dear ellen,
i am seventeen and live in a small town where in the third grade my teacher read my class the first three harry potter books. for nine years now i have been a avid harry potter fan and by being so have brought my sister who is two years younger than me into this magical world. we read all of the books always watch the movies premeirs at midnight and have not stopped talking about the new harry potter world for months. My mom and i bond watching your show everyday at lunch. you are truly wonderful caring person:)
Dear Ellen, I'm writing to tell you how much my two kids and I love Harry Potter. When the books first came out, as soon as I bought it, my son and I took turns reading them. As the movies came out, I took my son and daughter to see them. I'm a single mom and it is a treat to get to go and see a movie, especially Harry Potter, which we look forward to so much. Now, my daughter is eleven and in the fifth grade, she has just started reading the series this year, and only has one more to read.
We all love your show. We record it to make sure we don't ever miss it.
You are a very good person. Thanks for helping so many people. There needs to be more people like you in the world.

Dear Ellen,
I am an eleven year old girl in the sixth grade. Last summer, I read all of the Harry Potter books.(Yes, all of them. I'm a fast reader.) I really enjoyed them, and was interested enough to send a fan letter to J. K. Rowling. I was completely amazed when I got a reply letter thanking me for my letter. I REALLY love Harry Potter and have read all the books multiple times. I dressed up as Hermione Granger for Halloween and even went to the exhibition at the Boston Museum of Science with my best friend, who is also a huge fan. If the seventh movie comes out in time, I'm planning to go the movies and see it for my birthday this year. I absolutely LOVE Harry Potter and it would be so awesome if you at least read my letter. I hope to be on your show someday. (I want to be an Olympic athlete or a singer.) Anyway, hope you read this.
Your Friend,
Katie Parks
hi,
i wanted to let you know what a HUGE fan my son isaac is of harry potter. he was afraid to read the books in second grade, because they're so long. well, he starteed reading the series in the third grade, and hasnt looked back! He's in 4th grade and has now read through all 7 books more than once, and has amassed the highest AR points at his school, in part from reading these books. we attended the midnight party for the release of the last book, and he dressed up as harry- painting a pair of sunglasses black, and finding a stick worthy to be his wand from the backyard.(he was in our local paper)he has seen all the movies a million times, and goes with his dad to see them at the midnight release. He wand duels his father for fun. The goal is to see who can remember the most spells from the books/movies. isaac always wins.:)
i told my hubby this morning, i would give every single one of my left toes to take him to the harry potter world in FL :) it would be such a thrill for him. we love your show, ellen and enjoy seeing you on "Idol."
Dear Ellen,
My 9 year old daughter, Taylor, is a HUGE Harry Potter fan. She has all the movies and is working on reading the books. When she was 3 she was outside play-riding on a broomstick and she stopped and fell over. I started towards her asking her if she was all right and she just lay there on the grass with her eyes closed and said "the dementors got me" We both laughed so hard!
She wanted to let you know that we are going to Universal Studios in June and will be staying at the Royal Pacific Resort. She was so excited when she heard you are staying at the same place we are, but a little disappointed it will be at a different time. She said that maybe we will get your room. LOL -doubtful but it was cute as we are such big fans of yours.
Have a great time there - we'll be watching you!
Hi Ellen
Me and my mom love your show, we watch you all the time. Me and my brother are huge fans of Harry Potter and ever since we saw they building the Harry Potter attraction we want to go to Universal. We have all the Harry Potter movies and all the books. We will like to go some time to see your show live.
My partner & I have been together for 17 yrs. We have raised 3 children, the youngest we had together. His name is Dylan,He is turning 12 on march 26, He is a awesome kid who happens to be autistic , he loves many things and Harry Potter is one of them. When he heard that Universal was building a theme park of Harry Potter he has bugged us to go. My partner Teresa is a long haul truck driver who can't spend as much time at home as we would like, And it has been her dream to take him to florida to see this theme park. I have health problems which make it impossible for me to work. So supporting our family is completely on her shoulders. We also have a grandson at home with us that will be 4 on march 29th. Dylan has spent many hours drawing harry potter,He absolutley loves the movies. He has the videos games which is another passion of his. I am not trying to write a feel sorry for us letter. I just think winning tickets for this funny but loud child and my partner who happens to be just as funny and loud at times, would be a dream come true for them both. Thanks, Diane
Hi Ellen, There are alot of life lessons and hidden meanings that my daughter Lily Odare has gleened from Harry Potter. She has been a lifelong fan (to the extreme, theres no room for me to fill in ALL the details)but most of all she was able to get through the toughest time in her life (hodgekins lymphoma)with COURAGE that was in many ways inspired by Harry. He walked through the gates of hell many times knowing what was on the other side with his head held high, courage in his heart and the beleif in something bigger than himself....this describes my Lily.
