Learn More About Toys for Tots

As the holidays are getting close, Ellen reminds everyone of the importance of helping those who need it. That’s why once again, Ellen is asking her audience members to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Toys for Tots program.

This year, Ellen has partnered with Pier 1 to be the show's retail partner as a drop-off location for Toys for Tots. If you wish to make a donation, please bring a new, unwrapped toy to a Pier 1 near you. Find out more about the Toys for Tots program here. You can learn more about Pier 1 on their website.

I also would love for you to do a show on how single parents struggle. I'm also a single mother of 3 girls ages 2, 1, and 1 month.They all have the same father and he is just in and out of there lives depending on the relationship he is in.I love watching your show it brightens up my day when I'm feeling down.

Dear Ellen,Love your show you are a hilarious riot truly gifted at making people laugh even if sometimes its hard. Thank you for that. I know you get millions of letters asking for your help, but I could really use your help. Unfortunately when I was about 31 years old I had a bad experience at the dentist and didn't go back because of that and the fact that bad teeth run in my family. I now need to have all my teeth extracted and get full dentures and have been trying to do that but I can barely pay my bills on my salary. I cannot eat anything except for toast and soup and even then I always have alot of pain and something always gets stuck in the holes which is nnoying and painfull. If you could help me it would mean so much to me to be able to eat normal again and be able to get the nutrients I need. Thank you for reading this letter. Luv you, Katharine

Dear Ellen, I love watching your show every day. I'm writing you this letter because I have seen that you've had help a lot of families. I have 5 kids and is going to be so hard for me to get them what they really want. My kids are 9,8,7 and twins of 2 years old. My 3 oldest had ask me that they want Nintendo D's is a rough time right now and I feel real bad of not get it to them. Last year they asked for the same thing and my sister promise them for Xmas and it has been a year and nothing still. Please I ask you if you could please help me with I will so appreciate it so much. God sees what you do for people and that's why he blesses you so much every day. Thank you so much hope you have MERRY Christmas and a HAPPY NEW Years

Dear Ellen,
I am 15 and live in Atlanta, Georgia. I loved how you raised awareness about Toys For Tots during your 12 Days of Giveaways. This year was the second year I donated some toys myself. Here in Atlanta we are 50% short of what we are usually able to collect and I can only imagine kids not having anything under the tree on Christmas. If there is anything you can do to help the Toys For Tots of Atlanta, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to tell you I was in the newspaper,Portland press herald. When I was 13. I was surrounded w/ toys I repaired and made clothes for. They were refurbished from old toys to give to TOYS FOR TOTS. I was in foster care at the time with a wonderful family. Im now 63 and still help whenever I can. This is a wonderful program for those less fortunate. I also received Christmas toys from Salvation Army when I was a child living w/ my parents and siblings. 8 of us in all. I always help them year round. So many agencies helped me as a child and I now love giving back,when I can , just wanted you to know ,their are those who give back what they have been given. Dear Ellen,
I have e-mailed you a few times recently, as I'm sure you are recieving so much e-mail. I am reaching the point of desperation. I am a single mother of three BEAUTIFUL girls, ages...13, 11, and 11 mo. Times have been really tough this year. My boyfriend got laid off from his job in construction and we lost the house we were buying. We have since moved to a town home. Thank God my girl-friend is the manager of them. We are already behind on our rent for the month. This is the very first time in 13 years that I have not been able to buy even ONE thing for my children for Christmas. I know that gifts aren't the "reason for the season." I had my children donate there time and some weekends doing the "bell-ringing" for the salvation Army Toys For Tots program, trying to show them that even tho we are hurting financially this year so are so many others... It BREAKS my heart not to be able to give them anything this year. I thank you for the smile you bring to my face each and ever day Ellen.. My 11 mo. old loves dancing to you every day. Happy Hollidays to you and Porsha. Thank you for all you do to help others. If my family could be one you could help, I would be eternally greatful...

I have a comment to the mom of the 4 children. I want to help you out. I am not a rich person, but I dont think you deserve to feel so badly about money for gifts. You can reach me on face book as Lindsey Lewis, and let let me know how I can help. There is a phone# I want you to call. Its just 211, and the people there can tell you places in your community where you can get help !!! I know you can !!!. If you want gifts, this is a great resource to use, and its free. 211 is really a blessed thing to have,and I have been helped by them alot in the past and now. I also think if you went to a church, you could get so much help. Churches and schools at thins time of the year have so many programs set up for people in need. YOU NEED TO GET OUT THE PHONE BOOK AND START CALLING NOW, so that you are not to late. If you think you are going to be in this situation next year, I suggest you start looking for help in November, to see where in your community you can get help. I dont know if Ellen will see your message, but I did, and if you try to contact me I will try my best to see what my family can do to help your family. Please let me know, I have many resources you can use from the community you live in. Lindsey Lewis....May God Bless Your Family This Season, And Please, PRAY. God will not shut the door without opening a window for you, and he will not give you to much to handle. He knows how much you can !!!!

Dear Ellen,
I see that you support toys for tots. I have been scrambling around hoping I can find out how I can give my 4 children a christmas this year. I dont have any money and I have bought anything! They are all expecting things from Santa, and I dont know what to do. Everyday my tears fall harder. Can you direct me somewhere so that I can assure my children will have something under the tree? I am having such anxiety, and I wish I could stall Christmas, but as we all know I cant. I need help Ellen and I dont know where or who to turn to. I was up all last night crying my eyes out because they are going to be so sad. It makes me sick to my stomach.Last year they didnt have anytoys left. My girlfriend gave me toys her kids had outgrown and I wrapped those for them. I am a 41yr. old disabled and divorced mother of three girls 12,10,8 and one boy age 6. Im crying out to you.....Please help me Ellen.

Tonight, December 15, COPA,Central Oklahoma Parrotheads Assoc, is supporting a Watering Hole at Hooters in Oklahoma City. The event is to collect Toys for Tots. Hooters is sponsoring the event along with Landshark beer distributors. Games, prizes, raffles,US Marines and island music. So happy to see that Ellen supports this great cause.

I know you recieve thousands of letters from people in need and I hope you will read mine. About three years ago I suffered a seizure and was in the hospital for 3 days and why I was there my son-in-law sold a tv that i was renting from rto. I was charged with this and did 45 days in jail and put on probation and now have to pay over four thousand dollars for something I did not do. He will not help me pay for this. I am terrified that I am going to go to jail for this. I see mo way out of this. I have been waiting for 3 years to get on disability because of my severe depression and I also suffer from bi-polar disorder. Since I had the seizures that I have had I have a very severe memory problem.I know you help a lot of families and I am in desperate need. I cannot live alone I am terrified of being alone. My mother just passed away on Dec 1st, I was living with her. I am now staying with my sister and her husband though not sure how long I will be able to stay there.Please elp me I cannot go to jail for something I did not do...Thank You
