Ellen,
I love your show and the person you are! I wanted to tell you my story. My older sister and I were in a bad auto accident in 1979 leaving her mentally 17 and me with internal disabilities... at the time my mom was dyeing of cancer and passed in 1981... we are now 48 and 47 I have taken care of my sister for years and when she got married I immediatly stepped in to help, two kids later and divorced she is on welfare. I pay her rent, pay for most of her kids birthday parties, gifts, clothes. I take them on vacation twice a year, I furnished their home and go the extra mile at Christmas never asking for anything in return. I also live with my elderly father who is 89 been thru several storkes and heart surgery. October 2010 i had a double mastectomy and reconstruction from breast cancer, needless to say that sister was not there for me. I lost my job and the boss i had at the time cancelled my health insurance 2 months prior to my leaving sticking me with medical bills i can not pay (long story) all thou i am disappointed in my sister who gets $ from everyone, i still pay her rent and have backed off on a lot of things for the kids as unemployment is my life, i now either pay my bills or take care of my sisters kids I can not do both anymore. I am not complaining, i love my family but I put myself last for a long time actually put my life on hold to make the kids happy who did not deserve what their parents put them thru, as u may guess they consider me more of a second mom and am paying for it with bills beyond my control! medical,on verge of loosing my truck, no health insurance, credit cards etc.. I have never asked for assistance and feel ashamed to be writing this to you. Please consider helping me if you can it would be greatly appreciated and humbling to have something done for me for a change - Thank you! Suzanne, New York

Hi Ellen,
I have been watching your show for years! You are such a wonderful, caring person! I love your show and the guests you have on them. You really do care about all your guest and audience!
I saw on the show today if you or you know someone that is struggling in this economy.
My family and I have been struggling financially for months now. I lost my full-time job this past June and then we lost our apartment in July because we could not afford it anymore. We had to move into a motel/hotel in July and we have been struggling ever since then. I have a part-time job but it is not enough to pay the bills. My husband has been ill for a long time now so he cant work at this time. We are trying to get disability but we havent been able to get it quite yet. We are waiting on moving into something we can afford. We are barely hanging on.
We need to get a more stable life for our seven year old daughter.
I am not sure if you can help us out but if you can that would be great!
Even if you cant help us I still think your show is great and you are great talk show host!
God Bless you and your family!! God Bless the Show too!!

Hello Ellen DeGeneres,

I love your show, you have amazing guests and Ellen you are a wonderful generous individual with a big heart.
I want to bring my brother, John and his lovely wife, to your attention. They have a lovely family of two young children a girl aged 4, a boy aged 6.

Over the last two years they have been really struggling, due to the economic turn down in the USA and particularly in California. Orders have been slow and business pay slower too. My brother John and family live in Valley Centre, he has had his own business making cement blocks for retaining walls, used for many uses including fire walls, retaining walls to help with the erosian problems. Typically government jobs and, residential and business to business. Now business has dried up. John has worked tiredlessly on quoteing on difficult jobs that are very time intense. Garden works, walls, ponds etc. with the last year in particular things have slowed so much, that the quotes go out to NO AVAIL, sadly this week, he phoned me and told me his bank is going to start the foreclosure procedure on his home. Time is running out.

I am in Canada, I watch your show regularly and I would like to ask you, please, to look at my brother and consider his family for your show.

Love you, god bless
Vancouver, Canada

My preschool teacher is the most caring, giving, accepting person I have ever met. She teaches 40 at risk 3-5 year olds for our school district. Each year she asks to have the most challenging children in her classroom. She greets them each day with a welcoming smile.I am amazed that she is able to maintain such a positive attitude in the midst of one financial trial after another. Today she told me that she has an inherited condition that is making her teeth fall out...she tearfully stated "my smile is all I have." Currently all her teeth are loose and could begin falling out any time...she is 46 years old. She is a single parent who pieces an income together by teaching preschool, substitute teaching, acting as swim coach, and playing piano for a local group of German/polka singers. She is a hard worker but cannot make ends meet...she also has no insurance. Can you help her find her smile again?

i had to go to texas to take care of my sister because she had to go on the peritoneal dialysis and she is only 50. she has a bad heart and the heart pill she has been on for 14years brought her kidneys down. I work 72 hours a week but i had to go to her because i am all she has. now that im home i cant get caught up. my son had a sezure last week and now he doesnt have a way to work and is about to loose his job. I live in a one bedroom apartment and i cant help him because i dont have the money. if you could help me in any way i would be thankful God bless you Ellen and i love your show.

