The woman Cher Bradford who left a comment on this post is on trial for attempted murder of her son, Tanner. Tanner now lives with us along with his little dog that we were able to get by court order. This woman claims rape but no police report recorded it and it was between her and her boyfriend. She was infuriated at Tanner (15) because he wanted to come see his dad and me.. his step-mom. She hates us both. She is an alcoholic and a drug addict and soon will be a convicted felon. I cannot stand to see her boohoo to people online. Everything that has happened to her is her own doing. She had it all and threw it away when she took a .38 and shot her son through the arm and the chest. Her actions have left us 50 thousand or more in debt because of medical bills which she refuses to help pay. She will not pay court ordered child support or even take responsibility for her actions. We also watch you when we can.. WE have to work and go to school. Ellen, you always inspire a smile, which we need. It was horrid to see her post and know that she sits free while we live in fear of her terrible demented mind!

hey chely i saw you on ellen show wow i wish i can meet you in person yours truly RENEE BRUCE may be you can email me sometimes.

Thank you, Chely, for sharing your very personal story. I was in the closet for 45 years, and when I finally came out, my continuing journey was powered by the strength that comes with authenticity and honesty. Nearly my entire adult life was spent in the heartland of Oklahoma. I shed a tear as you told your story on the show today, and was brimming with pride and prayers for your continuing journey.

Much love,
Randy

You've found your true self now Chely Wright, I supposed. Human learning a lot from suffering that leading us become more concern other people's well-being & welfare. The feeling of rejecting that caused by group decision had promoted a false self inside you, now has gone. It's a role, isn't it? a role that sent by god to fulfil his will against irrational group behaviours. There's no evidence that Christ ever showed his diapproval to same sex love people, even though his disciple Paul made his personal comment.

People may criticise same sex love people haven't taken responsibility of reproduce, have you ever made this judgment? Think about over bililion negleted kids through out the world, how do you know they never given support for those children financially or personally?

What an inspiration to us all! I met my first and only love when I was 12 years old! After 30 years we found each other again and are so happy! Never in a million years did I think it possible, our story is amazing! Thank you Ellen for being so open and being our idol!

I just wanted to THANK YOU ELLEN AND CHELY WRIGHT for giving Gays and Lesbians all around the world the courage, strength to be who they truely are, Myself included! It is really nice to know I'm not along and it is Ok to be a LESBIAN! I came out 5 years ago and it has been hard mentally and physically. I have learned to ignore the words and I have learned how to defend myself to aviod getting beat up anymore. Again THANK YOU!!
I love your show; I watch it everyday; it's awsome.

Thank you Ellen for having Chely on your show and thank you for what you do every day to be that representative that helps so many people know that there is someone like them out there!
I've been incredibly touched by Chely's story and I hope she'll have all the happiness she deserves now!

thx. for telling your story. maybe now more people will STOP HIDING. we are all people and GOD LOVES US TOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. were i work, it's a retail store. my co -workers and customers call me - Ellen. i dont know why--but i do love to dance and laugh all the time. to me if they call me ELLEN, even though my name is Andrea. im proud of it!!!! take care and be safe--everyone..

How wonderful it must have been for Chely to get that off her shoulders and her heart. There's no reason why gays have to be silent. Let yourselves be heard and be proud! We're all human beings on this earth and we all need to know that not one of us is better than the other!

Way to go Chely! Thank you! And thank you too Ellen. It's a hard world but every brave move or open conversation makes it just a little bit softer.

Oh, and Ellllennn... you forgot to give her her toaster!

;-D

I have been hearing about this and watched your Interview via a facebook feed. SO SO SO SAD for all the Men out there!!!! LOL :-) Chely is So Wholesome and Down to Earth. !!! Good for Her !!!
In the Interview you were talking about when the Child was sitting with there Parent and trying to talk to them. It seemed like you were looking for a word to use. It seems to me the word is "Honest"
The Chikd is just being Honest or trying to be so that there Parents know what is going on in there lives. Sad to think that Parents prech to there Children to be Honest with them, then at the same time make it almost Impossible for them to be Honest. :-(
Anyway, Chely is HOT !!!! :-) I would take her Bass Fishing Anyday. I bet she Loves to Bass Fish !!! Good Luck Chely !!!

