Ellen DeGeneres' Message!

¡Hola, amigos! I'm trying to learn Spanish, so I signed up for the Spanish version of Twitter -- it's called Birddi. I managed to crash their site and became the most followed user -- in one day! ¡Loco!

Actually, I was a busy birdie all week. I sent Jeannie to Florida to give away a car. Also, I attempted to scare people in a super-sized version of Startlebucks. And, Jimmy Smits taught me some sexy Salsa moves.

Speaking of dancing, I started a new segment this week called "I Think You Can Dance" for the eliminated dancers from "So You Think You Can Dance." We had some amazing dancers on the show, including Shelby Skipper and Bryan Boyer.

Next week is going to be busy as well. Hayden Panettiere is gonna stop by, and you won't believe who shows up to dunk her in our dunk tank! Also, Mario Lopez is gonna bring his dimples on the show. Plus, two talented ladies, Lauren Graham and Hilary Swank will be here. And, sometime during the week, I'll try to scare Tony to get him ready for Halloween.

We're also gonna have another big Twitter hit in San Diego. Who knows where we'll be next?! So if you're not following me on Twitter or Birddi, you'll miss out!

Hola! Ellen,

You're learning Spanish from birddi, I've learned one phrase that Rick Sanchez, an Hispanic who's on CNNNewsroom from 3 - 4 o'clock, Mon-Fri and he has a segment called Las Photos Del Dia, photos of the day. I know only a few words, gracia, buenos dios (sp?) but with Rick being bilingual, it's fascinating to listen to him when he needs to talk in his native language.

How do you say "goodbye" in Spanish?
Spanish is spoken in more countries than I was aware of.

dear Ellen, im a caregiver i write you 3x already i hope this time you can read my letter..my lady her name is sheila she is 89 yrs. old on sept. 4... 2yrs. ago i got a ticket in your show but we are standby my lady is in the wheelchair and when the date is already near she got sick..and this year i got a ticket again for both of as and standby again...she is in the wheelchair pls.. ellen she likes you verymuch i hope this year we can get or her only a space for wheelchair...can you give her a gift and this is a best gift pls.........thank you

I AM WRITING TO YOU FROM CARLSBAD, CA JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I REALLY ENJOY YOUR SHOW, THE DANCING, YOUR GUESTS, THE GAMES, ETC, ETC. MY DAUGHTER ALSO WATCHES IT WITH ME WHEN SHE IS NOT WORKING. I DON'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO GET TICKETS TO YOUR SHOW BECAUSE I WOULD NOT DRIVE TO LOS ANGELES. I JUST STARTED ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO TO GET ON THE FREEWAY. Hey Ellen just wanted to say how great your show is and how many laughs you give my husband and i when i watch and he listens(my hubby has been blind for 8years)to your show. I love the fact that alot of the laughs are from just everyday things that we all do and you just have the knack of making them seem so funny, which they are! We are from downunder and live in a town called Chittaway Bay which is about 1hr 30mins north of Sydney. I always think how great it would be to come over and be in your audience, maybe one day? Im my husbands carer as when he lost his sight he also had a stroke and brain haemorage so obviously we havent been able to travel but our youngest child, a son just turned 17 today and we feel he is capable of staying home alone now so we are going to try and see how we both cope flying????We are going to fly to Melbourne in about 2weeks to our daughters so im a bit worried but we think if we dont try we will never know! We have been married for 31years which around 25years of my husband has had health problems but the last 8 years has had the most devastating affect on his life and mine in a different way. But we have three great kids,unfortunately we did lose a little boy, but overall we think we are very lucky. The stories you have showed to do with the Katrina Hurricane and your kindness and generosity in helping as many as you have is wonderful and if there was more people as inspiring as you are when any person needs a hand aand you are willing to help, well wouldnt the worlds problems be solved so much more quickly and also with compassion? Thankyou for just being you Ellen love from oz xx

Just wanted to let you know. On Tuesday's airing your hair was absolutely adorable! You should wear it like that always!!! I did not care for it on Monday's show, but you really looked pretty and well rested on Tuesday's show!

Ellen,
Saw your show today. I cried my eyes out.
I was/am a victim of domestic abuse.
Before it was emotional/physical............now new relationship, emotional abuse. I also had the MOTHER/ MOTHER IN LAW that blamed everything on ME.
If your own mother doesn't offer help, WHY bother to tell anyone else?
I showed the check-out lady at the food store the US" cover today. I told her what an important story was within.
I am now on foodstamps, blah,bla,......self-employed for 17 years, economy killed my business, living with my 23 year old , both of us are on depression meds...lost our healthcare insurance, etc.
WE would LOVE to start our own RANCH for domestic violence survivors, but cannot even pay our own bills.
What's to happen to US when our Meds run out?????
Just wanted to tell you that today's show touched HOME.

I have a haben how loves whoching your show evey day. He tack caer of me and my cheldren. I have a lot of hath probloms and he has lost meny jobs becaus of them. I love him veary much and I do not know what I can do for him to show him just how much I Love him. We are geting marred in Nov. 13th 2009. He whed Love to come to your show but I do not have that cind of money to get him there. Even I like your show to but some times I do not get to see all of your show becaus I have to go and lay down. If there is eney thing you can do our tell me pless tell me. We do not have much maney to do much to the pont that some times I can't pay all of my bills. So some times I have to ast some of my frinds to help me. Your frind

Hi Ellen,

I have a complaint. No one ever gives anything away to Oklahoma. I live in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Its like everyday some star gives something away in the big cities. What about the mid-size to small cities? We need free stuff too. Anyways, love your show when i get to watch it which is hardly never because i have to work the hours that you are on. Better go! Lunch is over.

Hola Ellen, Como estas? Usted es muy divertido! Me gusta ver tu programa mucho! Una ves mi hermana y yo viene a su programa! If you need help with Spanish just let me know. Vowels a-ah, e-a,i-e,o-o,u-ou. So just practice saying your Spanish words with the vowel sound. There is also a soft r, r-rea, hard rr with a trill, put the tip of the tongue to the roof of the mouth blow a little air on it rrr, for double rr, to prononce that. Estoy en Puerto Rico hoy,(I am in Puerto rico now). The Puertoricans have there own dialect of Spanish, so they have words of their own for certain items. It is called "Boricua", so I am learning that now. One has to be careful, because some regular Spanish words have no meaning here(and people stare at you)or worse are bad words or curse words in "Boricua"!

You make me laugh daily. Things have been challenging in my life to say the least, But you give me the humor to start each day out great. Thank you and all you do for Breast Cancer research.
