HI Ellen I'm from Australia and I watch your show everyday even though they always show the same, but my daughter and I watched and loved sometimes we recorded so we can watch it at night is make us laugh so much you can imagine.
I feel sorry to send you this letter to ask you for something but I'm desperate and I dont know what else to do, provably it would sound superficial but is family, I live in australia with my daughter my ex husband took the custody of my son so I have to live in australia if I want to see him, I'm from chile and I have save money during the year to go and see my family in chile but I dont have enough and I dont feel good asking for it to my family, so I was thinking that you will understand because I know how important is your family for you and the relationship that you have with you mum is amazing is make me happy everytime that you talk about her, is only for this reason that I'd like to ask you to have the opportunity to do the gold digger over here I need only 2.500 dollars.
I dont know what to say I'm sure that you realise that my writing is not the best but I hope you understand, un beso grande.
Patricia
this is my comments re-do
Hi, I am a 39 year old woman who is raising a boy who will turn 7 in October, I know our story is one of 50 million out there that you see and read. but here it goes, please keep an open mind. my son's father was never in his life from day one, later on down the line I also recieved word that he was dead, his name is not on my son's birth certificate, so i cant find out how he died. that is one small rain drop in our bucket of rain. I am a recovering adict and have been sober from drugs and alchol for about 2months and going strong, i never will go down that road again, it got me where i am today, with noth ing, i shouldnt say i have nothing i have a georgouse child, who is smart, very loving, would do anything for anyone, and bright! The problems with me is I have mental chalenges, and also physical chalenges, bad back and neck. (which keeps me down), i am waiting to see if i am accepted for disability. I have $2.00 dollars to my name, and am living in a VERY SMALL 2 bedroom apt. with my mother of 68 who is one of your bigest fans, my stepjerk, whom i have never gotten along with and 6 pets, plus ALL OF OUR THINGS, it looks like someone's storidge shed. the carpeting is almost black, I have so many bights on my arm's and no clue where they came from our what is living with us(yuck),i am terrified my son is going to get eaten alive by bugs, and there are many nights i cant sleep because of this. we sleep on a bed that rolls out from our 16yr. old coach i have bruises on my hips from sleeping on a bar that comes threw the mattress. my son has never had his own room, he plays in the middle of the family room in a very small space that is not full of cluter. this child would do anything for me and others as well, he is bright, loving , handsome, funny, and it breaks my heart every day of my life looking into thoghs bright green eyes and not having anything to offer this boy that is worth a crap. i dont know if you know what that feels like, mabey in some way(i know your life has had to hit some up's and down's). I am not as HUGE a fan,as my mother, but i do like you and your show, this is my first time to your web site, my mother told me you are always doing such wonderful things for people. I have never in my life had anything wonderful come from nowhere from a caring person, and i know there out there, i haven't been lucky enough to meet them. i would give my life to be able to enjoy that feeling with my son, we are two extreemly good people, i have always done for others, before my self, and ETHAN at such a young age has those qualities in him already. I hope I can show him a brighter picture of life, he has seen so many terrible things at such a young age. I guess all im asking will you give my email some consideration. I know we are one of MANY who cry on your sholder, please know we are good people, caring people, with no where else to turn
god bless you ellen,
sincerely, sherri wendelken and ethan wendelken your newest fans. :)xoxoxoxox
Dear Ellen,
I think its really great of you to help people out.
My name is Korynne Cooper, and I was brought into this world 15 years ago [I’m saying I’m 15] :P I live in a small town in Washington state. My mother has degenerative disc disease, and has had a lot of problems with her spine, she’s trying to get disability cause it’s a real struggle for her to work. But she has been rejected a couple times. I feel really bad for her, and the condition she is in. I know its not her fault, but since she has been having problems life has been hard for my whole family. We don’t have enough money to pay for are house, and the sewage is leaking under it- you can SMELL IT when you walk out side and if we leave the vents open. Its so embarrassing. I don’t want my friends to come over and see the nasty place I call my home.
