Today Ellen featured the incredible group Rescue Ink on the show. This group of tattoo-covered, motorcycle-riding guys does what it takes to stop animal abuse! (Within the law, of course!) To learn more about the group and the amazing work they do, you can take a look at their website here.

Rescue Ink now has a show on the National Geographic Channel. You can find more information about it here. The group also has a book about the work that they do. To purchase it, go here.

As a thank you for protecting the animals that can't protect themselves, Ellen gave $10,000 of Halo Pet Food to the group to make sure the animals have a healthy diet. To learn more about Halo, go here.

Ellen!
I was sitting in traffic the other day and I was watching a guy walk his dog. The guy looked like he was heavy with sadness and his dog was just walking with his 4 little legs doing double time... a pug I think. SO cute:) The guy was fishing around in his pocket for a treat and he really wanted to find a treat the way he was fishing around but came up with an empty pocket so he did the next best thing and he bent down to give his dog a two stroke pet and the dog was like in its own little enjoying his doggie walk and was visually alarmed of this big hand coming down over his head and it startled him and I could just think what the dog must have been thinking of, "What's that? hey... do you mind?! I'm trying to walk here!" It just struck me as funny and it brought a smile to me and joy from this sight. So cute ... a guy and his dog. The guy thinking I love my dog I'll give him a treat oh.. I ran out of treats...darn... I'll give him a pet. The dog thinking ... my owner is depressed .. poor guy...oh well.. I get to go for a walk and get treats from time to time... I smell food.. just up this hill... hope my owner is happier after the walk. .. I love walks... hey whats that? ok... thanks for the pet... a little hard..easy!... oh man.. the things I have to put up with... but I love him... I don't know but what I do know is that dogs are awesome and they know more than you think they do! Made my day. I think being stuck in traffic gives you opportunities to stop and observe the world around you and enjoy. Maybe its not a dog and a guy... maybe its a black bird moving a leaf on the ground frantically looking for food. or the old woman on the corner waiting to cross... what is she thinking... what is she doing... or the car next to you... what is going on with them?... do they need to get in my lane? if so.. I will let them over!
