I would like to wish you and yours a very happy new year, and thanks for all the laughs. May 2010 bring you many laughs and happy suprises.
I love that you give to those in need. I try to do the same, but unfortunately, I cannot do it at your level. Every little bit helps,I know.
Hi Ellen. I just love your show and I think you have the greatest sense of humor. I love your humorous play on different things especially your game shows. YRTB
Hi,Ellen; just want to thank you for keeping my daughter Stacy (17) and I closer by watching your show and laughing together everyday. We are trying to get tix to see you in person now. We haven't heard back yet. It would be a terrific mother/daughter time for us! also, I know how much you love animals and because of the bad economy and high vet bills, we have struggled to keep our family of cats alive and healthy this past year. We used a credit plan to try to pay,but many of them got ill last summer and we lost some of them because we couldn't pay any more vet costs to help them. We felt terrible. our cats are all interrelated and we love them like family. I wish there was a really low cost way or free plan to help families give their special pets all the help they need. I am also unemployed for the last 14 mos. and my husband's business is always struggling as are many out there now. Maybe you could help us and other pet lovers' families afford these costs and keep our pet families healthy. Thanks for listening,Joanie (Cerritos,CA.) PS We still have bills to pay off from the animals we lost and tried to help.OUCH!
Hello Ellen!!! I just want you to know I LOVE YOUR SHOW!!! No matter how rough my day is you always make me laugh!!! Thanks!!

Hello Ellen i live in Montana and watch your show once in a while and I am awed at how generous and understanding you are to everyone despite your fame. My daughter is nine months old and was born with six fingers on her right hand. We have an appointment in may 2010 to have it removed though I don't think it is covered by insurance due to the fact that it is considered cosmetic surgery. I thought I would write to you because so many people watch you and are inspired by you. You would not believe how common extra fingers and toes are in babies and I thought it might be an interesting topic for your show that a lot of people could relate to and would be out of the ordinary. My daughter is beautiful and with everything that could go wrong with having a baby an extra finger is the least of my worries and just adds to her unique disposition. I swear she is my miracle baby with her magic finger!! Thought I had nothing to lose in writing you! You are an amazing person with a beautiful spirit!! Keep rocking!
Sad times when a great musician like Stefani Germanotta has to package her talent in cr*p wrap lyrics and garb to sell it. She sold out.
Feel sorrier for the young women who believe what she is selling . People, this emperess has no clothes.
hey i wanted your o magazin but you sold out what a bummer i would do anything for one =(

A Different Christmas Poem
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,"
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."
" So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."
PLEASE, would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many
people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our
U.S. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these
festivities. Let's try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people
stop and think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.

Dear Ellen,
I'm sending this letter to tell you how much I admire you! I'm an out lesbian, that has had a rough year and a half! After living in a small town most of my life... I needed to leave to be out of the closet! I moved to columbia, s c. Last year my life got flipped upside down. Having some health issues to come into play, gall bladder surgery that put me out of work for over 2mths. So I got behind in my bills, had to move! My girlfriend and I moved in together... When her brother (who owned the property) found out that his sister was gay, he kicked us out!
Then this past june my dad died unexpectedly! Most of my family has disowned me, since my dad died he left me a 1994 dodge truck which needs work done on it and tires! A 1983 Buick car that fills full of smoke, spits, spuders, jumps and jerks. The car is dangerous because it will shut off running down the road. He also left 5.5 acres of land!
I had to quit my job because I couldn't make it back and forth to the grocery store I worked at! The wear and tear on the truck was way to much. I had to drive an hour & a half to work! I worked for Publix in Columbia & when my father passed, I transferred to the Aiken store the closes store to my house! My dad's house and vehicles are still in his name because I haven't had the money to transfer them in my name.
My wife is also out of work. We have been looking everyday!
I'm blessed to have my wife, our friends, her mom, our son (my step-son), daughter-in-law and grand-daughter 11mths old and one on the way, in my life.
It hurts my heart that I'm on foodstamps to keep us from straving and have no money to pay my bills or for christmas!
Btw, I am enrolled in a special program to help me go back to school for trade. I'm starting school in Jan 2010, I need a computer for school, the program doesn't pay for those things.
Ellen, it would be gr8t if my wife could meet you! We watch your show everyday. She and I love you so much. We love the fact that you stand up for animals and gay rights.
Thank you for your time!
Sincerely,
Cyndi