Whoever said money isn’t everything, has never had to worry about there next meal.
Life isn’t easy, but maybe this is just the way its ment to be for us.
Thanks for your time.
Ellen, you don’t have to pick me for the Gold Digger game.
But could you say hello to my mum? Her name is Cheri Cooper and she watches your show everyday, she even gets the dog to watch..
-Love & Peace

Sheesh...all you people are pathetic...wanting handouts with all your hard luck stories. You think Ellen reads all your drivel?
Get a life..get a job.
dear Ellen:
my son is only 19 months old and he loves your show. when we are out doing our errands and i bring up the word ellen he goes nuts because he thinks your on tv right then and there. i worry sometimes with my car though. when i go do my errands i ussually have my mother my son and my 2 month old niece. i try hard not to take the kids anywere in my car because my car is a major hazard!
for one my car has no AC. its also has no heat either untill the car over heats (which only takes an half hour to over heat when ever i drive it). this hazard is very very bad because i live in texas where the summers are no lower than 100 degrees F and the winter doesnt go above 40degrees F. another hazard is that my transmission is going out which poses aproblem because i live on a hill and the cars cant see who is pulling in or out of the street. finally the most hazard is i have to hook my fan to my battery directly. this posses a threat because the battery gives a higher voltage than what is needed to go to the fan. therefore causing the wires to burn to ashes thus melting the wires protective covering exposing the wire. thus could cause a short and electrify the cars outer body without me knowing so.
the picture uploaded is of me: Timothy Nickolas Carlsen, I am 7 weeks old and need help getting to and from doctors appointments and the grocery store. My mommy jennifer currently does not have a washer and dryer and has been washing my clothes by hand. I dirty alot of clothes and eat alot of formula so she needs your help ellen to maybe make her life less stressfull so she can give more love and attention to me. I love your show ellen when i was in my mommy i would kick her really hard when i heard you come on t.v. My daddy jesse has to work long days at a place called grazie's making minimum wage. My mommy and daddy needs your help ellen.
Jennifer: Everyone is going through hard times why our family? You would not only be helping out average joes who do not work hard but you would be giving a leg up to a family in need. Congrates on your 1000 episode and being on the cover of oprah in december. hope to hear from you soon.
Dear Eleen,
My name is Mark Greenlaw II and I have a family of 6 My wife and I have been together for 10 years we are both a young couple I am 29 and my wife is 26 we have 3 children together Mark III who is 9 years old, Adriana who is 7 years old and then Zachary who is 6 years old and last year we acquired kinship of my sister n law baby Daijah who is just 1 years old. My wife and I just recently got married back in 07 while I was serving in the USA Army. The reason why we have kinship of our niece is that unfortunately her parents got hooked into the drug and abuse life and it was not safe for daijah although we have 3 children of our own we could not see daijah going thru the system and not knowing who her true family is. Since we have taken daijah we finally realize that our place is too small with big problems to raise a family of this size. The housing we are in will not transfer us to a bigger place so I am forced to find a bigger place by myself. I understand things in life are not free and that you have to work hard to get the better things in life. But at the same time my kids need a better place to grow up in. Where we live is a horror story there is no yard for the kids to play in but just a side walk with a busy street we also have a lot of activity on my street that my kids do not need to see. There are two dealers that live next to me and allow their activities to be seen by all from smoking their weed to drinking and getting rowdy all in front of my building. And due to this we keep our kids in the house to avoid them from being corrupted with what’s going on around them. Just the other night we had an individual who was yelling outside trying to fight another tenant in the building around 12:30AM. All I want is the best for my family all three of my children are currently receiving special education through the school system which may I add is a great school. All I am looking for is maybe programs that we can look into so I may be able to get my family out of the ghetto and into a place that we can call home. Right now in my state there is a 3 year waiting list for section 8 and all the housing units around here are too small to carry a family my size. The section 8 program would be the best for my family as we could find a place big enough to suite my family needs. We have also looked into the housing market but my wife and I credit are shot with scores ranging from 400 - 550 so house loans are out of the question. So with this letter I am asking if there might be other alternatives that we might be missing or if anyone has any suggestions.
