I have been sending money monthly to the ASPCA for well over a year now. I have also donated items for the animals though out the year. I adopted a a yorkie from a puppy mill here in Missouri. He was so matted he couldn't get his legs apart. It took a lot of clipping to get him to walk. He lived in a cage for 5 years. His name is Tyler and he is still learning. He couldn't even make the stairs. We had to teach him almost everything. He helped me get through the death of my beloved Scooter, yorkie, who I had for 16 years. She was the love of my life. I have buried my mom, dad, two brothers and a good friend all in a short time. I have another good friend who was just diagnosed with cancer. Life isn't fare most of the time but I have God in my life now and I keep going on. Keep up your good works. I love your show and watch every day. If I'm not home I tape it. God bless you and your family.

I just fostered my first dog. Thanks for all you do encouraging people to do something, anything to help animals. Every little bit helps. My foster dog is old and sweet. He will make someone very happy soon. I can't wait

Just wanted to say I signed up to walk a dog,and to take pics and post them for my homeless pals. I love dogs!!!! And feel a little better about myself for finding a way to finally help them out.

This is great having a part on the Ellen website to help animals. I have been volunteering in animal rescue for a few years and it is always good to know so many others care and want to get the word out to help as well!

Bless you for all your efforts on behalf of all the needy animals who suffer greatly during these tough economic times. Please remind all dog "rescuers" what SHOULD be obvious....that even in southern california dogs need a warm sheltered area during the winter nights. All too often these "rescued" dogs end up in a back yard untrained, unexercised, and unsocialized. It takes a lot more to rescue a dog than a fenced yard & 2 meals a day. I didnt sleep last night after waking to a 3 am coyote pack feasting on what was obviously a small dog left out all night. Dear lord, we can do better.

Ellen, My name Rochelle Maciel I have been a fan of your for many years and I see you help several families. This is my story in June 2011 I had a Stroke and in August 2011 I lost my husband and I am still waiting for my social security which I will not get till January. I have two children Noel 13 yrs and Melodia 11 yrs I have no financial means to give them a Christmas this year they are sad with the lost of their father. I can not give them their father back nor I cant give anything for Christmas because I had to pay for 3 car payments that I was going to loose if I did not pay. Were going to have move back to L.A. I cant afford it over here no more cause I no family here in Northern Ca. Thank you for listening Ellen GOD BLESS

Ellen one of my dreams was always to be able to buy a huge piece of land with tons of acres to build my own rescue/shelter and to even adopt animals from humane societies and other shelters to let animals at least live their lives with people who care for them even if some deem them "non-adoptable". I was going to school to be a Vet when I had my daughter and couldn't afford to continue, but every time I see a huge star like yourself using your resources to promote things like this it is so inspiring and reassuring that there are people that care and help other than just the "average joes" that are never heard of. Thank you!!!!!

hi i sent a e-mail about a month ago i just want to know if you got it thanks

Ellen: First let me say that I love you and your show. I just saw you donate $150,000 to Breast Cancer. I have to say that was a wonderful thing and thank you for your generousity. I do have to ask if you were aware that LAST MONTH was Alzheimer's Awareness Month? My wonderful team and I have raised almost $15,000 for this cause in our little ole town in Iowa. I am happy that Breast Cancer is getting so much attention - it is a horrible disease and I appreciate everyone supporting it. However, did you know that Alzheimer's is expectd to reach epidemic proportions by 2020? Did you know it was the only disease of the top 10 causes of death that has no effective treatment, no cure and no survivors? Did you know deaths for every major leading cause of death has dropped except Alzheimer's - it rose last year 66%. I am not writing to you to beg for money or even to tell you where to donate your money. I am only writing to make you aware of this horrible situation that goes unnoticed in this country and to ask you respectfully to please consider as some point looking into the Alzheimer's Association for one of your generous donations. Thank you Ellen for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Leora Darrah-Jarnagin
