My whole family is such a big fan of the Ellen Degeneres Show--my husband, myself, our 7-year-old, down to our 2-year-old. You cannot imagine how DISAPPOINTED and (pardon the language) DISGUSTED we were when you rewarded that seven year old child for STEALING his parents' car!!! Why??? And for what??? For getting something that was not his? For being left unsupervised? For doing something dangerous and unsafe? For running away from authorities? We are immigrants here in Canada, and we come from a developing country. We grew up seeing children walk for miles and miles in very undesirable conditions just so they could get to school. We see children (as young as 3 years old) working just so they could help their parents earn money to buy the most basic of human needs, like their family's NEXT MEAL. And then we see you guys rewarding a seven-year-old juvenile delinquent. I'm sorry but I simply cannot sit here and not say anything about it!
I can't believe it..... that you would... really think like.... I'm your sister.... can you explain two people look totally different... but you would say 'twin'.... can you explian on that please... you really think so?.....
I am a HUGE fan of Ellen's show and have been since the first episode. I watch it everyday, many times with my 3 kids. But I cannot believe that you all rewarded that 7 year old little boy with that VERY expensive play car for STEALING his father's car. I have 3 small children of my own and I would never give them any reward for breaking such a huge rule, let alone a dream car any child would love. I was so disappointed that this happened. What kind of message does that send to this little boy and other children? Break the law and you get to go on a popular talk show and get extravagant gifts?? Absolutely ridiculous!
Ellen!
Katherine is going to make a great mommy!
I hope the pops give her and her baby basic human right to have space...to not be chased hounded but to be left alone. It's crazy that people do this to other people. So you stop and say here take some pics of my baby and then leave us alone... you got your pics... leave! A lot of celebs do this and I think it helps celebs have space.
I don't know the answer but we all have to respect each other's privacy even if famous is part of the equation. Their has to be balance.
Safety and privacy and respect.....
I love your shows, watch them every day. Was very disappointed today(friday Sept 11th 2009). over the little 7 year old boy who was on your show, got applauded and a gift for stealing his dads car, even though you told him it was wrong i think it sent the wrong message to kids who think to get on your show just steal a car plus youwill get a gift. This is the first time I have EVER been disappointed in you.

23 years ago this October 30, our daughter Maria came home from Korea. She was 4 months old at the time. I am so excited for Katherine and her husband and know exactly what they are going through right now. It was for us our dream come true. She is our only child. She's a beautiful young woman today. Congratulations to them and best wishes.
I just have to say that I am so impressed and touched by the fact that Katherine and her husband are adopting a special needs baby. As the mother of a special needs child, I can tell you that is will be the hardest, most heartbreaking, stressful, strenuous job they can ever take on. However, the rewards are so many! Her smile, her hugs, her kisses and love just brighten my day every day.
I have seen my daughter go through twelve surgeries, countless doctor visits and so much pain and frustration. My devotion to her cost me my marriage, but I would never, ever change a thing. Perhaps if I had alot of money my marriage might have been saved, but alas, it was not meant to be. I don't regret any of it.