Hi Ellen, I'm going to ask for some help for my dauther. She lives in a house in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove, Il. Susie has an autisic daughter, a sweet, smart little girl. Needless to say she is a handfull, and I think my daughter is a saint. Her house is very neglected, needs new drivway, roof and so on. Having a challenged child is very expensive and she and her husband can only do so much. Making ends meet is struggle. They are always short and we try to help out as much as possible, but we are having a hard time too. Can you help in anyway? I'm staring to worry about her and her husband. They are at a breaking point. Thanks for your attention. Millie G

Hi Ellen. My husband and I will have been married three years this coming October. October 18 is our anniversary. We met at MCF (Minnesota Correctional Facility)- Shakopee where we were and continue to be officers. My husband likes to tell people we met at a women's prison, and he is a guard. Since we have been together, I have been blessed with three children. My oldest is my step-daughter, Caryn. She is beautiful and loves to dance and sing. My next oldest is Jackson. I like to call him Jack. He also likes to dance. Quite often we turn the music up and dance around the living room. My youngest is Madelon. She is only 7 months old and has already had major surgery. She had a rare condition where two sutures in her skull fused prematurely. A neurosurgeon and a plastic surgeon worked together to correct the problem. She was in the hospital a week. As a mother, it was extremely hard to watch my little girl go through such an event. The first few days her head was extremely swollen, and she couldn't even open her eyes. She is a little trooper and is quickly recovering. Needless to say, the medical bills are quickly adding up. With my husband and I being state employees are funds are low, and we are having trouble paying our medical bills along with our other expenses, such as our leak in our basement ceiling. Once Madelon is fully recovered it would be nice for my husband and I to be able to save a little money and take her siblings and her on vacation. Caryn would vote to go to Walt Disney World and see the Harry Potter exhibit. I love my family so much, especially my loving husband who has been such a great support to me, and I would love to surprise them with something that would bring a huge sigh of relief and a smile. By the way, your show is awesome. I especially love the dancing. Any show with dancing - So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars, etc. - is fun to watch...your show being the most fun. Thank you for listening.

Ellen,
I just found out my eldest sister (she is 58)was diagnosed last week with terminal brain/lung cancer. I cannot even express to you how I am absolutely destroyed over this news. Her house is going into forclosure. All her life she took care of our Mother, and raised a daughter by herself. I cannot help her anyway financially. I am pleading for some kind of help for her, so she can fight the battle without worrying about her home.
Please Ellen, choose her, her name is Pamela Sanderson and I love her so much, my heart is breaking. I trying to find humility and grace throughout this, but all I want to do is climb in bed and cover my head up and forget about the world.
Regards,
Doreen Sanderson Kirby

Hi Ellen. My name is Barbara and i have a son. At this time I do not have a job. I really try to work by taking online surveys and focus groups online but that does not help. when i gave birth to my son i had a very hard time to stop bleeding. After six months i went to the doctor for my GYN check and two weeks later I got a letter in the mail stating that I was in my first stage of CANCER. It blew my mind away. I had a little treatment but what scares me is that it could have done nothing to me.It has gotten so bad for me that I have sold my gold and I have pawned some stuff just so i know my son can have things he needs. I don't know if I can always be there for him. That keeps me up at night while I cry.

Thank you for your time Please write back to me.

I having been trying to send my story about my amazing daughter many times using the available application. It keeps getting rejected even though it is less than 1500 characters including spaces. What do I do?
Thank you for your response!

Dear Ellen:
You asked if we knew someone who really could use your help, well I sure do. She is my cousin, Stacey Sliker. Stacey is married and two sons. She was the primary caretaker for her mom and Dad for years. Her Mother died two years ago. Then she continued taking care that Dad was okay. He had many heart problems, surgeries, etc. The list is too long here. She was always there for both her mother and father, one of four children. She got Hep C from blood when her oldest son was born. The disease has taken its ugly toll on her and her family. She has been there for Linda, Dad's frind. Again so much more. Presently, her home is flooded, no heat, needs a new roof, husband, Rick works very hard, suffering from PAD has had stints put in but needs a Bypass, insurance does not cover it presently. They need a roof on their home, she is trying to do counseling for so much. I had her save and she just came to visit me in Florida for 10 days, only to go home to rain, wind storms, a home without heat, and then snow and 34 degrees on Friday. Needless to say, she is slipping back into severe depression once again. The worst has happened to her as a teenager, but I cannot tell in a letter. Please send her back to me here until she is able to return to a home in tact. Her adopted, second son, leaves for the Marines on June 2nd. The oldest works, a recovering addit with a new life and trying to get more time with his daughter, Cameron, but Vinny, her mother is fighting it because David is engaged to marry someone else. Funds are not available or will not be there to help this family at all. They just almost, get by. It is good!!

