OMG Ellen !! I cannot believe you support a bureacratic CORPORATION like the HSUS. The are making Millions of $$$ off the suffereing of animals... And YOU are part of that. I can`t believe it. Legislation HSUS Sponsored in California is making it impossible for many people to keep their pets... BUT That is the goal of HSUS, that Nobody have pets. HSUS Does NOT support local REAL Humane Societies like they should... they just rake in the $$$.

Several people have already written you about the HSUS. Please believe what we say The Humane Society of the United States is in no way connected to local Humane Societies across the country. In these days of economic stress I see prople turning in their pets because they can no longer afford them. It makes me want to cry. If the money the HSUS gets from unknowing contritors were only to go toward helping these people feed and get vet care for their animals, a good cause would be served. They are a self serving group. They are not friends of animals but rather publicity seeking enemies of animals who thrive financially on exposing puppy mills in order to get more money.....but they do not rescue the dogs. Other shelters and rescue groups hurry to do this before the animals meet another worse fate.
Please, educate your audience. Have them support their local SPCA and Humane Society, NOT HSUS or PETA. Thank you for all you do and the joy you spread.
I heard that you are raising funds for the Humane Society of the United States. I am sure that you believe that this money goes to help animals. You have been mislead. A very small amount goes to shelters, in fact, the HSUS was found killing animals that it professed to have saved in North Carlina and discarding them im dumpsters. The HSUS is a large political machine that has as it's motive, to eliminate pets from our society.
If you really want to help animals, donate funds directly to local no kill shelters in your area, or to any area you choose.
Please become informed about what HSUS is all about.

Another organization truly deserving support is the American Humane Association. They having been in the trenches, working hard on behalf of the animals since 1877. I'd much rather save a defenseless creature rather than support a flashy lawyer, wouldn't you?

I know your intentions are good but did you know that the HSUS doesn't operate a single shelter and uses funds to lobby for very punitive laws that appear to help on the surface but don't. Please, please have a staff member do some thorough research on the HSUS. They are known to be nothing more than PETA in a business suit and PETA would like to end all personal ownership of pets. It all sounds crazy but it really is true. Please look into it. Thank you!!!!
Dear Ellen, Supporting HSUS is not being fair to the people who want to protect dogs. We believe that dogs serve a wonderful purpose in our lives and should be well cared for. HSUS sponsored by PETA does not appear to have their goals directed in the same venue. We, as pure-bred breeders have our ideals focused on improvement of the breeds, breeding sound dogs and cats, and supporting our local Rescue facilities. We also believe in education to our neighbors and friends. Our heart is with the dogs - our own, yours, theirs and anyone's. Thanks for being a dog lover like us.
Ellen, your heart is in the right place, but please urge your viewers to donate to their local animal shelters instead of HSUS. HSUS does not run any animal shelters, and only a very, very, very small percentage of the funds they collect actually go to local animal shelters, and then only in times of disasters. HSUS is primarily a lobbying organization whose ultimate goal is for no ownership of pets and no farming of animals for food.
Ellen, you are truly a person with a big heart for pets, but HSUS is not deserving of any funding. They have no shelters and do nothing for animals. the Feds are investigating them as I write this note.

I think you are a great person huge HEART always helping others BUT PLEASE check HSUS they are NOT a shelter. just like PETA they are a lobbyist org, They do not have ONE single shelter in US and PETA have one in VA that kills 97% of the rescues.
Please donate to other organization that do help responsible PET ownership/rescue like FAKC This was form in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew they led on rescue of Natural Disasters (D.A.R.T, S.A.R.T)other org. SPCA, NAIA, AKC, Best Friends,People like me will be more than glad to provided you with the true statistics on the different organizations
HSUS/PETA is to eradicate PET OWNERSHIP, as well as Breed Specific Legislation what this means:they are promoting the KILLING of innocent dogs just because the way they look (PIT BULL,Staford Bull terrier, German Shepherds and many more). These is total discrimination base on looks. There is no bad breeds ONLY bad owners.
I have been a responsible Pet owner/rescuer, and lobbyist in Miami Fl for 25 years. Started with Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and can tell you that we NEVER got help from neither organization only AKC and dog clubs/rescue from all over the US From that we started a MASH unit.
Millions of dollars were collected for Katrina/Wilma less than a Million dollar was spend by HSUS/PETA on the devastated areas, the rest when for TV and Bill Board commercials to collect MORE money for their salaries.

I think you're fabulous! And I admire your generous spirit - you truly walk the talk by doing so much to help charitable organizations and public causes. But please, please, please consider donating to the ASPCA instead of the Humane Society. The HSUS does not operate even ONE shelter in the entire nation - they are primarily a political lobbying organization. As a dog owner/lover and shelter volunteer, I can tell you from firsthand knowledge that the HSUS is not about helping animals. The APSCA, Best Friends, and local rescue organizations, however, are. Check out the HSUS before you donate any more.

Ellen - I am so discouraged that you have fallen hook, line and sinker for the HSUS, probably thinking that you are helping animals. Please be aware that HSUS does not operate shelters; they are mostly a lobbying organization and their agenda is to eradicate domestic animals. READ their website. If you support organizations like PETA and HSUS, you will eventually see no pets, no farm animals. Is that what you want?
