Dear Ellen,

I’ll start by saying that I’m a huge fan and I watch your show every day (and when I’m not home to watch, I record it to watch later).

Anyway, I know that you’re always helping people that are down on their luck so I'm now begging for your help.

Here’s a brief overview of my situation … I got laid off in December and have now been out of work almost 8 months. I had to kick my boyfriend out of my house a few months ago because I found out that he has a substance abuse problem (he was stealing my prescription medications that I need for a neck/back injury) so now the only income that I have to support my household is unemployment. I’m struggling to keep my pets fed (2 boxers, 4 cats and 2 lovebirds) as well as food on my table, my car payment and the utilities paid … My credit cards are also maxed out now (I’m scraping to even make the minimum payments that are due). Then to add insult to injury, my taxes are due and my auto insurance is renewing and also due … please, please, please help!

Anything that you could do would be greatly appreciated!

Hey what's up Ellen nothing too much over here in new Orleans but loss of jobs and people stressing I really want to go back to school but with 3 kids a car that never wants to start and no money to buy my books I can't I'm currently out of my job and my husbands plumbing business that he tried to start 2 years ago has no work either I'm writing from my blackberry because I can't afford to get my internet back on first we lost everything from katrina now this we have a 2 year old american bull dog . When we cook we make sure we don't eat all our food so we can feed him the price of dog food is crazy these days we recently found out he has heart worms we trying to do everything we can to get the money but seem not to be working our vet said its going to be 774.00 we just don't have that kind of money specially with no money coming in and 3 children we trying to get the kids there school uniforms I mostly eat Mac n cheese with hotdogs its cheep and filling that way the kids and dog can eat something good something has to give in this economy soon . I was hoping to see you soon but I know theirs a one of a billion chance you'd pick me so I just write to hopefully get your prayers if nothing else my family needs a miracle after katrina losing everthing we own now this we aren't sure how much more we can take ...hopefully our miracle will come sooner than later ..thanks for taking the time to read my posting I appreciate that Ellen may god bless... have a drink for me Ellen I need one or maybe three..

Help please!! My name is Joy and I really need some help right now! I know that I am among thousands and maybe even millions of people that contact you on a daily basis and for some reason my thought process is such that I will be the ONE to stand out to you. I am a married woman with two of my own children and two step children. My family and I moved in with my mother and father to help with medical bills while my mother was on hospice due to breast cancer. My mother passed away last year and ever since we have been struggling. My husband and I got into a car wreck which caused me to have a herniated disc. Since then I have been on and off work as a paramedic and while surgery is now my only option, this will end my career. We not unlike much of the country live from paycheck to beyond paycheck. I have just recently found out I have much much much dental work (about $5000) to be done on my teeth. I am only 35 and because I had no insurance for so long my teeth have rotted away to where I need dentures. We have no money for this. I am not one to beg on things. I am a very proud woman and am very grateful for the wonderful things I have in my life! This last year has been extremely rough on all 9 of our family and all I am asking for is a little break! I don't think any one owes me or anything. Just a small break in bad luck that's all. Please help if you can. I know how generous you are and that you are a very caring woman. I'm not asking for much. I would be forever in your debt.

Please give my sister’s request (copied below) your highest priority. Dealing with my mother on a 24/7 basis is really reeking havoc on my personal health (which isn’t, and wasn’t, in the best shape to begin with - fibromyalgia, sciatica, arthritis of the spine, asthma)). My stress level races out of control on a daily basis. (I’ve moved from Prozac to Cymbalta 60 mg and some days that doesn’t even seem like enough.) Because my mom now is in the wandering stages of the alzheimers I am no longer able to take my sleeping pill at night so that makes for a restless night as well. Well, enough of my sob story. Just please give my sister’s request your best consideration. I know my request is very selfish but helping her will help me which in the long run will help my mother because my tolerance level will be back up to a level that I can cope better.

Hi Ellen: I am a big fan of yours and watch every chance I get. I would like to be considered for a part of your stimulus package, please. I am appealing to your passionate, caring, and giving side. I am faced with quite a dilemma at the time. I am on the verge of losing my job due to transportation problems. For the past 2 weeks my car has been parked on the parking lot at my job because I really don't have the money needed to get it fixed. If you could bring the Gold Digger here so I can try and get the cash out of it and have my car fixed I would really appreciate it. I am helping my daughter out a lot because her husband won't keep his child support payments up on a regular basis. My mother has Alzheimers and my sister depends on me to come there after I get off from work and give her a few hours break because she has to deal with my mom 24/7. Now I am not even able to get to her in the evenings unless I can get a ride with someone. Asking people for favors is literally like pulling teeth. They all claim they are going to do their part until they are needed, then they vanish. I know there are others who probably have worse case scenarios than mine but if you knew what my sister goes through with my mother on a daily basis I think you would really understand why giving her that little bit of relief each day is so important. I really hope to hear from you.

