Hey Ellen,

I was watching your show yesterday 7/10/09 and was moved my the stimulus package that you surprised 1 college student with. She's the Ramen noodle eating young lady who has the heart to go hungry and feed her dog instead of herself. What a selfless act of generosity. I'm writing today because I'd be more than happy to be so lucky, as to participate in your stimulus package. I'm a 31 year old female, who last year battled stage III breast cancer. I did Chemo, Had a Radical mastectomy and Lymph Node Dissection as well as Radiation. November 2008 I won a free weekend get-a-way to Kohler Spa (yay)... not even in the building for 10 minutes and I slip and fall on the marble floor. After months of physical therapy, additional breast cancer surgeries, and of course unbearable pain, May of 2009 we discovered that I had in fact broken a rib in my back (from the fall) and the cancer had returned in that rib. I'm a single gal, working 40 hrs a week, while going through radiation and oral chemotherapy's. We discovered in July 2009 that the cancer is very aggressive and is now in my hips, pelvis, spine, collar bone. I'm trying to come up with enough money to wait the three weeks for unemployment to kick in once my employer lay's me off, upon my request. Once I'm out of work for 5 months I can apply for disability which I do qualify for since my cancer is considered terminal (stage IV). Oh how a few extra dollars would really be a saving grace for me. I never thought that at the age of 31, I'd be retiring from work. But trust me after working 16 years of my life and going through extreme trials and tribs, I'm ready to hang my "Gone Fishin' sigh". Thanks for letting me bend your ear. And ps. I enjoy your dancing. You bring joy to many Ellen D. :)

Hi Ellen! First off...HUGE fan! You always can make me smile!! I need to smile especially. I was recently told that I have a tumor on my pituitary gland. I am having surgery Aug. 7th to remove it (HOPEFULLY)and I am going to be in the hospital for a couple days then out of work for atleast 4 weeks. I am a recent college graduate who is also recently married. My husband is amazing but there is only so much he can do financially. The bills are adding up and they are only going to get higher and higher especially if they are not able to get the tumor out. We need your help. Even though we are struggling we still mak sure we keep our priorities straight: We donate to St. Judes monthly, help friends in need, etc. I feel as though there are so many people out there that need more help then us but when I look in my husbands eyes and he said "its going to be okay" I can tell that he is just saying that to make me feel better. PLEASE HELP US ELLEN!!!

Hello ellen. I wanted to tell u little bit about myself. I am a mother of 3kids. Both my husband and I work jobs and still can't seem to get head. I have read most of the stories and they are heart felt. I am writing because i just need some help. I would like to get a break from some of these finances that seem to be dragging us down. I know that there are worse cases out there but if someone lived in my shoes they would see that we needs some help too. My 12 year old daughter is a big fan and she said write ellen she will help but I am not looking for a handout just expressing my feelings. We love u.

Hello Ellen,
My name is Toni and I am a big fan of the show. I've had plently of time to enjoy watching your show since my life started taking a crazy turn in February 2008. Early that month I had back surgery that put me out for a few days. Later that month I was let go from my job at a corporate office. Two months later I was diagnose with breast cancer for the second time. The then removed both of my breast. After the surgery my skin kept dying on my chest in which I had to have more surgeries. I have been on antibiotic after antibiotic and now to top it off for the past 8 months my right arm has a pulled tended that I believe is from the surgeries. I have suffered a great deal of depression and have had to seek medical help for. I close to losing my house and to top it off insuarance won't cover to find out if the cancer is gone or if it has come back. Ellen You have brought so much laughter and happiness. watching your shows is what I look forward to ever day. I schedule my doctors visits around your show. Ellen please any help you could give would be amazing.

Dear Ellen,
My name is Jessica and I religiously watch your show everyday (even the reruns, love it!) I love your show so much that when I had to start school for medical assisting I was devastated that it got in way of the show. Then after I finished schooling and graduated and got a job as a medical assistant I was devastated again to learn that the show hours changed. But shortly that all changed when in late March my little brother was hit by a car. He ended being ok but the driver is still out there. Three days later my grandfather went into the hospital for his last time he past away nine days later. I missed alot of work in between those two promblems alone. Then exactly 13 days later my other grandfather lost his short battle with cancer. He was only in his 50's. So I again had to take time off of work. One week after returning from the last funeral I was let go from my employer and have been struggling to make ends meet since. My fiance works for a family owned pizza shop and has been there for 6 years and only makes $8.00 an hour. We are struggling so bad that we don't have a stove, a washer, or a dryer. We had to move out of the apartment we were in because we couldn't afford it to a house in not the best area. On top of the not so good area I have 3 beatiful dogs Diamond, Princess, and Bear that I have to take care of. Ellen any help you give would be appreciated more than you could ever know. Thanks so much for keeping me laughing threw my hard times.

-The Bloomer Family!!