Dear Ellen,
I wanted to tell you about my special needs son, Alex. Alex has been through a lot in his 8 years of life. He started having seizures when he was just 21 mos old. After he was 2 years, he had a really bad seizure in which he had to be airlifted from one hospital to another because they couldn't bring him out of the seizure. We weren't sure if our baby was going to make it. Thankfully he did. We're not sure if the seizure did brain damage but Alex has extreme delays in all areas. He can't talk well at all and his balance is really bad to the point that he falls a lot and has to use a special stroller if we're going to be walking any distances. He gets speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy to help him. He had brain surgery when he was just 4 years old due to a herniation in his brain called Arnold Chiari Malformation. This is a separate condition and has nothing to do with the seizures. The doctors have told us that Alex was most likely in a great deal of pain his whole life prior to that due to this herniation. One of the great joys that Alex has is watching Harry Potter. He LOVES Harry Potter!!! For years he carried a little Harry Potter action figure everywhere he went. Every Halloween he was Harry and for every birthday, it had to be a Harry Potter theme. As the movies got "darker" I stopped taking him because he'd get so upset seeing Harry in danger on screen. He will literally scream "NOOOO!!!" in the movie theatre if anyone tries to hurt Harry. The other night he was laying in the bed with me and he saw the Harry Potter theme park commercial come on the television. His WHOLE face lit up!!! He jumped up and said, "Paaa??" (his word for Harry Potter). When I saw your show was asking for the "biggest fan", I had to tell you about our little Alex. We wanted to take him to the theme park but on our own we'll have to wait a few years. My husband lost his job a year and a half ago and was out of work for a year. He's gotten a new job now but it'll take awhile to get back on our feet enough for a vacation such as that. I hope you would consider Alex as Harry Potter's "biggest fan".
Thanks for all you do every day! You're an inspiration to everyone!

Hi Ellen!! I just wanted to let you know that my fiance and I are big fans of your show and you personally (we just started watching idol this year because of you!)My favorite part of your show is watching you dance!! I am writing to let you know that even though I do not have any children I still live with a huge Harry Potter fan! My fiance tried to get his younger sister interested in Harry Potter books and he ended up reading all the books and loving them!! Even though we are both in our late 20s (ouch it hurts saying that!) we still wait in line at midnight to purchase new books and get into the first showing of the movies as they are released! We are so eager to get to Orlando and experience more adventures with with the cast and crew of the new theme park!!
Hi Ellen, I just had to let you know how much I love your show, my family and I live in Canberra the capital of Australia, after watching your pop up asking if I know any children that are mad Harry Potter fans I had to email you. I kept seeing it and thinking Im in Australia why bother answering, then since you are trying for world domination, I figured I should give it a try. My Daughter Taylah is the Potter fan in our family, she is 10 years old and has loved all things Harry Potter form the moment she turned 4, We happen to live next door to a boy named Keiryn, Keiryn is also if not more so a hugh Potter fan, Taylah is always playing Harry Potter games with Keiryn, Its not unusual to catch them making potions and running around the yard with their Wands pretending they are at Hog warts or some fantasy adventure involving the Characters from The Harry Potter movies. It is great watching them have so much fun and enjoying what little time they have left to play such wonderful and free imaginary games. I have 2 more Daughters Rhiannon 8 and Haylee 4, Haylee was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 at Birth (Down Syndrome) she is the cutest thing you will ever see, especially when she gets involved in teh magic games of Harry Potter and she is running around the Gardedn with Broom between her legs, laughing and having fun. I wish you all the best and cant wait to see the show in Orlando. Take care and keep up the great job you do everyday. Love Toni Minto
Hi Ellen,
We live in Sydney Australia and I wanted to let you know that my daughter Shannon (10 years old) is an unusual Harry Potter fan. She is constantly reading the books and talking about all the characters, she ridicules the movies because the books are so much better. Yes, she is a Harry Potter snob. She knows all the names of every last character and prattles on about them at the drop of a hat and without warning. I have read none of the books so as she prattles on I just keep saying, 'oh really, how interesting' uh-huh, cool.' I like the movies much better we disagree a lot about narrative structure ;-)
Shannon was born in California, but we moved to Sydney when she was 1 year-old. The added extra to her prattling on about Harry is that she has the cutest Aussie accent and she is quite loquacious and very articulate. You would love her.
The added extra is that she is well-loved by her two mums who have been together for over 13 years. We have another daughter Casey (6) who is following in her sister's Potter footprints, but can't read yet.
