Hi Ellen,

My name is Lauren Krementz and I live in New Orleans, LA. I know that this may sound weird, but I do not want gold digger to come to my house- I want it to go to my Dad's. A couple of years ago my Dad was diagnosed with throat cancer and went through chemo therapy and radiation treatments. It was not looking good, however. He had to have a feeding tube put into his stomach because his throat was so destroyed from these treatments that he couldn't swallow. Because of the radiation and how it was directed towards his throat, he lived in agony. He had at least 30 mouth sores in his mouth and throat at a time and he could no longer produce his own saliva so they put him on a medication to do so for him....he would wake up choking because of the sticky saliva substitute that would get caught in his throat. I never saw him sleep for more than 3 hours a night. I personally know that I would never have had the strength to survive an ordeal such as this and I also know that he wanted to just give up several times. He would stand above the kitchen sink at nights with the faucet water running, just staring at it. I often wonder what he thought of during this time. There is so much more to his cancer and the medications that he was placed on that I could tell you about but there just isn't the time. This man is my rock, Ellen. He is my best friend, my heart and soul. He is the STRONGEST man I will ever meet. All throughout this time, his main concern and top priority had remained on his family. I fell asleep crying every night and while I was enrolled in the University of New Orleans at the time, because of my father's cancer and constantly wanting to take care of him, My grades dropped tremendously. I am since back in school and even though I am having to work twice as hard to build my GPA back up, I could never tell him that it was because of his illness. If you ask anyone that has ever come into contact with him they will tell you what an amazing soul he has. He is now in remission and going strong. He had to learn how to eat/swallow all over again. It's been a long path but he finally back in good health. Unfortunately because of the radiation, his teeth were so badly damaged that he had to replace them with dentures. I never really did any research on dentures but they seem to be painful and an extreme annoyance for him: they get loose over time and so he can not truly enjoy the food that he once loved. Not once has he complained though. This leads me to why I would like him to be a part of gold digger. The dentist offers pins that you can purchase and surgically place into his gums that would make his dentures almost like a permanent fixture. They are however, extremely expensive and not covered by our family's insurance plan because the company states that they do not know what the condition of his teeth were like before the radiation. My mom is still fighting this, but it seems to be a never-ending battle. While it may seem odd to most, something as simple as my dad being comfortable (even if it is just with his teeth) is extremely important to me. I believe that if he were given the opportunity to pay for them, he would definitely elect to have the surgery. It's just the simple things that make him happy and would make his life just a little bit easier. I know he deserves at least that. Please help my Dad. I also know that you are getting thousands of letters from people who all have stories, we are all in a crisis. So I understand if gold digger is selected for one of them instead because none of our stories is of a lesser importance. The important thing is that you are helping people. You are a great person with a big heart and I think that what you are doing for others is amazing. I strive to be more like you every day.

hi ellen. First i want to say i love you! Your show is the best and i hope its on for years to come.I am a 20 year old single mom and havent had the easiest life. As a child i was abused badly by my parents. Growing up poor already didnt help the fact my father was on crack. At 16 i had a son named angel and vowed never to let him go through what i did. I was put in foster care with my son until i was 18 but they did not release him. It took 3months of classes and court until they realized i was not ur typical teen. He has been home with me ever since. I have been working my butt off to maintain things in my house on my own but i was laid off of work because of budget cuts. Things are getting hard because i have no family to help. I had saved money to go to med. School but already used it all for bills. I want to be a pediatrician but first im a mom. Please help me ellen! Thanks for everything!! With love..amie&angel***

Ellen,
I love your show, but so does my family back in Ohio. Both my Mom and my Grandma love it as well. My Mom was very close to Grandma Grace, in fact she even lives in the house next door to where both of her parents built back in the 40's. 2 years ago we lost Grandma Grace and just last month, my Grandpa John passed away after, just like my Grandma, an extended time in the hospital. She is now left with two households to take care of as well as 16 dogs on 27 acres.
This has been a very trying time for my Mom for she is left with alot of personal affects, and legal issues.
If you could find it in your heart to extend your hand to help my mom out, I know that I would be grateful, but I know somewhere up there, out there, so would Grandma Grace and Grandpa John.
Thank you for your show for making everyone in my family laugh.

