Ellen, MO Reps did not VETO the bill, they FIXED the bill! SB 113 is better for dogs than Prop B ever was! Prop B was designed to push the H$U$ agenda of ending animal agriculture NOT to help animals! Their agenda is easy to see, why are so many people duked by them! WAKE UP!

My comment is not on the puppy mills or the guest. It is on Ellen's statement on the overturned Prop B. She stated that "the people had spoken with their votes" and wondered why it was overturned. I found that to be such an interesting remark as the people of Califonia had spoken in the voting of Proposition 8 and when it was overturned by a judge, she did not speak out about how peoples votes were tossed aside. Instead she celebrated. Guess it depends on how it affects you as to whether you will stand up for peoples votes.

Lori, I am not against putting irresponsible, back yard, mill breeders out of business, but this new law will not do that, people do not understand this. If we truly wanted to get this under control in the states and also abroad then lets put it all out on the table, here are some ideas.

1- How about HSUS quit importing dogs into the US, until we get this under control...

2- Why is not every dog/cat SPAYED/NEUTURED before they leave any rescue or shelter, they should have this done when they first arrive.

3- I micro chip every dog I own and every puppy that leaves my home-- this way I know if one of mine ends up in a shelter... Tell me WHY this is not a requirement in this new law??? Tell me WHY every shelter/rescue is not required to do this.. Then we know where the dogs are coming from that end up in shelters or back in shelters.

4- If they are truly for the better care of animals - WHY does it matter who has them, WHY should not every animal be cared for the same way??? WHY did they exclude themselves from this law???? This is one of my biggest problems with this law, is that certain people have to care for the animals while others do not!!!!
Do not tell me that there are not REALLY BAD shelters, rescues, show breeders-- I have seen them, I have seen dogs stacked one upon the other in crates in old wooden sheds, but they are exempt because they get money donated to them to care for these animals, this is bull!!!! I guess if I had millions donated to me, I can tell you I would have the nicest, fanciest facility, anyone would ever see, because I love my animals.

Trust me, I want rid of all the bad people whom treat animals horribly, but lets do it right, WHY can't we sit down at the table with excellent breeders, excellent vets, people whom truly are in it for the welfare of animals and work something out. I am sick of the ones that raise quantity instead of quality and sell sick puppies, I have had to deal with their poor judgement affecting me for years. I DO CALL THEM IN and am not ashamed of it and do not care if it is a dog, cat, horse, cattle, etc. If anyone puts an animal in a pen they should care for it!!!

The other thing that bothers me and it should any other person, is when have animals become MORE important than children????

Our world is donating more MONEY TO THE CARE OF ANIMALS, than it is all of these poor kids who have parents on welfare, living in the housing, getting FREE medical care, FREE FOOD while they are smoking dope and drinking alcohol all day!!! and guess who is paying for it??? The taxpayers.

I am sorry, I LOVE my animals, but my children come first and I am not ashamed to say it, although most people say they would love to be sent to the dog house at my home, it is nicer than most children live in.

It is not the fact of getting the bad people out of this business, it is about the way the law is written, it is not feasible for anyone to raise any puppy. There are many things in the law that is not written right, but HSUS says that is not the way it was to be taken, well lets write it right. Lets put in there that our newborns do no have to be kept under 83 degrees, because those of you who do not know, newborn puppies CAN NOT survive in that temperature. It does not say that newborns do not have to have access to outdoors. If you have a mother dog who has access to the outdoors during the cold winter months of 60 or below and the wind is blowing in on the puppies, sorry but now the puppies are either very sick or are dead. IS THIS HUMANE???? This law was not written by anyone whom cared about the true care of raising animals.

I live in Ontario and we have the same going on up here, and when I hear about this on the news I find it so discussing and just can't understand people at all. How could anyone do this to them and they look at you with there little innocent eyes, it just makes me so sad for them. We're always going to have this in the world as they stop one another one pops up.....so hateful people are towards animals.

I hope this does help the poor dogs that are coming from puppy mills & laws are enforced. The
pups are innocent but NOT the owners that breed!
Go to a shelter & get dog that needs a home.

I also read an article where Vick went to a high school to talk and one of the kids asked him if he didn't get caught would he still be doing it?(dog fighting)..Vick said probably!! I am so disappointed in learning you are a supporter of the Wayne Pacelle HSUS group. I am a life long lover of animals and I live in Missouri. We raise cattle, dogs and horses and am sick to my stomache of all the propaganda of the HSUS and can not believe you are also judging all farmers and kennel owners into one group. People have absolutely NO idea what it takes or entails to care for animals, I would invite anyone to come live with my family and walk our footsteps for just one month, it is a 24/7 job... If you do not take care of them, you should not own them. The information that Wayne Pacelle tried to pull over on the Missouri people, was not fair, it did not tell the whole story.

Tell me WHY HSUS puts less than 1% of its total billion dollar industry into the care of animals???

Tell me WHY HSUS does not operate a single shelter???

Tell me WHY HSUS keeps taking all of this money from true shelters and rescues that are needing money to help these animals???

The celebrities and people who do not even know me, have all but destroyed my business, a person who has a wonderful loving family of 7, just trying to make enough money to support my family and animals, on a farm that is a wonderful way to raise children. My children are not involved in gangs, drugs, alcohol, they have learned how to work hard and do it honestly. We teach them respect, morals, values and to treat people the way you want to be treated. Not to live on government money...

THANK YOU for having Wayne Pacelle on your show. The animals need Wayne and The HSUS. There isn't anything 'radical' about them; they are an animal rights/welfare organization.
The problem IS with RADICAL lobby groups like "The Center For Consumer Freedom" who makes tons of money from factory farms, restaurants, etc. They use their money and power to discredit-spread LIES-about groups like The HSUS and PETA. (even groups like "MADD") Some of the comments here come from propaganda spewed from the CCF and Rick Berman; do some research people-you are being duped!!
