs sucks

Hiya Ellen!!

I am so happy for you, and for JC Penny! I also think that moms play a very important role in the world. It is good to disagree with some of their opinions.

So excited to go and see the Ellen show! I might ask for priority seating, because it is important to sit down. :) (and I have an impacted hip - crack me up!)

A fan,
Lisa

OMG.........Ellen? Really? Do these idiots ever watch your show, see all the altruistic, compassionate, loving things you do for those less fortunate????????????? Damn them! Ellen, we LOVE you, and Penney's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellen You are a BEAUTIFUL person both inside and out, your fans know it ... the whole world knows it!!!
BTW, is there an official ELLEN DeGENERES fan club? I'd like to join it!!!

IT IS HARD ENOUGH IN TODAYS WORLD TO SURVIVE, AT LEAST IN MY PERSONAL SITUATION...WHAT HAPPENED TO BROTHERLY LOVE??? WHERE I SHOP AND WHO I AM NOW SEEMS TO GO HAND IN HAND...... REALLY AMERICA... I THOUGHT WHAT CONSTITUES WHO I AM IS THE ACTIONS I CHOOSE TO MAKE AND THE ONES I CHOOSE NOT TO MAKE...... IN THIS ECONOMY I CAN'T AFFORD TO SHOP ANYWHERE BUT DOLLAR TREE AND WALMART... AND SO FAR NO-ONE HAS STOPPED ME AT THE FRONT DOOR OF ANY STORE AND ASKED MY SEXUAL PREFERENCE BEFORE ALLOWING ME TO SPEND $ INSIDE. I BELIEVE A MILLION MOMS NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THEIR OWN MILLION KIDS AND WHAT VALUES THEY ARE BEING TAUGHT!!!! RIGHT BEHIND YOU ELLEN!!!

I feel I need to say something here. All too often I feel like people today get wrapped up in what we see as wrong with everyone else. We forget that it is our similarities that unite us and make us strong. We do not have to agree on every point with someone to appreciate that persons goodness. I believe that the most important value out there is to love our neighbor. I want my children to grow up with examples of this virtue around them. Ellen is a great example of this and has inspired many people to become better. It is not about our differences, if we let it become about this, we are a weak nation. we must make it about the places we can stand united. Family, love, kindness to others, respect for our fellow man, and honesty.
I do not have tv, but I used to clean for a lady who always had the Ellen show on. It was my favorite house to clean because I left feeling better about myself and my crummy situation. This is what matters, that we uplift and love one another. thank you Ellen, for setting a wonderful example and thank you JCPennys for stepping up to the plate! If I could, I would shop your store!

Ellen, not only do you believe in those values- you ACT in accordance with those values! Thank you, your spirit uplifts us all to BE and DO better, more! Love you!

Ellen

DIOS TE BENDIGA. GOD BLESS YOU.

I want to say that your show makes me so happy. It makes me start volunteering in my community :)
That group of People should be ashamed of their words, no matter your nationality, race or sexual preference the most important thing is what you believe in.

Ellen,
I was moved to tears today, as I am after watching many of your shows. You do so much, for so many! Thank you for being such a strong person. I'll bet YOUR Mama couldn't be more proud of you. I have taught Kindergarten for over 20 years... be kind to others, treat others fairly, be respectful... just a few values that I'm sure any Kindergarten classroom practices. Would these mothers want their children in a classroom that teaches otherwise? I hope they are ashamed of themselves. Do they realize what they are actually teaching their own children? It makes me sad to think about it. They owe you and JCP an apology. JCP is one of my favorite stores, and will continue to be. Thank you for handling this situation so graciously. You are a wonderful role model for all!

Ellen,
I am not a big JCP shopper, but I am about to become one, so I can unite with other viewers that see this as an opportunity to impact change and promote acceptance. More people should stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way they want to be treated, and helping those in need. Imagine what a different world this would be?

Ellen:

Everything you stand for, I stand for & many of your fans stand for these values as well. It is a sad state of affairs when any group feels the most threatening thing in our society today is a beautiful and intelligent spokeswoman promoting a legendary retail giant.

One million moms, protest child hunger or poverty or the dire situation many people are facing in this tough economy. Don't boycott, threat or bully a woman who does nothing but good within our society!

Shame on you all...one million morons!

Such simple down to earth values, generally taken for granted for and yet how many people do you know that honestly has them all? I try to everyday and some days I get them all and others not, but the best of me is always trying and if I'm disappointed at the days end, it's mostly with myself....e

Hey Ellen,
you are a wonderful person, very talented, funny and amazing. Dont ever let someone brings you down. You inspire millions of people because your REAL and different and thats a plus for you and thats why WE ALL LOVE YOU . (Im not really good in English.. sorry for the spelling errors... Im from Montreal, Canada. Ill continue in French hihihi).
Je T'aime gros gros gros.

P.S.

You should make underwears where its writtin: haters are my motivateurs. I would be the first person to wear it (Ill put them above my pants for a day (Superman style) for everyone to see them hihi).

Your biggest french fan,
xoxo
