Adopt a Turkey This Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It's a time for families to come together and give thanks for what they're grateful... like the Saints lethal passing attack. That's right. I like football.

It's also a time for traditions. And this year I have a great new tradition for your family: adopt a turkey! For only $30 you can sponsor a turkey that's been rescued by Farm Sanctuary. So check out their website, and give some of our feathered friends something to be thankful for.

Hi Ellen, Happy Thanksgiving from Ireland.
I'm giving thanks that a children's christmas song I wrote is today ready for download on iTunes!

The good news is I'm not singing it!
Liz Madden and 25 beautiful children sing Happy Christmas Christmas Tree. All proceeds go to two children's charities in Ireland.

my friend lives down amish country and while driving a turkey(near death) hitched a ride we love turk to get his attention outside throw food and he follows he is TURK! he has gone missing and we are soooo afraid???!!! if he is spotted he is still a little pink in the feathers( halloween) he would go with anyone...oh my oh no run! turk come home soon turk please be careful!!! Thanks for your hospitality and a heart that is so big.. love is the answer!!!!! I hope everyone follows your example to be kind to each other everyday!! its the only way this world can fight the hate and save grace>>blessings are so many even though times are a bit hard so I am so lucky I can watch your show and laugh ..very funny! i love animals! Trust me our rescue shelter dog has cost me a fortune because he has "issues" but my commitment to him is unbreakable. Having said that i agree w/ the woman from CT who noted that in these tough times $30 could feed a family. when i first saw the sponsor a turkey i clicked on it thinking it would be a turkey dinner donation for a family that couldn't afford one. (sorry turkeys). and for that i would donate. i'm so lucky i can afford to feed my family.
love your show and the happiness it brings so many. just my sharing my thoughts.

Dear Ellen:

This is a great idea and just a suggestion...also contact P.E.T.A? Let me know if you need my help. It's time for us to stop the senseless slaughter of Turkeys for this holiday. Would you like for an alien from another planet to come to earth and eat you for their holiday of sorts! What goes around comes around. How about a cannibal from a distant land eat your child or family member? GET IT!!! This tradition has got to stop! Thanks Ellen!!!

Ellen, Please help!
I have been trying to get tickets to your December show for 3 months!! I have been watching the calender everyday! I even called and wast old that they would be available the first week of November! When I found out that they were not available then I called back and they told me that I had to follow you on twitter and Facebook now!!! AHHHH!!! PLEASE HELP! My mom loves your show and we have been through a lot just trying to give her something nice this year.

Honestly, Ellen love you, and I feel for the poor turkeys, but in this economy I can feed my whole family Thanksgiving dinner for $30.00 ! (not necessarily turkey!) Right now, People need help, too, and I'll bet a lot of people don't even have $30.00 extra to their name - so no disrespect intended, but why don't you just donate for some of the people who can't ?
