Smokey the Cat's Weekend Recap

Smokey the Cats Weekend Recap Holy macaroni, the cat sure wanted to stay in front of the camera on Friday night! And yet he still didn't want to do much with the condo and toys. Maybe we're underestimating him, and he needs more intellectual stimulation? Perhaps we should leave a copy of Pride and Prejudice for him tonight.

Here's what happened:

7:48 PM: Smokey arrived and ate from the "Girl" food bowl. He then went to the base of the condo and groomed himself for a while. Apparently, something happened on stage because he suddenly jumped up and started to walk away, then decided against it. He then went to the area behind the guest chair, groomed himself for a while, then rolled around. Smokey then went back to the food and ate out of the regular food bowl and had some water. Back to the base of the condo he went, where he sat for a while. He then scratched the pole briefly, then continued to sit again. He finally ate out of the regular food bowl some more before leaving.

12:20 AM: Smokey came back, drank some water, sat underneath the cat condo for what seemed like forever, then ate from the regular food bowl and left.

4:20 AM: Smokey ate from the "Girl" food bowl, drank some water, once again sat underneath the cat condo for a while, then ate from the regular food bowl and left.

There you go!

Ellen, what happened to Smokey, he is not on the cams anymore? Why was he thrown out of the studio? We like to known. Can't believe an animal lover would do that!!!!!!!

Most of the bloggers went to Facebook. To find them look up at Debi Hutka, Helga Lehman, Sachiko Matsui some show cats. Debi lets us know when she catches site of Smokey the mouse manager at the Ellen Show. You have to click on cam 2 or cam 3 on her site. Debi is the one to see him sometimes, the rest of us see him seldom. Maybe they could put a cam under the steps where his dishes are. We all miss that cat. He gets good food from Ellen, so he has not been forgotten. It's great there are cats at the Warner Brothers lot and they are taking care of.

I can't see him anymore.. where have they put his condo and his food and water... I haven't seen him in a long time. I miss seeing him...

I love how you record the cat its funny. But its so true though. i've had cats my whole life and that all they pretty much do its jsut comedic reading it. I have a all grey female cat and her name is smokey aswell. They should hang sometime hahahaaha.

Joe, That cat (Smokey) needs a friend, and I have one that needs a home, someone threw her out of their car at the dumpster of some apartments, I just got her fixed but I can't keep her because I already have 7 rescued dogs and 9 rescued cats. She is soooo sweet, and Smokey needs a friend and a playmate, then you can see some action around their. Please let me know. Poor Smokey is bored to death. It's no fun to play on the cat condo by yourself, he's looking at that condo thinking it would be fun if he had someone to play with. Think about it, would you like to be by yourself all the time, he has no one to play with or talk to. Animal Advocate, Sherrille

I admire your love for animals in need. I myself joined the program where you have feral cats spayed/nutered & returned back to their home area. I do my best to feed the nine cats that have come to be reguarls. My neighbor wants to trap them & dump them who knows where. One or two of them tend to sleep on their vehicles, which the neighbor is totally not happy with.

Anyway, I'm glad there are people like us. These animals need our voice & care.

I'm sure Ellen won't let smokey starve! Relax folks, she's way too kindhearted for that and shame on you all for not having faith in her!
Joe, if you want smokey to climb the cat condo, get some dried valerian and crush it real fine then sprinkle all of the carpeted parts of the condo. The valerian is 10x as alluring as catnip. This is how I'm able to get the wild kittens to come close enough to me to make friends. It really works!

I have 3 "no kill" kitties & have recently bought them their own "condo". Your's is missing the house at the bottom where they can "hide" & check things out (they all tussle over who is going to be in there). Yours is too open - that's why UR kitty goes behind the chair to groom.

hi Joe! i love cats..and Smokey is just adorable..i went last week to see a live taping of the show, I was actually lookin for the kitty..aw, probably it's still shy with people but not really camera shy right? LOL..haha..can I visit Smokey lol?

Janie -- the Warner Brothers studio is where Ellen tapes and there are several cats there who are taken care of.

I love Ellen and would love to see her show but not if there is a cat in the studio... I have a fear of cats call me crazy but I could not be around a cat or where I thought one would be

Could not get in there, a bit upset. Anyway, when the time comes and I don't see food and water there I will not be watching Ellen's show for I feel cheated. I had been watching her show daily without missing a day since Sept of last year. I love animals dearly and I feel that I am cheated by Ellen because of Smokey! It is typical Hollywood!
