Answer: Patrick Dempsey
As a teenager, he placed third in his age group at the National Jugglers Convention.
He suffers from dyslexia.
He auditioned for the starring role on "House." He didn't get it, but soon after was cast in a
different role as a doctor.
His organization hosted a fundraiser in October that raised over a million dollars for
cancer research and treatment.
Hi Ellen:
You rock! My little sister (she's 27) and I love you. She can't watch you as much because she's a children and youth social worker. So when there's a super good show on I'll call her and tell her about it. She has Cystic Fibrosis so when she's home or in the hospital she watches a lot. We love you because you have a positive attitude towards life and you love to dance. I'm a cancer survivor and as I've mentioned she has Cystic Fibrosis. She has had to fight for her life since she was an infant. I had it easy I only had an instance. Although I almost lost it. We lost our mother to breast cancer. It is the pain we carry with us to this day. But we all love to dance. The whole family. Get us together and play music and we are a force to be reckoned with! With the exception of my sister Sheri, she can't wiggle! Anyhow, Ellen, Buffy and I love you. Wish you could help her some way she works so hard, it's a miracle that she has lived this long. She insists on not going on "the system"

I wanted to tell you that you are GREAT!!!!! When ever I am having a bad day all I have to do is turn your show on and my day is all better now. You can always seem to put a smile on my face..I try to watch your show everyday but I have 3 kids and is hard with their schedules. I dont have tivo so cant record..but anyways i wanted you to know you are doing a great job and keep up the great work

Ellen I love your show and love seeing you make people laugh. times a tough all over you make life easier for alot of people. I live on disablity and know about hard times and not having much cash left after bills. I just keep praying times will get better for all and they get back to work soon. Dear Ellen, I just love your show no matter how difficult life is getting for everyone you still seem to put a smile on alot of peoples faces, including mine... I record your show because i do not get to sit and watch it till about 8pm or after, but its sooo worth it...

I am so upset right now! I was as usual watching the show this morning and saw that 20 lucky viewers had a chance to win a Sony Playstation3. Being a single mom with teenage boys I thought wow that would be great to win and save for Christmas. This is a gift I really could not afford on my own. So imagine my disappointment when I came to enter the draw and realized that it is only available for US residents. :(

I just wanted to say that you are the light at the end of the tunnel! You are the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! You have a true talent for spreading smiles on everyone's face and bringing joy to people's hearts...as far as Im concerned...if you took away anything from this life, know that you have done wonderful things in our time of gloom otherwise known as a recession. I pray that everyone is able to keep their cable so they can either watch you everyday or DVR your show so that they too can have some sunshine for at least an hour a day. You are an inspriration!

During this troubling period of what is mostly unemploment, my girlfriend, Cinthya, and I are happy to have your show to watch to make our day a little brighter! So much so that we will be coming to watch your show live for the first time Dec 1st. We loved your Jim Carrey show; in fact it was Jim coming up to me shooting the breeze (about Jiu-jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts-he's trained before and I'm an ex Pro fighter) at 3am in the freezing morning when I worked as a backround Actor years ago on "Bruce Almighty" that made me later decide to move out to LA to try my hand at acting. While I'm still poor, I'm happy that I made the crowd laugh in the tile-store toilet scene opposite the little kid in "Couples Retreat". Well, I'm off to Japan for one last hurrah to compete in the Daidojuku (Karate) Kudo World Championshps but I'll be back in time (albiet probably with a black eye) to get some good laughs watching your show next to my girlfriend. Thanks for cheering America up.

Ellen! I was so excited to hear your team is participating in Movember. What an amazing cause to help raise awareness and funds for prostate and testicular cancer. I'm a little over a week in and my 'stache is coming in nicely! Thanks for your support!
