When facing-off against tennis sensation Melanie Oudin (and her 104 mph serves), Ellen needs all the help she can get -- that's why she's ready with her specialty tennis racquet! Now we know why DJ Tony suddenly "has plans" whenever Ellen asks him to play a game!

Our favorite cat, Smokey, is still hanging around the set! One of Ellen's staff members was on the stage and took this photo of Smokey lounging around -- apparently ready for Season 8 to begin in less than two weeks!
Before the show starts, Tony gets the music playing and the audience up and dancing. It's a good thing we roll the cameras, or we wouldn't have caught this incredible dancer. Check out his moves here!
Tennis sensation Melanie Oudin came to the show to talk to Ellen about her success at the US Open. Not satisfied with just a chat, Ellen opted to challenge her on the court (or in this case... the alley)! Then Queen Latifah and DJ Tony came out to join them.

Last night the best in the television industry were acknowledged at the Primetime Emmys. Congratulations to winners Eric Stonestreet, Jane Lynch (who will be on the show September 15), Jim Parsons, Neil Patrick Harris, and the entire cast and crew of "Modern Family," including nominated actors Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The awards are well-deserved! A special congrats to the amazing George Clooney. He's one of a kind.
Congratulations also go to nominees Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Chris Colfer and Lea Michelle.
Ellen can't wait to have all of the winners and nominees back on the show!
