Chely Wright Isn't Alone -- and Neither Are You

chely wright

While sharing her emotional story with Ellen, Chely Wright mentioned that when she was younger, she was searching for another gay person like herself, but she couldn't find anyone. For many gay people, it can be easy to feel alone, but the truth is that they are not. If you feel alone, the following organizations can help you:

the trevor project

The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. They operate several programs including The Trevor Lifeline (the only nationwide suicide and crisis lifeline for LGBTQ youth) and TrevorSpace (an online social networking community for LGBTQ youth, their friends and allies).

matthew's place

Matthew's Place
Run by The Matthew Shepard Foundation, Matthew's Place helps LGBTQ people live, learn, engage and share. With a variety of resources including guides to coming out and information about local organizations, it is an invaluable place for LGBTQ people around the country.

As the Mom of a bisexual son, I am truely amazed at how finding out in an accidently note on his bedroom floor changed our relationship. To beable to give him the support he needed to tell me on his own really opened up our communication. I am a person who likes to make people laugh and we joke about how clueless I was when he had "friends" spending the night. I mean where is a mother handbook on that ...your mind doesnt really think that way..I mean you know without being told girls dont sleep at a boys house. But when your son is Bi there are no rules but the ones in your heart to go by. Now he is dating mostly girl ..but he is still searching. I am just there to love him either way. If anything we are so much stronger and open than ever. He is now 19. Thank you Ellen for being such a role model and your MOM.

Extraordinary, part 2 oops, I posted on the next page. It's there somewhere but basically it's this. I didn't mean to imply Chely wrote "unknown," but I think her psyche chose it. It really is good and such a tale to compliment her story and I do think the 11-11 thing is great between you two. 11-11 record label and the song says" I pray at 11-11." You must, must hear it.
Anyway, my continuing saga of DISH network hating me. I still cannot find the interview anywhere in its entirety. Chely's site has it for a minute, then it's gone with some kind of warning of sharing violations along with CMT.com., kind of scary. I hope Chely's not in trouble for trying to post her interview. I'm sure you won't get too mad at her. With your new record label, can you use a funny, really nice, very reliable Leo as a staff person. I'm a vegan now and I don't drink so I can be there for you, really be there. xoxo I'll just keep trying till the universe tells me to quit. or you tell me too

Extraordinary! I just wish she had more time with you. Maybe the face girdle could have waited for a next show. Although, very funny, I must say.
Have her back soon to sing one of her new songs, ok? Also, could you please have her sing "Unknown." It's my favorite of hers. You should hear it. Funny that your new Record Label is "Eleven-Eleven." She refers to praying at Eleven-Eleven in the song. Listen to it. It tells her entire life story and I love the parallel thoughts you both had. Interesting!

Also, I am so sad. I record so much, have recorded Idol, you forever, you name it. Today, of all days, The DISH Network, the people who love you had technical difficulties and I missed part of Chely. I could just scream. But. I don't scream. I've tried to YouTube, HULU, even check her page and I can't find the entire interview. I want to see her walk out; everything. I know it doesn't rate up there with natural disasters, but I am so sad. Where can i see it in its entirety? Do you have a tape of it?
Love you Ellen, adore Chely and I feel so full right now. You and she are Angels healing the world, one Lesbian at a time.

Please remember to be happy and be loved I always well love you both no matter what!! Take care with best of love me!! Diane Salmon P.S. please let me know that you readed this!!

To Cheryl Wright - I just watched you on Ellen. I cannot pretend to understand your life style. I do not get it. However, I want you to know that you are loved. And that is what is really important. I hope you have a wonderful life, full of love

I love your show and as I was watching today I was truly moved by Chely. I am gay and have been with my partner for 16 years, needless to say they havent all been easy years with society the way it is. I didnt know that your mother wrote a book, but I would love to have a copy if you could please let me know where to find one. I live in Indiana, a state very shallow when it comes to same sex relationships, so Im not sure I would be able to find it here! Please help! Chely's book "like me" I might be able to find! I understand completely what she says, even after 16 years, we have some family that just will not accept our relationship!
Thanks Ellen for how much your life affects me everyday!
Sincerely
Pam
