Ellen Exchanges Gifts with Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama is gracious enough to give Ellen a snow globe to welcome her to her new studio. Ellen gives Michelle something in return, but her gift isn't quite as well planned!

For the first time ever I shut your show off. What you did to Sarah Palin today was terrible. If Obama didn't want to comment on it why did you bring it up. Did you not learn anything from your puppy incident. Do you remember how terrible that made you feel. Do you realize how terrible you have made Sarah Palin AND her daughter feel. I am sure that if Obama didn't want to make any more waves on the subject, you would not of been allowed to ask that question. But you did and Michelle answered very well. Very staged if you ask me. I have been a fan for years and very disappointed today. You owe Sarah Palin and her family an apoligy

I'm another unlucky viewer in the Atlanta, GA area that was unable to see your show today. Would it be possible to post a video of your chat with Michelle Obama on your website? I was really looking forward to seeing her.

It is in poor taste for a celebrity to endorse a political candidate

Ellen,

I decided to watch your show today because I am boycotting Oprah's show, since will not have Sarah Palin on the show. I saw you read what Barack Obama said about Sara Palin's daughter. If we are to respect Barack's feelings that the candidates children are off limits, why did you bring it up for Michelle Obama to talk about. How do we get the discuss stopped if everyone brings up the comments that Barack's has made. Is this the Democrats way of not talking about it, but still talking about it? If Barack gets into office I feel sorry for his daughters because the oldest will just be entering her teens during the 4 years that he may occupy the Whitehouse. Will you be bringing up her name if something occurs during her teen years?

Ellen, last season you said on your show that you wouldn't get political. Well, I guess you changed your mind. It's your show and you can do what you want. Well, as a fan of your show, I noticed you turned to politics and so why don't you invite the other potential "First Lady" Mrs. Cindy McCain to be a guest on your show. If your show turns political and it seems it has, then I will tune your show out. I watched your show for more than 3 yrs. now because you are entertaining, but I don't find your show entertaining when you get political. If I wanted to watch a political show during the day then I would tune into MSNBC, CNN, C-SPAN. Ellen, get back to entertainment. It's quite obvious you are promoting one political candidate on your daytime entertainment show and not all your viewers are in favor of your candidate. So Ellen, let's be gracious and ask Mrs. McCain to be a guest on your daytime entertainment show. If Mrs. McCain accepts your offer to be a guest on your show, Ellen, I hope you will be gracious to Mrs. McCain as you were to Mrs. Obama during your "fluffy" girl-talk interview.

Hi Ellen,

I was so excited when I heard that Mrs. Obama would be your guest today and then to find out that you guys were replaced with the U.S. Open (a real bummer). Mrs. Obama is a very intellegent, articulate, and classy lady. I look forward to seeing the Obamas in the White House come January 09. Peace and blessings to you both.

=0)

I really dont want Mccain as president because I believe he is too close to this administration. I'm just not sure what he is going to do or what he believes in. I hate to say it but I'm a little afraid of what he might do to our country...

Ellen,

I am so grateful for your example of kindness, generosity and laughter. To be honest, you and the Obama family both inspire me in my commitment to help others despite all of the negativity in the world.

I am so disappointed that my local CBS programming in Atlanta, Georgia (WGCL) is covering tennis instead of your premiere with Michelle Obama! I rushed home from work just to catch it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one facing this conflict. By any chance, is there anything you can do?

Great start to your new season Ellen! I urge your viewers to become informed in this election season, about the candidates and their positions. It's not that hard, they all have websites. Then there's FactCheck. It's easy to let people tell us what to think, however, great minds think for themselves.

Ellen,

I LOVE your show, and I think you are awesome. I refuse to ever watch Oprah again because of her racism against Sarah Palin. I thought you were more mature than Oprah, but I did not like your comment today about Sarah Palin. I saw your interview with John McCain. I am a republican, but have an Uncle who is gay whom I LOVE and all his friends. I think McCain was right to say that the two of your can respectfully disagree on the topic of gay marriage. It's a free world. Everyone can have their own opinions. You shouldn't keep Sarah off your show, because she has a different opinion on the topic of marriage than you do. I might not agree with my Uncle all the time, but I love him and his friends. I don't look at them and think you're gay, and I'm not therefore we can't be friends. I hope you will be more mature than Oprah and include Cindy McCain, Sarah Palin, and Joe Biden's wife.

I am so pissed off right now. We cannot even get to watch the new ELLEN show because U.S Tennis is on.

Since people like to play the game....guilt by association or tag you're it.........I find it interesting that people were not AFRAID of the damage Bush would do to the country before he got ELECTED!I wonder why people are afraid of Senator Obama?

Ellen, So glad your back with your sixth season, watch your show every day, you are the best, so glad that "Tony" is back just think he is so cute, Keep up the good work, congrats on your wedding Ginny

Ellen-I have been a great fan of yours for years. I have to say that I was disappointed in your comment to Michelle Obama when refering to Sarah Palin. "Let's not talk about her"I didn't care for that comment. I think you should have Sarah Palin, Cindy McClain and also Joe Bidens wife on your show. Let America then decide.
Disppointed in you Ellen!

Holly, I totally agree with you and thank you for saying so!!

I love Chicago!!! Its a great city!!!! Beautiful at night!

That is a really cool sno-globe Ellen!

Not only do I collect a lot of dust.. but I seem to have a lot of busy stuff around my den!.. my crib!... I have Toooooo much stuff. I just looked up dust bunnie.. its a lot of info. Some site even protrayed 'em like they were actually alive!!! LOL.. well maybe they are... they house the dust mites! Icky! Well... I learned a lot. Its true.. it doesn't hurt to ask... matter of fact.. you learn things when you ask which is probably the whole point in asking.. to learn or get a response be it direction or statement! dust mites are my allergen. I have to vacuum now! Get out my dust mite killer spray. Benzyl benzoate powder form kills mites. Tannic acid may cause an allergic reaction in some but nuetralizes the mites. See... I learned a thing or two!!! Humidifier guage and low humidity and a tidy den! I'm set! DIe Die Die you mites!!!!!

um well she is a very beautiful person but i really dont want oboma as president because i believe he is friends with bad people that i dont want to mention and if he is ellect no telling what he is going to do and also im worried about his family's safty because there are alot a people who don't like him i mean really do not like him. im not saying i hate him. he seems to be a really nice guy im just not sure what he is going to do or what he believes in. i hate to say but im a little scared of what he might do to our coutry...

Ellen, let's see if you invite Cindy McCain on your show. Cindy McCain is a remarkable person, you need to ask Cindy about the organization she is very much involved with, "Operation Smile." Cindy McCain is an awesome lady and a true humanitarian. I bet Cindy can dance too. It would be great to see Cindy and you dance too. Go for it Ellen, invite Cindy McCain to the show. Both Mrs. McCain and Mrs. Bush asked the country to remember those people living in the Gulf Coast States dealing with Hurricane Gustav to pray for us and make a donation to the hurricane relief fund. We're back home but now we are getting ready to deal with Hurricane Ike. Ellen, ask your viewers to pray for those living in TX, LA, MS, AL because it looks like Ike is heading our way.

I really don't understand why we would want someone in the white house that is purely racist, read her papers she wrote in college. It bothers me that people seem to just forget about all the bad things that the two of them have put down in writing. Actually neither choice to vote for is a good one so be glad you live in Canada if you do at this time!!!!!

Michelle is so gracious and charming. She will be a spectacular first lady.