HI Ellen !

Yippe another contest to enter in my quest for a new mouth full of teeth...being able to do gold digger at my house would at least help me get closer to starting to go to the dentist and start the procedures I need to have done to repair my gums and replace teeth that are loose and painful so I can smile and not have to use photo shop in pictures!
I have lived with pain, discomfort, and unattractive teeth most of my adult life cause every time I got close to getting the work started we lost insurance, had to get work done on our childrens teeth ( still have one in braces) or had medical issues or house issues and of course other bills that came first.....so as I have written in before I enter every contest I can on so many sites ( have entered Publishers Clearing House daily for YEARS) and written letters to you, Oprah , Dr. Phil ...you name it trying to win contests or get help or a teeth/mouth make over ...has not happened yet, but I keep trying!!!

I also need to replace my breast implants as well, they are very over due, AND as I got them nearly 20 years ago ( needed a reduction and implants cause I gained 50 plus pounds 3x with pregnancies and the breasts were left stretched out and ugly) and did not know that I should "shop around" I got a botched pair, they are lop sided and uneven ! So been trying to save up for the mouth re-do and new implants for my breasts as well...Guess you could say I need two kinds of implants!!!

I just want to live my next 40 plus years with a beautiful smile that I can be proud of and perky, pretty breasts!

So I hope you will pick me for the Gold Digger or some other up coming extreme make over contest if you ever have one again....

So PICK ME!!!!Please????

Hey there Ellen, I would love to have your Gold Digger Machine show up at my house so I can get in there and grab as much money as I can so I can do something special for my husband & son. They are my biggest support system & have done so much for me & have given up so much & changed so many things so they can take care of me & make sure my needs have been met while battling cancer. The machine would be something fun for me to do & something I would get so much enjoyment out of if I could send the two best men in my life on a Chicago Bears or Chicago Cubs Weekend or a Fishing trip for just the two of them. My husband even shaved his head in support of me when I lost my hair, how great is that?I get excited just thinking how fun it would be to do something just for them & thank them for everything they do for me.

Hi Ellen,
I watch your show all the time. I am a teacher and tape it every day. I have a daughter and son-in-law that have 5 children ages 12,5,4,2, and 1. They have had such bad luck and bad breaks for years. Rick, her husband, lost his mother when he was 7 or 8 to cancer. He has 7 brothers and sisters and his dad, who was living in Trinidad and Tobego, could not care for them. They were split up and Rick was raised by an aunt in Florida. Rick when into the service young and got out after his 4 year hitch. It took him years and lots of running around to get his citizenship so he could remain working eventhough he had served in our armed forces. He almost lost his job over it. Recently they had moved to Florida into the house of their dreams and both had good jobs. They had a small 3 bedroom home here in Virginia Beach, VA that they outgrew. They worked hard and saved and bought a 6 bedroom home in Florida that they are about to lose along with all the money they invested in it. The house here in Virginia Beach never sold so they paid 2 house payments for a year and are now broker than broke. He got laid off from his job with Lockheed Martin because their contracts ran out and they told him and many others there was no more work for them. Within a couple of months her company had an internal overhaul and they told her she was out of a job unless she moved back to Virginia Beach. She has been separated from her husband and children for months, has not been able to get the banks to refinance or help. I don't understand what the banks are doing with the money the government is now giving them because it certainly is not to help those in need. They are out of money and I have gone through all I had to help and now they will have to foreclose on the Florida home and live in the small home in Virginia Beach. We're trying to figure out how to get her husband and kids up here ASAP. We've never asked anyone for help in or lives but Leigh and her family sure could use some, even if it is to play Gold digger at their home here in Virginia or Rick in the home in Florida unless we've gotten him and the family here. I'm not even sure what you can do but I do know you have a heart of gold - the biggest on earth I think. My grandaughter (I have 12 grandchildren) calls you Ellen D' Generous! It breaks my heart to see her crying and upset and her 1 year old just got sick and she is having trouble not being there with him. She knows they will now lose all the money they have invested in the home as well as the home and will not be able to rebuy a larger home for her family if the economy improves due to having a foreclosure on her name. There seems to be no way out for her and the stress has taken its toll on both Leigh and Rick to affecting their health too. If you can help in any way - fantastic, if not - I understand. You're still loved and #1 for all of us. I'm sure there's alot of others in dire straits too and I feel for all of them across our country.
A very concerned Mother,
Andrea Ellyson

