Hi Miss Ellen,my name is Shannon and first of course I love your show, but I was also wondering if you knew anything about porphyria. It is a rare blood disease that I have and there is no cure for it. I just wanted to find a way to let my younger sister know how proud of her I am and to make sure my children know how much I do love them no matter what happens. I know you are the type of person to help let people know these things and I wondered if you could help me to do this before there is nothing left to help me keep going. If you know what I mean. My sister is always telling me I can do it even when I think I can't. She is along with God of course one of my strongest strengths to keep going and my children are number one. I won't be here forever but my sister has accomplished so much on her own with 5 children and helping me of course. She even finished school. I just wondered if you could help and I really understand if you can't. I love you anyway and wish you both the best....always.

I would love to say that my family and myself also love you here in Canada. I know it's not as easy for Canadians to get their comments through, but I hope mine will. Just want to say, Congrats to you and your soul mate and love your show. Just watching your show makes our day full of fun and laughter. I know you must hear everyday how hard it is for many people, but if you would hear my story people that know us and what we are going through don't even believe that we are still alive and keeping our heads above water. Just want to say how much heart you have for all the human race. If there is anything you could do for my failmy or even if you could call us also, we would truely love to hear from you. Ellen I think when people see the things you do(jokes pranks)I think they are missing the point is that life is funny and that no matter what happens you, you have to roll with the punches. Life does not give one a choice. You have a love for life that is rarely seen. When going in for my cancer treatment The nurses always ask why I was always smileing and I ask what choice was I given,no one ask me if I wanted it. My spouse had cancer a couple years after that and was scared to death but because of what I had learned I got him thru his. There are 2 kinds of People in this world takers and givers and you my funny friend are a giver. Thanks for something to laugh at and the O mag was great. It was good to see the two most caring people sharing together and giving others something to share. Keep being Ellen we ask no more from you than this. Stay healthy stay happy and good things will always be yours.

What was you x-mas like as a child? Was your family excited to put the x-mas deocrations out and did you do it together or fight and then mom ended up putting them out? Were you ever able to afford for your Mom and you and siblings to go during the holidays for x-mas events like the lighting of the tree in NYC or skate at rockerfeller plaza? Or be on a show like yours JUST TO ENJOY THE SEASON? It seems at my house my dream has always been to take me and my girls some where like your show, Oprahs show, NYC shopping for the holidays, Kansas City for that matter its only 3 hours away shopping for the holidays and just spend it together having fun with no worries. How can people do that and afford it? I try to do the simple things like music and put the tree up but they hate it and fight and baking cookies but they stop helping after three are made and watching x-mas shows the Grinch or White Christmas my FAVORITE SHOW by the way they think I am crazy. I wish I was rich and could just shop for everyone, to just give a guy down on his luck money a gift card or food as I walked by. Is life really like that? You seem to make dreams come true and really mean it! You make the impossible possible and ask nothing in reutrn. I wish people still believed in doing something for nothing the world would be a better place and it makes you feel good at least me. Its not the money it helps of course but to hold the door for someone or let them have your parking spot to hold the elevator for someone.You and your family have a Merry X-mas and God Bless you for all you do and the memories you make maybe someday we will be in the audience but remember we will be there if not in person we will be watching. Just wanted to know that I love your show and I brought my first copy of O magazine last week. I honestly brought it because you were on the cover and because I wanted to read your interview. You bring a lot of joy and laughter to a lot of people and I wanted to say thank you.