Shannon would love to hear from you. She is an excellent writer and I imagine she herself will be the next JK Rowlings someday.
Cheers, Aarhon Silver
I AM THE BIGGEST HARRY POTTER FAN!
Since I was 10 years old, I have been reading the Harry Potter series. Now that I am 21, I find ways to bring HP into my professional life as well. I am a high school Art Teacher, and I will give students extra points when they sneak Harry into their journal entries.
Every summer I re-read the Harry Potter series, and new aspects of the story are always revealed. When the movies started coming out, I saw all of them more than once in the theater. I grew up reading about Harry, Ron, and Hermione - the movies provided the best visual to make my dream world come to life on the screen.
I'm a fun and outgoing individual who would make the most out of this opportunity! Thanks for the consideration, Ellen!
Kailey
Dear Ellen,
My daughter Jillian and I watch your show together everyday. Thank you for the laughs we have together during that time. Jillian is 17 years old and a Junior in High School. She is a hugh Harry Potter fan. She's read every book and then some we've seen every movie at Midnight because she couldn't wait and has followed the building of Harry Potter at Universal online since it started. Recently Jill has been hanging home more than being with her friends there is an explanation that I won't write in this letter. I can tell you this she is a wonderful girl a straight A student in school and she desperately needs something amazing right now to happen in her life and I believe that this could do it for her. She truly is a joy who never asks for much I would love to see something really wonderful and exciting happen to her. I pray she will be at the top of your list!

Dear Ellen,
I have already written but I am writing again because there is that much more of a chance that you will notice my post.
I am 12 years old and consider myself to be one of the biggest (in my opinion the biggest) Harry Potter fans out there. I have a vast collection of Harry Potter collectibles (wands, posters, glasses, bookmarks, the marauders map, Harry's cloak etc...). I have read all the books several times and seen all the movies more times than I can count. I have been in the local news three times (once in the newspaper and twice on television) for dressing up as Harry Potter. I have been to book and movie releases, including an all-day showing of every Harry Potter movie (from nine in the morning to midnight), which my mom doesn't think she will be able to do again for the seventh Harry Potter movie (though I am planning on it). Sometimes I think some of my friends associate me with Harry Potter when I see them, and I have heard that I look like him when he was younger. Please consider me for the Universal Orlando giveaway.
Thanks for thinking about it.
Matthew
Hi Ellen,
I saw the pop up on your show about the biggest harry potter fan. That would be my 14 year old daughter Kathryn. She has read all the books so many times they are now falling apart. She is that much of a fan when my 17 year old son had to do a book report for school Kathryn wrote it for him on the goblet of fire,it was the Highest English mark he had ever received. Kathryn also has every film on dvd and I'm surprised there not worn out now they've been watched so many times.
Kathryn dream is to visit the castle in england where they filmed the harry potter films, but i know she would be speechless if given the chance to go to Orlando.
We are all really big fans of your show and you have a really good way of putting a smile on all of our faces even when things are not so good,I want to thank you for that,we love you Ellen
Lisa and Kathryn
Dear Ellen, my son loves Harry Potter. He has never liked reading but when the Harry Potter books came out he actually read them and loves them. He is now 17 and still loves reading them and listening to them on audio tapes. Of course he owns all the movies too. He wants to go to Orlando Florido to the new Harry Potter theme park for his graduation present. Thanks to the Harry Potter books he now enjoys reading.
Dear Ellen,
All 4 of my children are the biggest Harry Potter fans. We have 3 copies of each book so we can all read them at the same time. We watch Harry Potter weekend on ABC family everytime it's on (like this weekend), but we don't have to wait until then because we own all the movies. We also like to add to the fun with our Harry Potter attire. Two years ago we had a Harry Potter Easter party where we were "sorted" into our houses and we competed for the goblet of fire. We heard about the new Harry Potter theme park and we definitely want to go. So winning 4 tickets and seeing you there would be an absolute dream come true for my entire family, who watches your show everyday and lives, laughes, and dances along with you (and sometimes cries). Thanks for being you.
Love,
Dona, Chris, Andrew (18), Samantha (17), Daniel (15), and Anna (13)

Dear Ellen,
My name is Savanah. Yes, that same Savanah in Rachel and Alexis's letter to you. I am writing this because i want to go to the Harry Potter theme park so bad. Rachel didn't write a lot about me but I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Ever since I read the books I've wished i could just visit Hogwarts and wash away all my troubles, playing wizard chess and exploding snap with the Weasleys. I hope you pick me and my sisters, Rachel and Alexis.
Love,
Savanah. :)
