When It's On

Hi Ellen,
I am actually writing to you while my friend is visiting with a handicapped person next door. I am using her computer, she would never ask anyone for help but I don't know a soul who deserves it more. Her husband cheated on her, she lost both her parents to cancer and did everything in her power to keep them comfortable and happy.
She let a friend borrow her car and the friend wrecked it, Ann was just so happy that the two people in the car were not hurt. Now, she has no car, she has to pay the damages and she just lost her job.
She voluteers more than anyone I ever met and never complains. I didn't realize how bad things were for her until I spent the night at her house and I woke up and she was sobbing and crying at three am. She told me she was getting evicted and when she tried to help out another single parent she let her sleep on her couch. When Ann went to check on her, she was gone and so was her wallet, her money, bank cards, her jewelry, even the change she keeps for laundry. The woman had left and charged the last credit card she owned to the max. When she called her she apologized and told Ann she would return everything, she has not heard from her and I doubt she ever will.
Ann talked to a lawyer who wanted so much money to go to court she decided it was best just to forgive her.
Her response is always that when she is taken advantage of that the poor person must need the money more than she does. She carrries no hate in her heart and forgives everyone. She is so close to becoming a lawyer, she sold her house to go to law school but with financial problems it is impossible to study to pass the bar exam. Maybe more people deserve the stimulus package but here is a person who is so eager to give I know once she becomes a lawyer she will work for legal aid and help the less fortunate. She only needs assistance for three months so she can study, she already spent her last dollar on her education, she has her doctorate.
Please, Please help her or tell me where I can go to get her short term financial assistance.
