Ellen's Best Friend

Ellen loves her dogs, but they sure have their quirks. Today she took a look at a dog's actions, and how much easier it would be if we were just like them. Hear her theory right here.

Beto Borge, eres una desgracia para el PRI. ¡Queremos un PRI con gente preparada! No confien en este puerco. Ahí les dejo un video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz8DGC7OWbw para que vean sus trapitos al sol.

I have been trying to send a very interesting story about my daughter and son-in-laws pet pug,Bob, age 4, being snatched by a full grown wolf, chased by the family, including my daughter, Courtney, who had just given birth to a boy less than a week before and hitting the wolf with sticks and it dropping the pug. The pug survived with about 7 teeth marks. They chased it through a wooded area for about 700 yards. There is a lot more to this story and I tried to email you from Canada. It also has a hockey element in it as it was hit by a neighbor with a Sher-wood Hockey stick which likely saved the life of Bob.

Ellen: I was recently laid off from work (quite shocked about the whole situation;long story),but anyway the 1 thing I look forward to every day is watching you @ 3 pm. You make me laugh out loud! You make me smile, giggle, cry. You are an awesome person, and I just love ya! Your show where you shared some of your wedding did indeed make me cry; it was so beautiful you do so much good for so many people, and I can tell that you are completely sincere with everything that you do. I have 3 dogs (we live on 40 acres), and I have had more fun watching them play and run. It makes me wonder if they did anything different when I wasn't home watching them?? Thank you for a great one hour of my day!! diane

Hey there LOVE LOVE LOVE your my three kids and I watch you all the time you bring so much laughter and joy to our home in an hour!! Your amazing!

I am wondering though how I can send you a photo? I tried but it won't allow me because I'm from Canada... please help!!!

HAVE BEEN A FAN FOR YEARS, HOWEVER, LATELY YOU SEEM TO HAVE LOST YOUR HUMILITY. VERY DANGEROUS.
PLEASE TRY TO TONE DOWN THE YELLING AND SCREAMING FROM THE AUDIENCE .............IT IS DISTRACTING AND CHILDISH. REMAIN YOUR OWN SWEET SELF AND DO NOT LET SO MUCH LOVE AND ATTENTION CHANGE WHO YOU ARE. CONTINUED LUCK

Hi Ellen,

I have three cats, one of which is really sick. He is now jaundiced, had a very high temperature, stopped eating and I thought he was going to die. He has a history of pancreatitis, bad gall bladder, liver issues and small intestine issues. It is called IBD and triaditis. When I brought him home from the hospital, after ten days, I made the conscious decision to put him on an all natural diet. So I started doing my research and found Halo foods. I have another older cat who is 15 and has a heart issue. He's always been a picky eater. And then I have another one that will eat anything you put in front of him, but he's overweight and eats way too many carbs. I went to Wholefoods to get some Halo canned because it's the only place in my area that had it. I brought it home, and I have never in my life seen my cats eat like that. When I first brought Wally home he wouldn't eat anything. Thanks to Halo, he is now on the road to recovery and doing quite well. I also bought some Liv-a-Littles and they like those also. He needs to have a lot of protein and not many carbs in his diet. So I just wanted to write this and tell you of my success and how pleased I am to have found this food. I hope Halo Foods is around for a long, long time because based on the results I've seen with my cats, I'm going to be a lifer. The only problem I have is finding it. We do not have a Petco store in Cincinnati or the surrounding area and none of the other pet stores around here carry it. I have to special order it through one of the pet stores here and it takes a week to get it from the distributor. I wish there was a pet store around here that carried Halo. I could purchase a bigger variety of the product, and it would always be around when I need it. I don't ever want to run out. Thanks for listening.

