Message from Ellen -- Week of November 2 - 6

Ellen DeGeneres' Message!

I had a spooktacular week! I spent it scaring my guests for Halloween. I got Taylor Swift and Katie Couric. And Kellie Pickler got so scared that she broke a nail. Wow, blondes are so easy to scare.

Well, most blondes are. I'm impossible to scare. But that hasn't stopped my staff from trying. And failing. This year they tried to scare me while Jimmy Kimmel was here. Luckily, Jimmy came to my rescue.

Also, the talented young actress Gabourey Sidibe from the upcoming movie "Precious" was on the show. Even though it was her first time here, she seemed right at home busting a move. She could not have been more adorable.

Since Halloween is over, I had to think of something else to do to keep busy. So I officially changed the name of November to Dough-vember. And all month I'm gonna give away lots of dough. Not actual dough, I'm gonna give away cash, but Cash-vember didn't sound that great.

And, this weekend ends Daylight Savings Time. Don't forget to set your clocks back, because you're not gonna want to miss a second of next week's shows! I've got so many fantastic guests; the always unpredictable Pamela Anderson, the hilarious Amy Poehler, the super talented Mo'Nique and the one and only Mariah Carey are all stopping by!

Have a great weekend!

Ellen

Dear Ellen. I enjoy your show each day..After 21 years of marriage,my husband served me divorce papers on april 3,2009. We have 3 beautiful kids and a grandson(jack)who is 3 years old. I worked for 15 years for the State of Michigan.. I subcontracted so I was not able to get unemployment..HUD took a cut back and my contract was not renewed.Oh How I wish I could win anything from your show. I would be thrilled if it was $10.00. I have never won anything in my 47 years of being on this earth. Not even bingo..I wish I could come and see your show. You and your wife make such a great couple...I have not had any new clothes in 2 years. My soon to be ex-husband has not bought me anything in that time..
The jobs here in Michigan are few and far between. I wish so bad I could visit your show. I have not been anywhere outside of My hometown in 7 years..You are truly blessed..I love you and keep up all that you do.. You are such a giving person....peace be with you, Kathy Hoffman-Dundee, Michigan

Hi Ellen, Watch you every day. I`m a manager of a hotel that`s where people go when the times get tough. It seems like this year it`s been worse. I have problems keeping people in rooms, they don`t have the money. It would be good to do something for these people if only for a day. I would do it but I don`t have the funds. Most are on SSI and they don`t have much. I try to help when I can but I have bills to pay also. I`m not asking for much, maybe a bar-b-q.

Thank-you

Bad backs....they are awful..mine started over 25 years ago when my youngest daughter was born...all it takes is to bend over and pick up something, anything...and then PAIN like you wouldnt believe...have had all the tests...diagnosed with slipped discs..over the years the only thing that works....drugs and rest..also heating pads...hang in there, you know it will get better but in the meantime, it's a real pain in the .... back...sorry, Ellen...I feel your pain.

Dear Ellen,
I watch your show everyday. My daughter started kindergarten this year and made me promise not to watch it without her. So, everyday after school its the first thing we do together:} Then homework. I've been a stay at home mom since she was born and my husband lost his job and then his unemployment. I've been trying to find a job, if been a server and bartender for over 10 years. I live in Michigan and my husband and I haven't had any success finding employment. My husband has started watching you with us and thinks your hilarious as well. Thank you for brightening up our day.---Rebecca Sampson Westland, MI

You always make my day. Sometimes too much serious can cause more pain. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR SHOW. Some of your friends are hilarious like the Dolly Parton look-a-like. Ha!!! Funny!!! mY NAME IS fRENCH. IT looks like a mans name but i truly am a woman.

Dear Ellen, today when you shot money into the crowd and the women in the wheel chair got up to pick up some i thought of myself i use a chair to but can walk about 30 feet before falling but i'd been trying to pick it up to, but after jim huged her she looked like the bending had gotten to her. we my husband and i watch every day and no more vcr that ate tape we got a dish and now your number 1 in the priority list. the hour we spend with you is are time to not worry about bills, doctors,or anyone that raises its shaggy head asking for money for 1 hour we laugh, we watch and be entetained by you and your staff.
