They're one of the breakout country music acts of the last year -- and they've known each other since birth! The siblings that make up The Band Perry are quickly emerging as the next great musicians to watch, and might soon have their first Grammy!
Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry always had a talent for music. While growing up in Mobile, Alabama they were constantly singing at home. When she was 15, Kimberly joined a band, and her brothers went along as roadies. Eventually, the brothers formed a duo that opened for her. In 2005, the three joined forces to create The Band Perry and went on the New Faces of Country tour.
After performing for a few years, they caught the attention of Bob Doyle, who manages Garth Brooks. He began working with them on a few songs and helped them get a deal with a new label, Republic Nashville. In November of 2009, they released their debut single, "Hip to My Heart." The following year, their self-titled debut album hit #4 on the Top 200 chart. Their hit single, "If I Die Young" went to #1.
In their first year, The Band Perry earned an ACM nomination, a CMA nomination, and three ACA nominations. Now they have one more to add to the list -- a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song!
