My Thoughts on 'American Idol': The Last Auditions

ellen's thoughts
Well, the "American Idol" auditions are over, which means one thing... they'll finally stop showing the clip of that poor cameraman getting trampled by the guy doing a backflip.

It also means no more crazy costumes. I liked a lot of them. My favorite was the pirate outfit, but Steven Tyler always looks great.

For a second, I thought the man dressed as a Transformer was going to have a great voice. But then I realized something... he's dressed as a Transformer. The people in costumes never do very well. I don't think Carrie Underwood came to her first audition in a chicken suit.

It makes me nervous when the contestants tell a really sad story before they sing. I think if they show us a 3-minute taped piece about how their house burned down, they should get to go to Hollywood. If not, they should at least get to go on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Randy can say, "It was a little pitchy, dawg. But take a look at your new house!"

I think they found some really great singers this season. I can't wait to see them all in Hollywood Week. And I won't have to wait long, because it starts tonight!

Watch what Adam Lambert told Ellen about the new season.

Hi Ellen,
My husband was in a competition last weekend. He sings with The Morris Music Men, an awesome Barbershop chorus group. There were other Chorus groups there wearing costumes and I believe that is very distracting. If you have a voice like an angel let it be heard. You do not need all the extra. Have a great day and your show is very enjoyable. It makes me very happy. Beth

Wow! Great tihnikng! JK

Regarding Idol-Ellen, keep your eye on the young man who is I think 14? He is phenomenal and would be an asset to your label!

When is your last show. I can't wait.

Dear Ellen -I love your show.I watch you faithfully everyday. You are the kindest person on the Planet.Maybe you could help me.I need a car in the worst way. I have been without a car for going on three years now. I hate to ask a neighbor when I have to go to the grocery store etc. I am retired and disabled. Not to the point that I cannot drive. I feel so undeserving. I even called car lots and ask if they could donate a car that someone has brought in to exchange for a new car. They think I am nutso.
Please can you help me? Love to you and Poursha.
you two are a blessed couple.
Under His Wings,
Jeanne

Love you Ellen... YES I love Steven as well.... I also think that a costume is just that...A COSTUME but if it makes the show more entertaining, well, I STILL think a costume is just a costume... The only reason I watch now is Steven Tyler and HOPING that there is actually some fine singers still to come...I am a singer myself and would love to be entertained... but I am not holding my breath. A show built on public opinion at the end, really isn't the best judge of an educated outcome. Live, Love, Laugh... Peace.

Good grief Christopher!

Everyone has an opinion but if you have to be so graphic keep yours to yourself. I guess Ellen's phrase of "Be kind to one another" doesn't fit with you.
I wish everyone could have the positive outlook Ellen has.
Times are hard everywhere and everyone has a story. What Ellen does for others makes her and everyone else feel good. I am glad she has the means to share and the fact she wants to share means more than the money.
I will admit I miss Simon but I think this panel of judges is quite good. Steven Tyler shows compassion but is to the point. Jennifer Lopez has gotten a little better at saying "no" and the Dawg is the Dawg.
If you don't like American Idol, pick up your remote and find something else that will make you happy. If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.
Keep on keepin on Ellen and everyone else, do be kind to one another.

I think Stephen Tyler looks good and is pretty cool. So does my girlfriend. I am 60 years old and she just turned 18. I met her at a costume party. She was dressed as a hooker and I was Aunt Jemima. We have our own blog now and you can meet her there. We always have a lot of fun.

I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via
A' g e ' m i n 'g l e . C' o M .
a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends.. Just love it

Ellen, I have been an Aerosmith fan since 1975. Good or bad, I think Steven exist as a "rock star" 24/7. As someone who became a fan listening to the music and seeing the coolest human alive in poses only in magazines.......no MTV and such, That is how I used to believe he lived and thats how this fan wants him to live.
loved your comment though :)

Ellen, didn't you like the guy in the car suit? I wish the contestants could choose their own songs and not somgs elected for them, i.e., "Nat King Cole Week." or "Elton John Week."

Great Job today giving the car and cash to the family from Texas- You have a big heart Ellen and I appreciate how you lift people up and make us all laugh.

ellen is sincere...she doesn't talk trash because she doesn't have to...her show speaks for itself.....she admits Idol wasn't for her....the 3 judges they have now are great.I love this season...who needs a "meany?"....not necessary...The transformer costume was just that ...a costume which I have seen before...When will they learn ...it's the voice that gets attention ...not the outfit....I don't like the sob stories either because people vote for them because of that...they need to just stop with the drama!!!!!!

i usually dont agree with anything ellen says . but in this case i agree . i usually only see the high lights when i am out and about . but the transformers costume did catch my attention , a little weird . but it did make for a entertainment value . the sob stories . oh my god . thats just wrong . thiat is whay i dont watch tv much . my life was not the easiest , but i got over it and succeeded in life . what these people dont seem to realize no one had an ideal life . it just depends on the ability to deal with it , or hope someone feels bad for you . have a nice day.
