Hey, Everybody!

Happy Labor Day Weekend! Did you know that "Labor Day" got its name from the time Mrs. Washington gave birth to her first son Jethro under an apple tree? Look it up if you doubt me.

Fine. That's not why they call it Labor Day. But I do know that in one week I'll be kicking off season eight with not one... not two... not three... not four...

What was I talking about? Oh yeah -- our premiere on September 13th! Just a reminder that Justin Timberlake, Usher, Justin Beiber, Katy Perry and lots of other amazing artists are gonna be at my exclusive VMA after party! I'll be the first to talk to the winners -- and you know that at the VMAs anything can happen!

Set your TiVos for the VMAs next Sunday, and for my exclusive after party on Monday, September 13th! And tune in all premiere week, because Oscar winner Ben Affleck, Emmy winner Jane Lynch from "Glee," and the Nobel Prize-winning cast of "Jersey Shore" are all gonna be stopping by!

I have been pen pals with a gal from Australia for 65 yars we got each otheres name in the weekely reader that we got at school and have written every since. We went over last year for her Mum's 100th birthday and she just had her 101 birthday, and wish we could have been there. Would love to go see them but just can't aford it but we talke evey so oftn & I email her friend & she gives her the messages. Wish we would have kept our lstter when we were little can you imagine what fun tht would be to look back on. We are mpt om pir 70's and we still keep in contac. Just thought you might find this interesting.

Ellen, I can't believe it's season 8 (but you need to prepare for a lot more years. You're the Johnny Carson of day time). I've loved every second I've spent watching your show. Hi Ellen i can not wait for your new show coming up Monday, I wrote you last year in october about my grand-daughter that was very sick, thanks be to GOD that she have improve tremendously. We would like to come to the SHOW during the TWELVE days of xmas, but we can't afford to pay airline fees, but i would love to do that for her for a big xmas present. She had to learn to walk again and use her limbs, she has a shoulder and hip replacement at the age of 20. I introduced her to your show she thinks you AWESOME. LOVE YOU

Can't wait for season 8! Thankyou for bringing smiles and laughs to me,....always need that!! Am extremely low income so can't afford to come all that way, pay for a place to stay and buy tickets too, but will be watching on the tube (as usual). Would wish you luck but you already have lots of that so break a leg kiddo!!!

I am actually pretty sad now. My family does not have television anymore! What?!! I know, it's pretty ridiculous. So hopefully i can watch it at my friend's house.