Hello Ellen,
I'm writing in regards to my partner she is the "Mother Theresa of Day Cares" or so her accountant has called her. She has a small DC that she runs in a lower to middle economic family area. Our area has been hit hard with layoffs. And in turn we've been hit hard by the last several weeks as well. Many of the kids who attend have not been able to attend. Their parents have been laid off and unable to pay which in turn hurts us because no kids means no money for rent, food, animal food (she has animals for the kids to watch and learn about), taxes, and all other bills associated with keeping her head above water. Which means our house also suffers for food money - we have an 8 year old little girl and she doesn't understand that we can't always have the frig stocked with foods. If nothing else we always look forward to watching your show - if nothing else we have lots of laughter in our house.
Any help from your stimulus package would be greatly appreciated. Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless you and your family,

Hi Ellen (and Tony),
I try to watch or tape your show every day. You are such a giving person and it just thrills my heart to see the wonderful things you do for people and animals. I have a friend who is in dire need of help. She is only 30 yrs. old (I'm 60) and has a 3 mos. old baby. She is very dedicated to her child, her dog, Dahli, and her profession as a massage therapist; however, she is unable to work since having little Asher. I am willing to babysit but she is sooo "good" that she doesn't want to take advantage of anyone. Public services here doesn't provide much in the way of help for her. She is stuck financially in an apartment with no laundry facilities while. She has had to borrow money from her brother to buy a car and will be doing some part-time massages. She is really struggling. I was once in her position and no one offered to help me, but then welfare was more available. I would truly appreciate it if you could help her. Her name is Kate Konovich. Thanks for your consideration. Paula

Hi Ellen. Thank you for having such a wonderful and funny show. I am a single mother of a beautiful 8 year old girl. Her dad lives in Jamaica and never sees her, nor is he involved in her life at all. I have been raising her on my own and supporting her on my own. I am a teacher in Florida and we have not had a raise in 2 years now. We probably will not be getting another one because of all our budget cuts. It is extremely difficult these days to survive on your own, but to raise and care for a child makes it even more challenging. She is the love of my life and I am so happy she is a part of me. My sister went to one of your shows in CA a while ago and she said it was the best experience of her life. I wish I could have an experience like that. I am also taking care of my mother on my own who is now in assisted living. My life has been very stessful going to school, working full time, and taking care of a little girl and a mom. All my money will be going to pay all my student loans I received so I can finish up school. I do believe in helping the less fortunate than I and I always find myself giving my extra change or dollar bills to the homeless people here by my home. I would love a change for your stimulus package if you have it again anytime soon. We all know that teachers do not get paid what they are worth and I know I am worth a million buck!! hehehe..thanks for making me smile and laugh everyday when times are hard on me!!!!
God Bless you and Portia,
Jodi

Hi Ellen! I love your show! It gives me an extra boost in the afternoon when I am so tired! My husband and moved to Lynchburg, VA about 8 months ago to go back to college and are trying so hard to make ends meet. There are ABSOLUTELY NO jobs here, so my husband drives two hours on the weekends to work in Richmond, VA. During the week he goes to school full time while I take care of two babies in addition to my 20 month old son. We are also expecting a baby girl in October! I am only 21 and going back to school full time this fall before the baby comes to work on finishing my degree as well, so maybe I can help bring in more money. No matter what we try it seems that ends never seem to meet. I hope you will consider us for your stimulus plan! We love your show and we love what you are doing for people all over the world. God Bless!

Hi Ellen,
I have been watching your show forever... I would love a chance to win your stimulus package! I am a single, 41 yr old, nursing student, barely surviving. I hardly eat, all my money goes for tuition, books, my baby Raven (dog). I have one year to go and would really hate to quit at this time. I make straight A's, ok have one B.... Your stimulus package would really help me pay for my next semester (Aug. 31) as well as my books. I have been paying with my credit card that is all ready to the MAX!!! I don't work, as nursing school takes up ALL my time studying, free time is spent playing with my baby (dog), she is my child, my lil lap dog!! I saved her, she was badly abused, her ear was cut in half with a weed wacker, she was burnt by lit cigarettes, locked in a small bathroom, just beaten badly. Most dogs forget, she still hasn't, that is how severely beaten she was. I was scared at first, as she did not take to strangers well, but I had to, and now I am so glad that I did, she is the best thing that has came into my life!! My Raven....

Ellen, again I would love that phone call that I won your stimulus package!!!!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Hey Ellen still watching your show and still laughing while I am watching you but still crying when you are not on. I wish you could be on all day long to keep my mind occupied ANYWAYS if you can help me I would greatly appreciate it in the meantime keep being you and keep making the world a better place by what you do. LOVE YOU Wanda Wingfield

Hey Ellen I just want you to know that you are so very funny and I do so much enjoy watching your show. I have been out of work since March 19 of this year so I can watch you everyday and I do. Sometimes I laugh so hard I have to run to the bathroom and I do need the laughs so I thank you so much. I have had a hard year and laughing helps so much. I am 53 years old and not in the greatest of health because of hard work all my life. I have been a welder and I have been in construction for over 25 years and it has taken a toll on my 4foot11 body.My mother who was living with me passed away March 16,2009 on the day of her funeral I got a letter in the mail from my employer telling me that I had been layed off and would not be recalled. I was devestated as I was the only one bringing in any income. My husband had been sick since 2001 and had been trying to get disability but had been denied again and again.Well on April 29 2009 my husband lost his battle and he passed away. We were married 30 years and I have been so alone and so very brokenhearted and my kids are having to help me t to take care of necessary bills. I hope to get a job eventually and to get out of my depression in the meantime you making me laghhelps and if you should choose me for your stimulus package that would be great too. Thank you for being you Wanda Wingfield

