Message from Ellen -- Week of February 13 - 17

It's been an exciting week. After I announced my partnership with JCPenney, lots of people had lots to say about it, including some people who had some not-so-nice things to say about it, and so I had something to say about it.

My favorite girls from the UK, Sophia Grace & Rosie were back, and just when I thought I had seen it all, they performed an original rap. I can't stop watching this.

Speaking of things that will get stuck in your head, the video of Kristen Bell's sloth meltdown got an auto-tune makeover. Our whole office has been singing this all week.

I also found some hilarious new autocorrect mistakes for my segment, "Clumsy Thumbsy." I've seen so many of these, now I read every text message 17 times before I hit send.

Next week I have some amazing people to talk to: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are here and my show is the only place you'll see them together. Plus, Kris and Bruce Jenner, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and who knows? Maybe I'll give away a car.

Oh yeah, I just put Diddy's name on one of the dressing rooms! I hope he doesn't change it before he gets here.

Hey Ellen, You have t check out the Anderson show aired 2-16-12. The first segment I would rather not comment on. But, the 2nd segment is why I would like for you to see. It pertains to a certain magazine/website I do not wish to mention!!! That is hindering a young man from aquiring employment. His name is Jason. I do not know this man nor have I ever met him. Yes, this man made a mistake in his past that he totally owns....... He did the work to get back in the game.... (LIFE) College educated I believe in production. I really think it will touch your heart strings. I know 4 sure you will be able to help him fulfill his dream. I also believe he & many others are being bullied in a different type of way. Yet, leaving Jason & others left with the same feelings of dispare. Just a concerned fellow humanbeing who wants to be a humandoing !!!! April Garcia.

Good Morning, Ellen...........say hi to Portia!! Happy belated Valentine's Day!! I had a busy day yesterday. My dog, Babe, had a spa day......she loved it and loved her truck ride. She weighs about 100 lbs and is possibley shepherd/rott cross with some breed of hounddog...she has a good sense of smell and loves to dig for the moles here in Colorado. We had adopted her in 2006. I surprised my hubby with a card and a small novel. He loves to read. I earned a free massage, so I went in for that and then went to the Safeway and picked up salad fixins' and steaks.......and we had a nice dinner at home. We had planned dinner out with friends, but Panda ended up with the flu, so we are taking a raincheck. I love it that you are the spokesperson for JC Penney.....I rec'd my first c/c from them. Congrats!! Maybe you can help me encourage them to carry more variety of really good medium-heavy weight jeans......need them for the (brrrr) days here in Colorado. LOL

Ellen, I also commented on the J. C. Penney controversy directly to J. C. Penney and as I explained to them; I occasionally shopped at the store, but when they partnered up with you I told them I would now make J. C. Penney my main source of shopping. I really like what they are now offering the consumer, however if they let you go as a representative, I would no longer shop there even if they were the only store that had what I wanted. Why do we still have so many closed-minded people in 2012??!

People who stand up for what they believe in make the world a better place to live in. You do so much good for so many people. When I can get there I will at least go to our local JCP and make a stand of my own. Don't ever back down or apologize. You rock!

In your topic of someone who needs help may I say that I have put in my name, as this past year has been the worst of my life and I feel I will not recover fully from it. But I want to mention that I would not even be here if it weren't for some amazing people. It is true that it takes a village to save a life. I have had a Social Worker, Case Manager, and most of all a psychiatric nurse who has come into my home weekly for a couple years now. She is an amazing human being and she understands me better than those who are close to me. The biggest thing is I am a huge animal lover and I lost my best pet ever in June/11 and because my life financially has taken such a negative turn I am at the mercy in every way of the government and they will not allow me to have a pet for no other reason than that is policy. I still have a pain in my soul at my loosing my Cassie (dog).
There is one person who I have to thank God for and to also let people know that she is so amazing, patient, and tries so hard to understand me as we are very different people. That is my sister Carroll who hooked me up with my nurse and who has been spending money to help me in so many ways and she can not afford it. Carroll is an incredible nurse who really cares about the human heart and she is there to help those she loves, in whatever way she can. Sometimes it is to just let a person sound off and not judge them. My sister and I are only 17 months apart and we have no other siblings, but I love her to death even though we may not always agree. I am a 66 year old handicapped single lady and all my life I have admired my sister. She loves people, she has a creative, inquisitive mind, a heart as big as the world and the patience of a saint. My life is basically mapped out so I can do nothing to help me but Ellen my sister over the last year has spent a fortune trying to help me. She really needs a new vehicle. She needs a Van because she needs to get a vehicle that can be fitted for a handicapped person who uses a scooter. It will need things like a ramp, way to secure the vehicle etc. Ellen in your generous way there is no one that deserves this more than my sister. If I were to win a lottery then I would do these things myself but that is no likely. Please I beg of you to consider helping her. My heart would be so full if there was some way to pay her back as she has been there for me.
I have been retired since age 55 and I just turned 66 on Ground Hog Day (Feb.2/12) and my sister is 17 months older than I and she is still working partly because she loves to help patients but also she needs the money, especially since the family burden (me) has had so much trouble. I would love to hear from you if you would consider my sister as a definite candidate who deserves whatever you can do to assist her life to be a little easier. She has more than earned it.
Carroll is a fan of yours Ellen because your humor and philanthropy of kindness is so fabulous. We both watch your show. I love you because of your humor and your love of animals as I get along with critters better than people. I beg of whoever takes care of your e-mails to please pass mine on to you and let you decide for yourself.

I envy your freedom to be able to have pets. I am not too old to not be able to love another animal. I really need it but somehow I have to deal with this lose in my life. Only you as a animal lover can understand where I am coming from. Your story posted about the testing being done on Chimpanzee's made me sick. No animal should be put through that type of situation. Truly they should be living in the wild where they belong. Boy this type of story makes me really question who is the quote "superior being" people! NOT! Look at what we humans do to one another. Animals do just what they need to do to survive. This is something that really brings out my Irish!!!!!!

Hello Ellen! I want to wish you and potia a very happy valentines day.My grandbaby and me watch you everyday. Her name is Harmony and she loves seeing you dance. Her dad, my only son died 1yr ago in a car crash. watching your show has put smiles on my face. We love you and your show. May you be blessed for all you do for people. If you lived closer, I would definetly be in your audience. I've sent several comments and I know you can't read all the mail you get.