hi Ellen, love all your shows and I think ur an inspiration!Love you Ellen

Hey Ellen: you have an awesome show and some great viewers and I was wondering if your viewers and you of course could help me come up with some great ideas for surprising my husband. You see I want to show how proud of him i am. At the age of 47 my husband has decided to get his GED. I know its not easy for him because school was never easy for him, but I want him to know how proud I am and I want this to be a way we can show our grandchildren how important it is to stay in school. My husband and I in our 20 years for marriage have raised two sons ( which are not his biological children) and two nieces( his sisters children) and we now have 3 grandchildren that we watch while their parents work. He works as special police for a local hospital and helps me with the grandchildren and I also work full time 3rd shift and I really want to surprise him and show him how great he is. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Hi Ellen,
I was just watching your show & was inspired to write by a viewer who wrote you in advance looking for tickets for when your show goes to her hometown. I figured why not? I'll try for tix for NY, MY HOMETOWN. My best friend Doreen & I always say we're going to CA to see your show. We've yet to make it! Our pregnant mom's would meet at the ice cream truck & wonder if we would be friends - guess what? We're 41 & have been through it all. I couldn't live without her. I married at 19 so we've only been able to go away together on a real vacation once (when I was pregnant with my first we drove to Salem, MA). What a great time we had! Since it doesn't look like we're making it to CA anytime soon I know we'll have a ball going to see you whenever you come to NY! Can you possible hook us up with tickets whenever that may be? We've waited this long, a little longer wont kill us! Thanks Ellen, you make us laugh all the time. Love your show!

Dear Ellen, I wish that humans could have similar hearing as dogs, that would be really cool. I love dogs too including yours they are really cute.

Everytime I see Wolf!!! I just wanna KISS HIM!!!! He's sooo cute... who cares if he's not smart... but really he might be so smart that he's fooling you and Portia on how smart he really is so you think he's not smart but really he is smart!!!!! He has you well trained now doesn't he!!! :) Just a thought! :)

When I had my dog Charlie I used to play these testing my dog's I.Q. games. I'd hide the ball behind my back and say... which hand??? Left hand would have it then it would go behind my back then the right would have it then the left.. then no hands... "Where's the ball?!" THen he's get all excited and start looking around!!!! Its hours of fun!!!!! You have to give 'em the ball once in a while... then good luck getting it back!!!! :)

I Loved your show yesterday. I have a cousin (sarah glasser) who is an animal communicator. Please contact me about her!!! You will finally get to hear what your dogs are thinking, saying, and wanting/needing from you. :) She is AWESOME!!! She has helped me with my animals, and many other people's pets as well. And it is true.... animals pretty much are smarter than us humans:)

Hi Ellen, GREAT SHOW AGAIN!! love your dogs and their mohawks lol..Now what am I going to tell Tyler? (12 year old son) who wants one LOL!!

Hey Ellen Go to my page smittie670@msn.com and look at my best friend. She drinks Margaritas too!

Hola Ellen!

I wanted to let you know about a dog my mom and sister rescued on your birthday. I was watching your show when my sister hands me her balled up sweater. Next thing I know this fury little poodle head pops out. She looked so terrified. I automatically looked at my mom and said those three stereotypical words, "Can we keep her?"

As I inspected this poor dog I found out that she had half inch thorns all over her body. I went to work right away. I pulled out as many thorns as I could see, but because her hair was long, thick, and knotted I couldn't get them all. I trimed her hair as much as I possibly could and then saw that she had something that looked like a hematoma. I did the best I could with healing her and now she is doing so much better.

Two weeks later my mom told me that we could keep her and we are still going through the process of healing her mentally and emotionally. I told my sister that we should name her after you since she interupted my "Ellen time" and because is was your birthday. She said no then continued by saying, "There is only one Ellen and she is too great to have a dog named after her. We can compromise and name her Ellie." So now we have a dog named Ellie which we want you to meet.

Dear Ellen,
I know the love you have for your dogs. My dog Kumquat was the inspiration behind PawCision Design. Our U.S patent pending paw center is a wonderful new product for anyone with furry friends. The paw center will make it's debut on April 17-18th at the KC PetExpo and I would love to share it with you. The paw center is a self contained center with dog bowls set within it, plenty of shelf (storage space) for all pet products, as well as, a food bin for dispensing food. The cat option is also available on top with a cat bowl to keep your dogs away from cat food. I would love to send you pictures of our three models staged to show how beautiful and functional they are. Thank you..

ELLEN

Hey Ellen: I wanted to let you know that the hair salon I work in watch your show everyday. We really like it and you make us laugh. I like how you treat your guests and the people in the audience. But I especially like what you do for those in need, it is good to see someone that really cares about people. Great show. Have a good day. Sincerely, Whitney Koons Oklahoma city