Ellen, your show is in progress now, and I jumped up from your televised show to share this awsome story. I have been and continue to be awe-struck as you continue to give back and embrace those who are struggling.
I write on behalf of my oldest sister who is 83,
the mother of 10 and 32 grandchildren and 40 plus
great-grandchildren - we are ALWAYS pregnant in our family. The heart of my letter is to praise her (my Sister) for giving so much, even at 83, on a limited income, she continues to sew clothes, make toys for any and all of her grands and great-grands - church members, etc. It seems that she is so full of love and giving that she does not realize her needs are great, having just had open-heart surgery, double by-pass and a stint. Still, she needs financial support, as we struggle to help her make ends meet. If she can be
one of your featured Stimulus recipients, this will truly give her MANY hopes and dreams of the
future God has in store for her, and to let her
know that there are individuals, such as you, willing to give and empower as well.

God bless you an your giving heart! I appreciate all you do on behalf of so many who need a lift.

Hey Ellen, My name is Ariel, i am 18 yrs old and from Boston and currently still living with my mom and brother at home. Every year i have been planning to go to your show but never could afford to fly out to California. I've been trying since i was 13 years old, and i am hoping to go really soon. To meet you would be an honor.
I don't think i ever asked for help, or ever needed it this much. My mom is a single parent and works over 4 jobs a day, i have 3 cats, 2 that we have rescued and at times it gets hectic trying to pay everything off. my brother can't find a job and is still currently in college. I am about to attend college this year as a freshman. I got into many good colleges with a 4.0 GPA but unfortunately i might not be able to accept any because the financial aid wasn't enough. I might end up having to take a year off to pay off just a community college. I am embarrassed to ask for any help you can give us, but i think it's come to a desperate need of a lot of help as of right now. anything would be great. God Bless you, your are truly and angel for helping so many people in need.

dear elllen,i am writing to sign up 4 stimulas package. I have 2 beautiful kids. we dont ever get 2 take them anywhere. my husband got laid off and has been looking 4 a job 4 months. we r trying everything 2 hold on to what we got. i homeschool my 7 year old and i have a 18 month old. sometimes i have to decide whether to pay a bill or buy diapers. i also have two inside dog and 1 outside dog that was a stray. my daughter wants to save every animal she sees. if i cant win the stimulas package i just want to be on your show. by the way my daughter wants to know how you dance over the table like that. sorry i didnt know how to get to your email..im from albany ga.

Dear Ellen,

We love your show!! It truely makes us forget our troubles with laughter, if only for an hour.

Our house has been foreclosed on and we have maybe a month or so before we must leave the house we've loved for over 10 years. I have come to accept that fact, but have no idea where we will go.

My daughter has been a pillar of strength. Her name is Nicole, she is 10 and was 1 of 2 children in her grade who maintained straight A's throughout the year(which she has done every year). She is truely a gifted child that didn't deserve any of the hardships that have befallen upon us.

Please believe that we haven't tried, but the jobs in our area of Fl. have dried up!!! I work for a corporation that will hire only part time employees to avoid paying insurance. My hours are also based upon the performance of getting people to sign up for credit cards.People are not willing to sign up for them as much and I do not feel comfortable pressuring them to do so. I have not been able to find another job although.

I would like to sign up for your stimulus package, if only to help us transition into the next phase of our lives.

I'm sorry to ask, but didn't know what else to do. I don't want Nicole to suffer when she has so much potential.

Sincerely,
Beth

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A GOOD HUMAN INTEREST STORY, THIS IS IT...Dear Ellen, I am writing this letter about my brother John. He took me in nearly 8 years ago after a near fatal car accident. Since then, I have had many surgeries and long hospital stays. My brother insisted I stay with him while I recover. I wish there was something I could do to help him out financially. He works two jobs. One of them is 24-7, 365 days a year, delivering the daily newspaper. At midnight my brother gets up and begins his first job of the day, finishing at around 6:30am. when he hurries home to change clothes and goes directly to his day job, working at the grocery store. He begins his 10 hour shift. Finally at around 5:00pm he drags himself home, eats and goes to bed for some much needed rest.At 12:00 the alarm rings and he starts over again. Ellen it is killing me to watch my brother work like this from my wheelchair. Due to the economy, there was a mandatory pay cut that took $300.00 a month from his income. Needless to say he is behind on the house pmt, the truck pmt, and the utilities. Because of the wear and tear of the paper route his truck often needs repairs.Just this week he had to sink $500.00 into fixing his brakes as well has his front end. He just can't seem to get caught up. Everyday I see the joy and relief on the peoples faces that you are able to help, please Ellen can you help my brother? Thank you for all you do. Laura
