hey Ellen- I DVR all you shows and I'm a little behind so I just saw the show that aired part of your speech and was rolling on the floor laughing so I had to come to your website to see it in it's entirity. I absolutely loved it! I didn't graduate from college but I definately would have if I knew you would be speaking at my graduation. It would make 4 years of no sleep, boring classes and being thousands of dollars in debt all worth it! I think colleges should be required to get a comedian (preferably you) to make the commencement speech instead of a politician or pofessional "nap enducer" (no offense) but what a snooze-fest. Anywho, love you and one of these days I'm going to treat myself and come and see a show. It's on my life list! I can't wait, until then, thank you so much for the best medicine EVER! You've helped me so much through these past years. Love ya, Faith
OMG I so totally enjoyed your speech. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give you a 20. My boyfriend just graduated from Charles Drew Universi.ty of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles and their guest speaker was the Governor....Arnold. I have watched this speech so many times that I could probably say it by heart, yet everytime I listen I take something else from it.
It was a fantastic 'commen cement' speech and truly inspirational. Not only to those students but to the rest of us who have been lucky enough to hear it too.

Saw your speech the other day. It was truly amazing. More Colleges and Universities should book you for their Commencements. You brought an energy and spark to the ceremony that only you can do. My daughter just received her graduate degree from UC Berkeley. She was the student speaker at graduation. Check out her speech on You Tube. Just put in Amanda Winn's Graduation Speech. She was funny, poignant, and brought a message. We have watched your show from day one. You always bring a smile to our faces. Thanks Ellen!
My husband and I were on vacation and just happened to come across this while flipping through the channels. This was so funny, you had us both rolling...I'll bet these graduates never forget their special day or the inspiring personal information you shared with them, (nor shall Harry Connick, Jr forget that you got lots of gifts... :) Definitely a positive addition to our fun-filled vacation...thanks!

I have tried to join the Ellen web site. I am lost in cyber space. When I try to entry a contest or twit to Ellen, I enter my e-mail and then it tells me I have already entered, my e-mail is entered, but I did not verify my subscription. They send me another e-mail to verity my subscription, but it takes me to the same place. I am going around in circles! I want to be part of the Ellen show, but I am stuck in cyber space, big time! Ellen you were great. I didn't go to college either,and my life was hard. But not because I didn't go to college. I guess it was my chances I took, not bad chances, just chances. I'm now 60 years old, had a family and one of my sons is gay. I love him dearly. He is my all now. He doesn't pretend to be any thing else either and it is a hard life for anyone who is gay. He doesn't keep it a secret, but he doesn't broadcast it either. Our friends know he is and accept him for who he is and thats all thay counts. I love him so much, and I love you too. I watch your show every day, record it every day and sometimes I share it with my friend. He loves you too. I sent your common cenment speech to him through e-mail, but I also saved it for him on my dvr so he can watch the good part with HC Jr too! Love you, keep up the good life, and I will see you on Monday Memorial Day. I'm sure you will have another outstanding day. Praise God for you. You make my day, everyday. Thanks

Ellen you looked so good up there on stage today. Your speech, although funny :) was so inspirational. Your encourage the young graduate to keep reaching for the stars. I know that they will take all your kind words and make every effort to be all they can be. I really enjoyed your speech and the sense or humor you added with it.

Thanks ellen for the speech I know it was for tulane, but it hit home for me to! I just finish taking my high school diploma test. I turn on the t.v to catch the rest of the show and you were giving the speech. So it suprised me I was happy & I act like I was there. I'm a 26 year old mom who just finished high school. Now my 12 year old, my 7 year old & my 6 mth old & my husband can be proud! I wanna thank the Marque learning center in Houston tx! Thank you to ellen that made my day !!!