Dear Ellen,
I am writing on behalf of my boyfriend, Matt. Two years ago he lost his father to cardiomyopathy, which is basically a virus that attacks the heart muscle. He lost his father when he was only 18! Now if that wasn't bad enough, just two weeks ago he lost his mother. The causes are unknown as of now, but she was unemployed meaning she had no health or life insurance of any kind leaving him and his younger brother with a $10,000 funeral and wake debt, not to mention her $30,000 of medical bills and the $115,000 mortgage on the house. Since the medical bills go to the estate and the estate is left to her kids, they have no other option but to pay all these impossible bills. This leaves them in a little over $155,000 in debt and that's not even including the tuition with schooling. This is a lot of money for two young boys.
He is only 21 and his brother is only 19. Being 22 myself I can only help so much (helping him clean his house, take care of his two adorable dogs, and have my parents help feed him). He and his brother have jobs, but the $8.00/hour at 15/hours a week can only take care of so much. Matt also goes to school full time to better his future, but I fear with all the forced growing up and the mound of stress that he has encountered he is going to crumble under the stress. I do my best to be positive in his life, but I'm afraid I can only do so much.
He is full of life and ambition, but all of this debt and responsibility might break his loving spirit. He and his brother need to stay strong together now that they lost their parents and only have each other, but I'm afraid all of this will break their bond. He cries about not having parents at his college graduation and eventual wedding. It's never right to have children bury a parent, let alone two before they are even 22!
I love your show and I love the hope you bring into the lives of millions through laughs and love. I know there are many worse off than these boys, but I hope you can hear this story and at least keep them in your prayers. Keep up the amazing work you do! You have a beautiful heart and I hope your life is filled with love and laughter!
God bless,
Tanya Galloway
hi my name is nikki and i am a twenty four year old mother of three young children. my girls are 5, 3, and 2 years old. they are my life. i am married to my highschool sweetheart. i am writting in response to the cold digger. i am in desperate need of help from an angel please. for the last four years we have been unable to give my children any xmas or birthday celebrations. my oldest daughter is going to be starting school here next month and have no money to get her school items. my husband works anywhere from 6 to 8 hrs a night trying to keep our bills paid but even that barley pays the bills. we live in a home that is slowly starting to fall apart and have no money to fix it. even though we are young we do not get the chance to have fun and go out or anything along those lines every dime or time we have is dedicated to tryin to keep a roof over our childrens heads and food in their bellys. please i have been begging for an angel for along time. thank you i do understand if we are not chosen cause there is ppl that might need to money more than us.
Hi Ellen! Just wanted to drop you a note concerning a post on here from Jenn in Toledo. I have 2 sons-Nicholas-12 (who is perfectly healthy) and Brian-8 (who has Autism-high fuctioning w/an IQ of 60...says the local school system..but performs at an IQ of 70( do not know how true that is). I understand how Jenn feels, when your child comes home from school and says..I want a friend or why some people are always pickimg on me. I was recently layed off from my job as a TA from the school my youngest son attends. Then 3 days later my husband comes home saying he was layed off after almost 20 years saying we wish you the best...give me a break!! The reason for me telling you all this is our public schools do not have enough resources for every child who is intitled to the same education as another child w/out a specific need. I do not consider Brian a special needs child, all child have the same needs, they just need to be taught in different ways and with compassion and understanding. When Jen said it broke her heart as a Mother, I understand, some days are harder than others for my son. The one thing about the degrees of Autism effects way to many children in our society and the first place that needs to make a HUGE change is in our schools. Also if parents would explain to their children that we are all different and yet all have a special gifts and just because someone is different, does not mean they do not feel, care and love like everyone else. Please help our children have a voice and bring Autism to the spot light where it belongs. To Jenn and all the parents who have a child with Autism, we were given a special gift and what we do with it is totally up to us....Education is the first step to making a change in our society today. Thanks for reading my story Ellen. Teresa from Randleman,NC. Thank you for all the people you help and touch on a daily basis...please keep up the Wonderful work and love you show to your viewers, I feel like you are a friend that I have never met!!
