Idols on Ellen: Anoop Desai & Lil Rounds!

When the "American Idol" judges saved a contestant a couple of weeks ago, that meant that next time, two of them would be sent home. When the votes were all counted, 21-year-old Anoop Desai and 23-year-old Lil Rounds became the latest contestants to be eliminated.

Anoop, a Chapel Hill, North Carolina native, had consistently impressed the judges throughout his time on the show. Kara DioGuardi once told him that his song "sounded like it could be on the radio." Lil Rounds was also a judges' favorite at first, until she fell a bit out of favor with Simon in the later shows. The Memphis resident and mother of three is nevertheless a likely candidate to have a bright future as a singer.

Hello Ellen,

My name is Uyen; i'm 16 years old, and i come from Vietnam. I'm a huge fan of you and your show, Ellen!

Although your shows are broadcasted daily in my area, they're usually 2 weeks later than the original timing in the US. So, i just saw your Anoop show on Tv recently. Thank you so much for bringing him to the screen, i love him sooooo much. I'm a huge fan of him throughout the American Idol season 8 - i went shouting and screamin' at home when i saw him singing 'always on my mind' on your show:).. I have to say that i was so excited. Ellen, PLEASEEEEE bring him back to your show one more time, i know you're a fan of him too.

Could you please get Anoop back to sing the full version? My mum was very upset when she thought I had prematurely switched the program off on him. I was just as disappointed.

I tape and watch your show everyday and hope to come to see you live one day.

Sorry, I know it's kind of a late comment, but thanks for featuring anoop on your show! =) i hope you can have him on the show again soon, and he can give a full performance for the TV audiences. oh, and maybe you could also feature or encourage your audience to watch his unc clefhangers videos on youtube, they're really awesome and shows what massive talent he has. thanks and much love! =)

Hi Ellen! Anoop's performance on your show seriously blew me away (oh who am I kidding, all his performances blow me away!). You are so awesome for having him. I too would love to see him back on your show. I've turned into a crazy fan girl because of him and if I don't see more of him I will pretty much go nuts (I think I speak for thousands and thousands of girls when I say that!) Anyways, I know you're an Anoop fan so PLEASE try to get him back on the show or play some clips of him. PRETTY PLEASE!!! =D

Thank you for having Anoop Desai on your show. He is one remarkable singer and has won over the hearts of countless people. He has a HUGE fan following and we would all love to see him come back for another interview/performance. If that isn't possible, I humbly request you promote him and his vocal talent on your show. He has hardcore fans all over the world and we are counting down the seconds until he gets a record deal. He is one remarkable talent and we hope you continue to support him on your show. I can't tell you just how much we would appreciate it.

I LOVE YOUR SHOWS. I TRY TO WATCH IT EVERY TIME I GET A CHANCE. I WAS ESPECIALLY EXCITED WHEN I HEARD THAT ANOOP DESAI WAS GOING TO BE ON YOUR SHOW. I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL GETTING AN OUTPATIENT PROCEDURE DONE, AND I WAS UPSET THAT I WOULD MISS ANOOP SINGING. HOWEVER, LUCKY FOR ME I WAS BACK IN THE RECOVERY ROOM TO CATCH HIM SING.
BUT UNFORTUNATELY HE WAS CUT OFF. COULD YOU PLEASE HAVE HIM BACK ON THE SHOW SO THAT HE CAN SING HIS SONG COMPLETELY.

Dear Ellen,
I appreciate your support of Anoop back during the semi-final rounds of American Idol and was glad you had him back on your show following his Idol elimination (although not so happy about that). However, I was disappointed that his song was cut off by the closing credits, especially given the fact the show is not done live. I hope you either invite him back on your show or at least air his song on your show in its entirety.

Thanks for having ANOOP on, but Uhhhh why didn't he get equal amount of air time?? I love the show, the way you treat your guest is amazing, but this seemed rude? I am also a huge Anoop fan and I don't normally watch your show but I wanted to tune in to hear him sing, since he is no longer on American Idol.
I was really disappointed when he got cut-off at the end of your show, there seems to be a conspiracy to not give him the credits that he really deserves. I hope you have him on your show again because I do like the way you interview your guest.

I don't even care that his song got cut short, it's just amazing to see someone who you've known for years be on Ellen. I'm so happy the rest of the world outside of high school girls who are obsessed with the UNC Clef Hangers get to hear his amazing voice!