Hi ellen. My names esmeralda. I am a 15 year old girl from tucson az who has gone through a lot then i think i should have and am going through today... I have 2 wounderfull sisters who i live with. My older sister, yomayra(21)... Still stays with my parents and i because loss of her job about a year ago. She still hasnt found one. My little sister angeles(1year 3mo.) also lives with us and doesnt know whats going on. We currently got evicted from our home july 15 of this year and only had a week to move out. 7 months before that we got evicted from our last home of 4 years. Having only my dad working its difficult to support us all. We can barely pay rent yet buy anything for OURSELVES. we are currently living in crouded hotel room (mother sandra, father jose, sisters yomayra and angeles and i ,esmeralda) i would like one of my family members to play gold digger to atlest get one month of rent. Never did i think i would live were i do right now with 4 other people. All i ask is to live a worry free life.

Dear Mrs and Mrs Degeneres,
I hope that I am not to late to enter this contest. We have a family problem. My little brother got arrested and we need a good lawyer and we can't afford one. We got an in town lawyer for four thousand with all of us chipping in. Who ever reads this please don't judge, everyone makes mistakes. He was with the wrong people at the wrong time. It's so hard cause I have five kids and in school. My mom is single parent. My dad passed away of cancer when my little brother was twelve. My other two brothers are also having a hard time paying the payments to the lawyer. It's hard. Ellen I love him so. I pray to the Lord everyday to please give him a second chance and please, please forgive him. We did bail him out and he is in treatment to help himself and to gain more faith in the LORD. But, until then he still has court dates, and its hard because they could snap him away from us. There is another lawyer out of town we can't afford. My mom is trying to sell her 1976 chevy for three thousand to help pay off everything that has piled up on us. My brother has no prior record. Ellen he is a good kid and he is only 19 and they want him to go to prison. He helps all of us, he is very respectfull, and loving towards all of us. He is not what they are putting him out to be. I understand that you hear all these other situations and have to pick one, I just pray that GOD touches your heart for the right one. My mom is having a hard time dealing with this hard situation. My baby brother knows what he did was wrong, and he says "if he has to do time, he has to do time, even though he was drinking, it's no excuse. But he doesn't deserve this punishment. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time, and now he can't take it back. And that he won't be alone, the Lord will take care of him." I have so much faith, but im still so scared. Like I tolled him we love him and we could never judge him or look down on him, because I have sinned in my life and i surely couldn't throw the first stone at him without throwing it at my self. What do we do ellen, we are so scared, sad, hurt. I just got to keep FAITH, FAITH, FAITH. Thank you

I am disabled and Russell is my oldest boy of six wonderful children. He has until Monday to come up with rent or they are throwing him out. He is the first of my family to go to college and with all he has gone thru he still gets on the deans list! Please if you can somehow help him I'll be so thankful!

My name is Stephanie Elam and I am 24 years old. I graduated college in December 2008 with a Radio/Television degree. (want me to be your intern??!! ha) I have a son named Donovan that is almost 9 months old. I gave birth to him in the middle of my last semester in college and still graduated with a's and B's. After I graduated I moved back home with my parents because i was broke. I had to leave my boyfriend. We have been away from eachother for 7 months now and we visit eachother occassionally.
I have not been able to find a job, even with a degree. I live in Elkhart, In. I don't know if you know but this is where the unemployment rate is sometimes at the top of the list for in the country. Obama even came here and spoke. I want to get back to Evansville, In and be with Donovan's father. We want to also get married but he can't afford a ring because he is trying to save money for a place to stay and money to get me down there. My parents have been very helpful but I know they are ready for me to get out of here so they can have their house back. This would mean so much to me.
I also have to start paying back my student loans and I can't. I have been getting by with food stamps and WIC. I don't want to do that anymore. I have been so stressed and try not to show it in front of my son. If you could help me that would be awesome. I would love to have some luck on my side one time.

My name is Ariel and I live in Cincinnati, OH. I just graduated from Miami University (of Ohio) after 5 years of hard work but I can't find a real "big-girl" job in this economy! I had no choice but to move back in with my parents :-(. I used to be a voice major at school and love singing and it would be my dream come true to be able to perform and sing again. My good friend in Reno, NV manages this venue called "Studio On 4th" and she says if I can move out there I have a permanent spot on her stage! (I sang at her mom's wedding). She also has a house with a vacant room for me and a big fenced in yard for my dog, Dukie. My only problem is I can't afford to move out there. I'm working at a dry cleaners and am trying to save to be able to go out there, but its a very slow process at minimum wage. Please consider me to play Gold Digger, it would be such a blessing!!