i want to play golddigger because i am a single mother of a 2 year old daughter who is currently applying for social security disability. things have been hard for me the past two years and the only people who have helped me are my parents who are both disabled also. we work together as a family to make ends meet and we might not have much but we have love. goldigger would help us take care of the bills and at least alleviate some of the stress on us for a little while.

I would like to play Gold Digger for several reasons. One being it just looks like fun but the most important reason is my mom. My dad passed away suddenly from cancer & my mom was widowed for the 2nd time in her life. She was 24 the first time & 57 this time. She has lost her husband & stands to lose her home as well. My brother & I are out of work and it's killing us that we can't help her the way we want to. She has severe herniated disks in her neck & cannot physically work but Social Security has denied her benefits. It takes her 3 hours to be able to move every morning. Her health insurance is $700/month, her house is $1400/month, plus all of the normal bills & her only income is $1100/month from the VA's widow benefit program. If I could play Gold Digger at my house I would give the money to my mom to try & help her a little at least. You know you love Vegas, Ellen! Come on over!!

Hi Ellen,

My mom agreed to sign me up for a 2 year contract at a talent school here in Vancouver. Sadly, the classes that they said they had, were not being offered and I never saw anyone in my age group at the school. I was eligible for a refund within 10 days after I started, but I didn't figure this out until after. My mom wasted almost $8000 at a school that I thought would be good for me; instead, it was like a scam. I can't get my mom's money back and I think both me and my mom are worth playing your awesome game! haha.. Thanks for being so great!

Always watching,
C

Hi Ellen! I love your gold digger game! It's so hilarious watching the contestants stuff money in their clothes. They look like scarecrows stuffed with money! I would love to be a contestant in this game because it looks like so much fun and I could really use the money. I have been unemployed and have been trying to sell various items online to pay my bills. This would be a fun opportunity to make some cash and to be on your show. Take care and keep up the insanity!

Hi Ellen,
I would love for you to come out to cold Michigan and play Gold Digger..not for me but my husband. In 2007 my husband was let go from Ford Mtr. then in April I fell and broke my back, and my wonderful husband has been taking care of me and helping out with my sister and mother. Some retirement... I think he needs a little fun in his life. Please help me with putting a little joy back in his live. We LOVE you and your show.

Hey ellen! How are you. As you can imagine i love watching your show everyday. You are one of the best parts of my day! I was not really able to watch you before because i didnt have dvr , but now i can because i was laid off my only job and well lets just say i have a lot of extra time on my hands. My son just turned 9 years old and i played blindfolded musical chairs. It was hilarious! My new favorite game! I am on unemployment so i had to find new ways to entertain the kids. Not much money to spend these days. I just want to say that i really look up to you , you have a great personality and a great sense of humor you take on life as it comes , and with a smile in your heart. You carry yourself as a strong and independent woman who knows what life is really about, enjoying it! I love that you are open and all about your fans. Not snooty or conceited like other "tv people". Lol. I just wanted to applaud you and let you know as you should already know that you are loved by me and many other people around the world (or , wherever your show airs ) you are down to earth and even though me and many others have not had the honor of meeting you, i deeply feel that you are easy to talk to and consider you a dear and close friend . Thanks for being who you are. I think i was suppose to post for the golddigger thing. Well as you know being one of lots of single mothers , i would love for golddigger to come to my house! It would be a great boost for me and my son. We really dont get out much . I have seen the people do it and i got a extra large bra just waiting for the opportunity to overstuff it! Let me tell you , there is plenty of room in there (and some granny panties just in case i need more space! ) thanks! Hope to see you soon!
