Everyone is talking about Ellen's surprise announcement that she is the
new "American Idol" judge! It was such a surprise, Tony didn't even
know about it! Watch now as Ellen explains how it came about and what
she's planning for her new gig.
At first I thought it was good idea bringing Ellen on American Idol as a judge, however after watching last night's show I'm starting to change my mind. It was quite apparent that Ellen is not really able to offer useful criticism to help the contestants. After hearing her say a few times that she liked someone's singing but then not being specific about areas they need to improve it became obvious she lacks the essential musical background to qualify as a good judge. She also seemed hesitant to state her opinions, as though she knows she is not an expert and doesn't want to say the wrong thing. I'm disappointed because I thought it would be fun and cool having her on the show.
To finish from my last post it would make me the happiest person in the world to able to come to your show. Ellen I can not wait to see u on AMERICAN IDOL I THINK U WILL BE GREAT FOR THE SHOW!!!I Have read some of the comments and some people r so RUDE!!BUT Ellen u will be great for the show.please consider me winning tickets to yr show its my dream I would love to play musical chairs it always makes me laugh and yr show makes my day!! love your show!! ok first i would like to let ellen know that she is a good person and you make me feel good about my self. I want to make a comment on that fella Kanya , Im not even sure that is how you spell his name, I think that this man has some problems as far as drinking and drugs, he needs help. I think it was wrong what he did to Tayler and Bionce, that was disrespectful. My self I think he needs help and he should get it. I feel sorry for him everything seems like its going down hill for him. He needs to get a grip on life and live life as if there is no tomorrow, instead of destroyeing everything that he worked so hard for. But anyway, I love your show Ellen and I dont watch the other show that you will be on after the other lady leaves, but I will make a point to watch it. I love your show, keep up the good work.You make a lot of people happy.

Congrats on begin the new host of american idol I think thats great its about time they finally got somebody that has a real good sence of humor on the show. I was reading some of your comments and one really stood out that I didnt like, some people can really be negative. Well where i'm from we call people like that haters.Haters aren't born their made.

I have been watching your show everyday as I was made redundant about a month ago. I would just like to say Antonio Banderas is a gorgeous man and seems realy down to earth.
His comment "Faceoff" really made me laugh, it reminded me of my old boss.
He used to call Facebook "Spacebook".
It's funny how people come up with a different spin off of names for different things.

I'm glad you'll be a judge. A fan of good music! "Would I buy that record?" It'll be great! And you are a far more compassionate, sensitive, and professional human being than that lump that just tried to ruin Taylor Swift's moment at the VMA's. What a bozo! How crass, unprofessional and rude. I turned the channel. He made her uncomfortable on stage.....jerk.

I posted a comment a few days ago against Ellen taking Paula's seat! It was deleted. Don't let the positive posts fool you. I think there were a lot more people against this than for this. Ellen just like to sensor and shut up the truth. She is the last person I would have thought would do this...but her true colors are shinning through and they are VERY UGLY!!!
I think America is see Ellen for who she really is. A sad day for many of her fans. I can't she people with a mind staying loyal to her. Too bad for Ellen. I knew she was too go to be true. I would not want her watching my children, or even a a friend. I hate people who back stab peers and take everything for themselves. I agree with the Madoff analogy being tossed around. Especially in light of her not "rolling" with the music industry and their copy right laws. I am glad I see the truth. I hope you all do too.
Ellen do not know me so i could not be blamed in being not objective. I know Ellen gets all of this stuff and on time so she can consider these comments when she makes changes and improvements in the show . However What is seen here in these comments is an indivious attempt to harm her. Jelousy?
Im a huge Ellen fan, however I can not knowingly watch American Idol with Ellen as a judge. Fox got this totally wrong. Not having any influence or experience in the music business makes Ellen the "Court Jester" of the show. American Idol is ever more so just a TV show now rather than a show looking for the next pop star. This is merely a ratings move on Fox and American Idol's part. I am totally disgusted at this whole replacement judge nonsense and will NOT be watching the show.
I will, however still watch Ellen on her own show where she belongs. I feel she should swim in familiar waters and not go swim with the sharks.

I have been finding many different opinions on this and find this post to be one of the more enlightening on the subject. Hope we can increase the quality of responses than what I have seen as many do not seem to be very relevant. http://www.torpedogratis.co
