I'm reading this book right now and it is amazing and life changing. I've gone vegan, but not "super hero" (the third stage of the book) and it really changes you, from the inside to outside in better ways than you can even imagine.

Just the burden of not hurting the environment or animals makes you feel lighter and more mentally healthy.

I would say that a person trying it should be prepared to eat a lot more natural foods: fruits and veggies, whole grains, beans, etc. Your skin starts to look amazing, which is the first change.

Many of the recipes are indulgent - not exactly diet foods - so weight loss is not guaranteed, but healthy deliciousness and peace of mind is!

Also, there is a website/forum that goes along with the book. I've joined and like it.

This is such a great book for "flirts" who want to make changes in their lives. Hope to see Alicia on your show. Thanks for all you do Ellen!!

I change my whole diet and lifestyle because of this book. I feel great!!! I'm not a vegetarian but eat alot less meat and amtrying to get a healthier life.

I saw a short piece regarding becoming a vegan, and have sent for the book. I'm a 63 Y.O. male,
and in fairly good health,...except for being about 40 lbs. overweight. I'm a gym enthusiast,and
am also a huge fan of Dr. Oz and his show.
I believe this book will change my life...and help
me lose weight & lower my overall cholesterol and lower my blood pressure (which is just a bit high)
but within normal range.

I love the show w/ alicia re: vegan eating/my mom (75yrs young, still plays keyboard! although not much lately and also concerned about what foods are low in animal protein and just plain healthy since she's overcome cancer especially)
I have been visiting her and we ate mostlly salads, stir frys and looking for local place that hs veggie burger

I absolutely love this book! I read books like this all the time and many say the same thing again and again. So, yes its true what they say about eating animals. However, Alicia sets her book apart by showing you its ok to be weary of committing at first, showing you recipes to try and that its not as hard as we think. Alicia's recipe for peanut butter cups is absolutely to die for! YUM!

I just searched to see if you have had her on the show or are going to and I must have missed her appearance somehow. Darn DVR!

I love this book! I bought it a few weeks ago and haven't had meat or dairy since. I've made quite a few of the recipes and they are all very good! I love that half of the book is educational and half is recipes. After learning about why we shouldn't eat meat and dairy and how gross it really is, I have no interest in going back to my old way of eating. I think everyone should read it! Great book!

I saw the show that Alicia was on and was intrigued by the title. I love the concept and am looking forward to reading the book. Ellen, I love it when you bring on guests like Alicia Silvertone and Deepak Chopra. Good people with great intentions!