My Dearest Ellen
My name is Joy and I am only 44 years old. I watch your show everyday now. The reason I get to watch everyday is that on October 15, 2008 my life changed completely. I had a STROKE! I was was just like anyone else until that day.
My bloodpressure went very very high on me and it caused a stroke. It affected my left side. But through hard work and fighting the depression. I am still here today. I am now DISABLED they say but my GOAL in life is to make a ful recovery. I don't know when that will be but I will never give up.
Due to my medical problems I can never drive my car. I have to have someone be over my finances. But that's okay, you see I AM ALIVE AND FIGHTING EVERYDAY.
Everyone will tell you that I was always the one to take care of others. Now it's very hard for me to ask for help. But after watching and seeing all the help that you do for so many people. I had to take my chances on speaking with you. All that I would like help with is finding me a cheap golf cart. The reason for that is so that I can got to my mail box and feel as if I can still drive something. I am only 44 I am not ready to give up I want to be able to go to our lake and ride plus admire the beauty. I am so confined to my home I just want to see my yard and flowers matter afact just see what I have been missing since OCTOBER 15th the day my life changed.
I do hope you get this or a staff member does. I will be watching and waitng. If you can't help me in anywy that's okay. I have made it this far I just would like to have some freedom again
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HAEART THAT YOU HAVE AND SHOW DAILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your friend
Joy Owens
Hey Ellen...My name is Jenn, Im married with 3 children and reside in Toledo. My husband is working, Ive had to quit to care for our children who all 3 have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. 2 are high functioning and our 4 yo is classic autism and non verbal. We can never seem to get ahead, its always a car dying on us most of the time and our neighborhood is not so great anymore, the people are not very open to our children having autism and therefor unwilling to be aware. They hate us because my 4 yo has meltdowns sometimes that can be heard outside of the house, as you can imagine not being able to express yourself is very difficult for him, but he is an amazing boy and so sweet. When we think weve gotten ahead the car breaks down. Recently our boxer Bernard had a tumor on his ear that need to be removed and tested, it was quite expensive, my oldest son is best friends with that dog, he is the reason Ian came into our world and out of his world of autism. We need to get out of this place. Our neighbor next to us has been causing alot of problems with us and we have a shared driveway and she refuses to put the fence up, so my children cant play safely outside. If I dont hear from you, could you please help to raise awareness so these children all over can be accepted and understood?? My son cries everyday because he just wants friends and no one will give him a chance. We have raised him to be kind and loving so its hard to explain to him why some people can be so cruel. It breaks my heart. Thank you so much Jenn
Ellen, I love your show cause you're genuine. Congrat on your 000th show tomorrow. I hurt myself oat work and have fallen on hard times. I have a 5 year old son that lives with me more than 50% of the time and Workers Comp just doesn't cut it. I would love the opportunity to win some money. It would help a great deal. Keep up the good work. You're awsome!
Hey Ellen, I think my mom deserves to be the "gold digger", shes a single mom of two kids. Me being one of them. She has diabetes, and is having a hard time trying to afford all of her medical care such as things for her pump, things for her blood kit test and medicine. If you could please help that would be amazing. My moms an awesome mom, and she deserves to take a break and not worry about money for once.
Thanks!

Hello Ellen,
I'm a single mother of three that resides in your hometown. I'm staying on the westbank, I'm having a hard time finding employment. The jobs they do have that I know I'm qualified for are in Metairie and I have no transportation. I'm currently seeking to move downtown in an fixed income apartment, but that still leave no transportation. I'm hoping something comes thru to where I can at least get a decent job or a cash car. I have faith in the Lord that he will make it possible. I'm currently staying with my parents, but my kids are getting older and bigger and room is getting a little clustered. I just wanted to let you know that you inspire me to not give up hope because you know how hard it is in N.O. and you can relate. Thanks for the motivation
Sincerely,
Motivated