Please consider helping them, she so deserves any help you can do to help her back on her feet. The next few years she is facing a liver transplant or die.
God less you and your partner.
I just love your show.
From the bottom of my heart thank you Ellen.

I was a Pastor's wife. I worked everyday for 25 years without pay. As pastor’s wife as I was mandated by God, Religion, my spouse and denomination to work as a servant for free. My ex-husband was fired from 3 denominations for Adultery and Moral failures. He was fired 3 times by Rod Parsley for moral failure and Adultery. He forces me to relocate our Ministry from Pickerington, OH to Grand Island, Florida in 01/2004. Where we signed land contract on a house. After only 9 months in Florida we were bankrupted by the Hurricanes. In Oct of 2004 he forced me to return to Pickerington, Ohio and abandoned me and my 3 children. Where my husband leases an apartment for $1200 a month. He blames loosing everything on me. He beats me, leaves and abandons me with three children with one child handicapped. After signing the lease he leaves and goes back to Florida. He shacks up with a woman 15 years younger than him who has already been divorce twice but owns her own home. I became homeless in less than 2 months. I lived in basements, garages for 6 months. I then returned to New York to live with my mother for 10 months. My mother went into a nursing home and I return to Ohio in Nov 2006. My ex-husband filed false allegations against me with Children's Services. My children were taken away in December of 2005. I spent 21 days in a mental facility after having a nervous breakdown. When I got out my children were gone and I had no choice but to go to work. I lost my home, my children, my family, my health and almost everything.
I did not see my youngest daughter for 6 months than his wife kicked her out and she return to me in OH. Then, I did not see my youngest son for 3 and half years. I finally got custody of my youngest son in April of 2009. I have not seen my other son Yaheshua, who was born handicapped for 4 and half years that I raised 24/7 for 14 and half years. I worked for temporary agency for over a year. Than, I worked for several other places until April of 2008. My last place of employment, HMS Host at Columbus Airport. I fell three different times due to poor work conditions. Not having the proper non slip mats. I filed complaints with OSHA and the Company Hot-line. I was threatened by three different Managers and the head Manager. Then the Head of the Airport Authority, came through my line and talked to me. She called Manager on her cell phone and said that I had made derogatory remarks about my Manager. With no prior record of misconduct I was fired on the spot. Because I had called the Company Hot-line which was suppose to be anonymous. Although I got a phone call from the Head Quarters while at work and was immediately called in to Managers office and told if I ever called the Hot-line again I would be fired. I have been on unemployment for over 47 weeks and am ending in two weeks
I have lived on $762 a month for two years with a rent of $440. I have lived in abject poverty scrapping by on meager fair and it sucks. I'm Tired of life not being fair a there being no one to care. While my ex-husband who lies on his taxes or does not report them or lets his current wife claim his income when she in incapable of doing his business job. He works self-employed so he does not have to pay taxes or have his child support or alimony deducted. He owes me over $100600 dollars in back child Support and alimony. While he gets off Scott-free hiding in Florida. It sucks I have lived on $762 a month for two years with a rent of $440. I have lived in abject poverty scrapping by on meager fair and it sucks. Not a country and government full of greed and corruption. This is supposed to be the United States of America, a government by the people for the people. Not a country where politicians feel entitled to steal all he the money they can., to hide it in the mouths or pockets like greedy little chipmunks. Legal-aid should help anyone who has an open case that has back child support alimony and was started because of abuse and abandonment. Where are all the honest men full of integrity? Like, the ones that I knew growing up as a child like my like my uncles and father and grandfather Broke alone and tired

Hi Ellen, I love how you make me laugh everyday, thank you. My husband smiles everytime he hears me laugh, cause he knows its time for Ellen. Anyway I would like to tell you our story. First of all my husband owned his own painting company for 25 years. But, five years ago he lost his vision, completely to diabetes. Of course a blind painter makes no money. I actually have to lead my husband by the arm everywhere, we call it the blond leading the blind. Without you and my sense of humor I don't know if we could make it. I am asking you for help very humbly. Actually this is hard for me but, I know how wonderful you are. Everything that comes in the mail seems to be a shut-off and I can't seem to keep my head above water. Our anniversary is april 15th and I can't even treat my husband to a real present. We love you for making me laugh. Keep smiling, it looks good on you. Love Kelly Scala.
