'Sweet Freedom' by Ricki Heller

Just because you're vegan, it doesn't mean you have to give up desserts! Vegan blogger Ricki Heller loves desserts, and wanted a healthy diet without having to give up her daily treats -- so she created the "Sweet Freedom" cookbook.

With over 100 original recipes for treats made with whole, natural ingredients, you'll discover that you can have amazing desserts without eggs, dairy, refined sugars or any artificial ingredients. Find out more on her recipe blog, "Diet, Desserts and Dogs."

Ellen: You HAVE to taste these treats - UNREAL! Healthy AND tasty - this coming from a nutritionist who's 2-year-old ADORES Ricki Heller's treats. Best to just try them yourself, Ellen!

Ellen..Ricki's recipes are great and she is a delight! Dont take others word for it see for yourself...Ricki is on You-Tube and she's fantastic. Her video, her dogs, her recipes are first rate! I'm sure you will agree with the rest of us, she would be a great guest on your show!

Ellen, you will love Ricki's desserts. My husband tried a Chocolate Mystery Cupcake today - no eggs, no dairy, no refined sugar, incorporating two kinds of veggies plus omega-packed chia seed and thought they were great. If you don't tell him the secret ingredients then I surely won't! BTW, you are looking great and ow we know why.

Just wanted to send out a great big "THANK YOU" to everyone for your wonderful comments, and to the Ellen Show (again) for including my book here. Thanks so much!

I'd happily send some treats from the book directly to the show, but I'm afraid they'd be a little stale by the time you got them from Toronto. Guess I'll just have to come on the show and bake some fresh ones for you all! ;)

Hi Ellen. I just met Ricki online, and I have to say, I wish I came across her sooner. She is such a trip. I can't wait to see her on your show. I just know you'll have a blast with her there.

BTW, I am also campaigning on my blog (www.rawdorable.blogspot.com) to get you to try one of my raw cupcakes (I sent you a copy of my e-book recently via one of the contact boxes). If you'd like, I'll have Ricki bring one to you when she's on your show, as I'm sure she will be someday very soon :-)

I have been addicted to Ricki's blog from the start. Her recipes are amazing and for a non-cook like me, pretty close to foolproof. I love her outlook on life...her comments always resonate and she seems to see things exactly as I do! More, please!!!

Sweet Freedom rocks! I've served many of her cruelty-free treats to omnis and they didn't bat an eyelash. It's especially great for those with food allergies and sensitivities who are usually forced to skip baked yummies- Sweet Freedom means freedom from allergies & cruelty for all.

Ellen Degeneres is the most hillarious women on TV today I only wish I could meet her in person

My kids are not the biggest "healthy" eaters but Ricki's recipes fool them every time. Her chocolate truffles with avocado are their favorites but her sense of humor is whatIlove best. Ricki SHOULD get airtime - she is so knowledgable and clear in her explanations. Ricki could teach your audience about the basics of nutrition as well as providing great dessert ideas - AND she's funny!

Ellen should definatly have Ricki on the show to share her treats! In fact I think she would be great for the January 26, 2011 show...and make Ellen's Birthday cake! 284 days to go..(Im keeping track as that's my birthday too, my 50th)..Hope to share some of that cake!! If not,for sure Ill be baking something from the book for myself!
Ellen...reading the book is great, but Tasting Ricki's treats would be even better dont' you think??

That is one of my favorite cookbooks. I turn to it whenever I am craving something sweet, but don't want to feel too guilty about it!

Ricki's book is wonderful and the first one I reach for when I'm in the mood for something sweet. Her recipes are simple, thoroughly explained, and full of DELICIOUSNESS. By far one of the best cookbooks I own!

I'm vegan and enjoy baking. My husband can't have wheat, dairy or sugar, so this book is great for me.

Ricki is creative, passionate, funny, articulate, and an amazingly inspired cook and baker! I admire her incredible drive, I relate to her sweet tooth, and everything she makes is incredible. Her recipes always work, and she balances good taste with whole foods nutrition in a way that many just can't match! You shoudl definitely invite her on the show - she'll be a hit! And she has incredibly adorable dogs. :)

thanks for having such a great show, and I'm excited to see Ricki on! (fingers crossed!!!!) :)

I loved Ricki's brownies, and the muffin type baking is terrific. My kids love these recipes too. I would love to see Ricki bake on your show and show off some new recipes!

Ricki Heller's new cookbook is great! Now EVERYONE can enjoy
delicious deserts, regardless of their "stomach issues"!

She is a warm, intelligent, eloquent speaker with a wonderful sense of humor, and would be an amazing asset to your show!!!!!!

BTW, I love your show!

Can't wait to see her there!

I love Ricki's blog! I would definitely stay home from work to watch her on your show. Okay, maybe not, but I would watch it later... Love you Ellen!

Please invite the fabulous Ricki to prepare vegan treats on the show! Nothing would make her happier, and the entire audience would fall under her (and her cooking's) charm!
