Next Story: Who's That Multi-Talented Teen Idol?
Hi Ellen,
I enjoyed the interview with Simon Baker. I especially enjoyed the "Love You Right" Euphoria film clip.
He was also in another film clip: "Read My Lips" (a song by Melissa Tkautz). I remember this song in my youth. Melissa Tkautz was on a TV show in Australia called "E Street". And, funnily enough, so was Simon Baker! (He was known as Simon Denny or Simon Baker-Denny then). He played a police officer. Simon's wife (Rebecca Rigg) was also on the show. She played a nurse with a particularly freaky storyline.
An "E Street" clip could be potentially embarrassing and very funny indeed!
Dear Ellen,
I have been watching you being so very helpful to families in need and am wandering if there might be a chance to help my daughter Hgerian. Her husband is recently cut back significantly in hours at work and perhaps on the verge of loosing the job entirely. She cleans houses for people and works in the school lunch program so that she can be at home when her three children are home; I admire her for trying to be a stay-at-home Mom but financial times are certainly changing; aren't they?
I spoke to her today and found out that their MiniVan no longer works and they have run up the credit card to capacity and therefore cannot pay to fix it. It has 140,000 miles on it already so that probably would be good money after bad anyway. She cannot afford to buy her three kids and two step children Christmas presents and now is not able to visit me for Thnaksgiving since they have run out of gas money to make the trip. I want to help them but I was recently laid off and my husband's job is shakey as well. I hate to see her family struggle especially at Christmas time; is there anything you could do to help them?
Thank you for hearing me.
Sincerely,
A very concerned mother, Gerry
I love the Ellen show, I just wish the opening song was not so long so that there could be more Ellen monologue. She is so funny. I dvr the shoe and the song goes on for over 2 minutes of tape before Ellen starts. We love you Ellen so shorten the song.
