Ellen Exchanges Gifts with Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama is gracious enough to give Ellen a snow globe to welcome her to her new studio. Ellen gives Michelle something in return, but her gift isn't quite as well planned!

Thanks for having Michelle Obama on your show. Michelle O is such a class act and she's funny. I can't wait until she gets to the White House. Michelle's supporters, unlike Cindy's don't have a problem with Cindy McCain. Cindy is fine, but Michelle is the best. Some of you women that are upset about Michelle, you need to relax and stop hating. Open your minds and stop being so darn bigoted. Michelle is no different from anybody else with kids to raise.

I agree. Maybe you can have the show on the computer the next day after it airs, for all of us loyal fans that missed the original airing. I had a doctors appt today and missed the show. :( I tried taping it, but that didn't work. I love the Obamas and really wanted to see Michelle, so now I have to wait for the reruns I guess. :(

I really think that you should make it so we can watch your show on the computer. I'm so dissapointed that I missed it today. Congratz on your marriage. You two are beautiful together!

i live in palm springs and your show was bumped for tennis. grrrrrrr. how can we see it again and catch up? so bummed to miss michelle obama today. also, to all the people posting about being upset she was on the show...get a grip. please tell me you aren't for mccain. if you watch ellen, have a brain and want the next 4 years to be better, OBAMA!

Ellen is the bomb! I was VERY disappointed with Michelle Obama conforming to politics and being completely rude by not congratulating you on your marriage. It is sad that the Obama campaign is not endorsing equal rights for all americans especially because they are black and have experienced inequality. Keep doing what you do Ellen.

Jason from San Francisco.

Why is everyone freaking out that Ellen had Michelle Obama on today? I found it fun and refreshing. Ellen has has John McCain on and how do we know that she hasn't asked Mrs.McCain to be a guest? We don't. So stop jumping to conclusions. Also, she was very respectful about the way she brought up Sara Palins daughter. She was commenting on how great it is that Obama says children are off limits. Personally, I wish someone would make as many mean comments about Palin as she did about Obama at the RNC. Anyways, Ellen love your show and congratulations on the marriage. I don't care what the the bible says or historians, all people should be allowed to be married and recieve the same benafiets. And I am a married straight women. Good Luck Ellen!

I wish I could have seen your show, I was at school ironing out some unecessary, but necessary red tape. I saw all of the clippings and wanted more!! I hope this will some how be a review showing, someday soon!! Huh?? Soon??

Anyway you crack me up and I think you are such a down to earth person with a really big heart!!

Michelle Obama is such a woman with class she's also a down to earth person who's smart and intelligent! Scary huh????? It appeared to me that you all had a lot of fun. Keep being yourself and let no one dictate to you otherwise! This is why you have your own show, because "you do it your way!! Take notes america. Perhaps you'll learn a thing or two!

Ellen,
I was so disappointed that you brought up Sarah Palin's daughter today on your show. Barack Obama has made it completely clear that family is off limits. I really felt for Michelle that you would put her in the position to make a comment on this subject. If Michelle and Barack happen to get in the Whitehouse they will always wonder if you will say something about their daughters. There were so many other things that you could have talked to her about, such as how would she feel being the first lady, what platform will she choose that will uplift the American public. You could have asked her what type of role model she would be for women all over this nation. I wish you good luck on your new season and hope you don't loose too many viewers. I hope to tune in to see Cindy McCain, Sarah Palin, and Joe Biden on your show. I have already seen John McCain and Barack on your show. Best of luck to you and Portia.

What happened to striker??? I dont like Johnny..Striker is MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!

Turned OFF your show today when I saw you had Michelle Obama on as a guest. I didn't think you would get political, but I guess you can do what you want because it's your show.

Hey......i think after all the mud slinging that has been done by the Mccain/Palin Klan there was nothing wrong with having Michelle Obama on the 1st show. And as far as talking about Palin's kids, she made the decision to be in the spotlinght and should have thought about the comments that was going to be made not just about her but about her children, just as Obama has had to deal with all of the mean and nasty things people have said about him and his family.People need to look at the whole picture, not what someone says about someones children or family but about where this country is headed, TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET if we don't make a change and make it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love your show. I think you are very funny. I left work early to watch your show today, only to find out that tennis was on. I was disappointed...but was told today's episode will appear tomorrow, can't wait.

Hi Ellen! I would first like to start off by saying I started watching your show a couple of years ago and haven't stopped yet. I absolutely love your whole persona and way of life. You generate energy that is so amazing you can make anyone smile on a bad day! I was looking forward to watching your season premiere, especially because Michelle Obama was going to be a guest, I however missed the show due to work. I have been reading your comments today and of course like anyone else in the public eye you will receive unhappy comments and ridicule. What I'm not understanding is some of the comments you are receiving and why so unfriendly...Politics really, WOW people. Get over it! You have a great show and your right to your own personal opinions and views! Keep it up and keep running YOUR show the way YOU like! Love it and best wishes to you and yours!

Ellen, Missed your show :( but saw a clip online.
I don't much care for those who complain about your guests..they have an option to turn off the tv.
Congratulations to you and Portia. Hope you have a great season. :)

Keep on dancing!! :)

Hey, where was Stryker?

Ellen, I loved your show today. I was very glad to see Michelle Obama on your show. I think you two were very funny! I look forward to watching your show every day, so does my 11 month old son. He likes watching you dance.

To all your viewers who are upset that you chose to have Michelle Obama on your show - Don't you remember that Ellen also had Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain appear on her show. You don't know if she has asked Mrs. McCain to appear on her show. Ellen has been very fair thus far.

Ellen, didn't know you would start your 6th season so political. I now have Obama fatigue--sort of overexposed..beginning to remind me of American Idol contestants. So when did you tape this show with Mrs. Obama, last Thursday night after Gov. Sarah Palin spoke at the RNC convention. Now that you have declared this to be another Oprah political "fluffy" daytime talk show, I won't be watching your show either. I do remember last season you stated on your show that you would not get political but I guess you are entitled to change your mind just like I am entitled to change the channel or just turn off the t.v. I won't be tuning in to your political show. It is ashame you didn't stick to something you do best, a comedian, and try not to be a Barbara Walters or a Larry King and do political "fluffy" interviews. If you decide to invite the other potential First Lady, Cindy McCain on your show as a guest, I hope Ellen you will be just as "fluffy" and silly and gracious with Mrs. McCain as you were with Mrs. Obama. Or, Ellen, will you take advantage as the host and be rude because your political views are not in agreement with Sen. McCain. If so don't bother inviting this very admired, gracious lady on your show. Try and find a common ground with Mrs. McCain, such as, her involvement with Operation Smile. She has done awesome work with this organization. I watch your show for humor and not politics, so I guess I won't be watching any time soon. I'll be checking to see who are the sponsors for your show and let them know I am not happy with the new format because it went from comedy to one-sided politics. I did admire your show until you got political. Not all viewers of your show share in your political views, but still enjoy watching your show, but not now since you decided to go from humor/comedy to one-side politics. There's enough shows on all the cable networks for politics, Ellen, please stick to comedy and humor and enough with the politics.

I'm so pissed that tennis was on and not your premiere.

Hellen!

Great show today! Love the chemistry with Michelle Obama.

Congrats on your wedding. Any chance you can share out the 'wedding-night' video?! :) No? ok, well worth a shot. Such a hot couple

Cheers
