In Jonathan Safran Foer's book, "Eating Animals," he takes a critical look at factory farming, which produces most of the meat, dairy and eggs in our country. At these huge, industrial farms, animal cruelty is widespread and the farms are major sources of pollution and disease. The conversation about factory farms goes far beyond just his book. You can learn more at his website Eating Animals. He also worked closely with the organization Farm Forward, which works to transform the way our nation eats and farms.
As we approach the holiday season, the topic of factory farms is more relevant than ever. If you're interested in what Jonathan has to say, take a look here.

We had a CAFO expansion close to us a few years back. When asked about total water usage, the figure given averaged out to only one ounce of water a day per cow. When the rules were being laid down, I could see them looking at each other like it was a joke. People emailed our handy-dandy lt. governor and she came to our area (just to pass within half a mile of them). She instead went directly the the CAFO's ground-breaking ceremony and referred to the ones who damaged a well, damaged a stream, and gave bogus infomation as "an example to other farmers".
I've been drinking Almond Breeze. It has 0mg cholesterol and tastes great.
