Ellen has reached well over a 1.6 million Twitter followers. On today's show, she sent a tweet saying that she hid two tickets at a local bus stop -- and the first followers who found them would get seats for today's show!

Hey Ellen I just wanted to say I think you're great! I have followed your career for as long as I can remember because my mom loves you too, so naturally you were always on our TV. Ellen, Ellen, Ellen. Every night after work I come home and make dinner for my family. Then I put my feet up and watch the DVR of your show with a glass of Chardonnay. What a wonderful end to a day...ONE WOULD THINK!! Every night, I say to myself, "I have to get a box of Kleenex in this room" You know why? I am so overjoyed with what you do for people, I end up crying every evening. Keep up the good work Ellen, you are wonderful. Marian
in regards to jacqueline webb comments above that is very rude of you sometimes things happen and people have to use a credit card for emergencys or maybe a tank of gas to get to work or better yet pay for a trip to the doctor for the kids. You may be one of the lucky ones, but sometimes crap happens its called LIFE. For you to judge other people like that is CRAZY maybe you are in the wrong line of WORK, but lawyers just charge out rougous prices; some people cant make $300 an hour. Time for you to step back and look at the real world, thats falling apart around everyone...........

I have a few comments regarding the gifts and money people receive on your show. I watch your show every day and I feel more disappointed every day. I spent 23 years of my life taking care of parents who were addicted to drugs and alcohol and were very abusive. At the same time I took care of sick grandparents who needed 24 hour care and lived 50 miles away. I suffered from continuous abuse from my parents; however, I was so emotionally manipulated that I didn't have the resources to leave. I finally moved 2.5 hours away to finish undergraduate school in Sacramento. I endured harassment no person should have to deal with, but I got through it. I graduated with honors and moved to Washington, D.C. to attend a top tier law school. Although I completed my degree in August and I have a job that pays very well, I have more than $190,000 in student loan debt. My family even tried to get me kicked out of school and stole money from me but I kept going and I am paying as much as I can towards my loans as I work 80 hours per week. The most important point I want to make is that those of us who worked so hard to get good paying jobs and live within our means with no credit card debt are not only responsible for paying for others with our taxes, but you are rewarding people who are living outside their means instead of the people who have been responsible. That is all I have to say.

This is a great idea!!! Ellen... you and your staff are sooo creative and very nice!... VERY VERY VERY NICE!!!! You are constantly thinking of fun things to do on and off your show!
However..... it was torture.. PURE TORTURE!!!! when I got that tweet! :) I was like.. crap... I'm not in Burbank... you don't know how much I wished I could travel in the speed of light to be down there.
One thing though.. since I"m not familiar with the area.. I wondered.. which way on Olive should I travel to get to that bus stop!!!!

When I'm in Burbank again... I will have my shot!!!! I may just show up again... unless I get lucky enough to snag me up a ticket!!! You called me once.. let it ring one time and then hung up! Made me wonder... but I never got a call back... I got the call January 30th of this year.. 2009! at 3:34pm! I have a record!!!! I'm thinking of having it framed!!!! Its a big deal getting a call from you!!! I just wished you'd call me back. Why did you call??? I can only assume it was for tickets!.. or a misdial. I don't know.. I would like to know! :)

What about all of the people who live in places like MICHIGAN??? We can't go to our local bus stop to get tickets...do you think you could move??? Love your show!!