Extraordinary part 2, I just realized I implied Chely wrote "Unknown" but it's still my favorite haunting song. the 11-11 thing is cool. also, more on the saga of not being able to see the entire video due to DISH technical problems, I tried to see it on Chely's site, then I tried to You Tube again and now it says some kind of sharing violation and has been removed from her website along with one video from CMT.com. Kind of weird all of a sudden this is happening.
I know you're busy, but you only have two jobs now, can you check for me, please? i find it a cruel joke that someone that loves you both so much had to have this satellite issue today. It's probably Global warming and the satellite was confused at to what month it is, because it's freezing up here in the Bay Area. I may not even go out for a bike ride tomorrow because it's so cold. anyway, I guess since I can't see the interview properly, I have time to write xoxo

Dear Ellen
Your interview with Chely today was one of my favorite interviews, I have been out it seems like forever, and I could not fathom having to keep this a secret. My partner and I have been together now for 23 years and I could not imagine going through life without her. It is very sad that we have to hide who we are, I know there are scarier thing out there besides us. And having to pretend we are someone different then who we really are is frightful. As we are not accepted by all, the bottom line is Love no matter whom it is. I wish her nothing but Love as I have found with my Love.

JoAnn L Bills

Ellen,

Just watching your show and your interview with Chely. I haven't ever written or emailed to any show before, but you never cease to inspire me and so I find myself compelled to do so now. I just wanted to thank you for your courage to live your life so publicly in a way that is honest and true. You couldn't have known when you began this journey that it would have such an impact on so many lives but you chose that path regardless. I so often think that I am raising my kids in a world that has so much less freedom than the childhood that I experienced. They can't play alone in the woods, walk to school alone, or ride a bike without a helmet, etc. It's not that I feel that these aren't good things, I just think that sometimes it seems as if children, and adults for that matter, are expected to do what society has decided is "right" and therefore not given the opportunity to make their own mistakes or their own choices. On the other hand, they are living in a world that is so much more diverse and accepting of individuality than we experienced. I thank you for your intent and the impact that you have had on the human beings that your life touches. Sincerely, thank you for being you.

All the best and right back at ya!

Kim

Wow, I was speechless, listening to her on your show today. I had no idea who she was before her coming out, but now, I am a fan!

I'm a lesbian too and I relate so much to that feeling you have when you discover you're different. I must say I discovered it very early, I started talking about it to my mom when I was 11 and she was very supportive, she listened to me. I'm lucky enough to have grown in a progressive family and a not so small town (somehwere in French Canada... ;)) As a teenager, I wanted to know everything about homosexuality; I was reading books, magazines, watching every movie with a gay woman in it. lol And at 15, I watched your coming out episode, Ellen. I was so so so happy to see it, you were my idol (I even have the famous Time Magazine and Entertainment Weekly :p) After that, I became an activist in the GLBT community and the story goes on and on!...

Finally, I was very happy that you mentionned that it was (still) very important for celebrities to come out... It's a political statement and I hope more will follow...

I always feel so angry when I hear stories like this. Like Chely's father I too find it disgusting, but not in the way he did! What I find disgusting is that we as human beings are still fighting every minute of every day just to be ourselves and be heard. We have lived in a world were people have been drowning in sorrow and oppression for far too long. Our opinions and prejudices have ruined so many lives and unfortunately taken so many lives. I say 'WE' because whether we like it or not we have all contributed to prejudice at some stage or another, whether that be when we were children on the playground or among 'friends' trying to fit in! It makes me so physically sick to know that people are the cause of so much hurt and pain around the world. I am twenty years old and from a small village in Northern Ireland, so you could say I have not experienced as much as others, but I am not naive. I believe we all have a purpose in this life, and that each of us are the next slab on the path to the future. It is my hope that the future is one of love, joy and harmony, and one were no single person has to hide who they are in fear of rejection. God bless every single person in pain right now (Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven). I'm not an especially religious person but I always remember that one. We should all listen to Ellen more, Laugh Dance Love!!!

Ellen: I watch your show every day, and today was no different, and I have to say first that I have always loved Chely Wright and after today's show, I love her all the more. I would sit and listen to her songs and often think, what it was that made her so sad in her music, now I know. Chely, you go girl, God Bless you and keep kicking your music. Ellen, keep up the good work, I Love you.
