Y'all know how much I love animals! Over the weekend, Portia and I were recognized by the Humane Society at the 23rd Genesis Awards! We were joint recipients of the 2009 Wyler Award for our work helping to pass Prop. 2 and making sure all animals are treated right.
I just want to say how much I appreciate it! There are a lot of awards out there, but none more special to me than the Genesis.
Honor Ellen Portia.Respect of who they are; gentle inner beautiful looks because they're fill with love . Appreciate their actions (..include totally vegan).What you all have done impact humans to renew for our next generation(should be part of History)--when we back to the original earth: all mankinds harmony with one another,humans and animals are treated right, universe-enviroment is fresh. Thankfully for Ellen Portia and Team of shows who lead people to be happiest and change.

That's really neat! For those of us that like to eat chicken and eggs and milk and cheese but can give up nasty beef except for tacos and on pizza.. I think humane treatment of animals and not feeding them crap is the way to go .. humane that way as well as how we house them. They need to have open fields and be outside as not everyone is going to be vegetarian or vegan. I hate it when I see videos of people being cruel with cows with a forklift.. that just erks me to no end.. those .. Btasrads(rearrange!). My blood boils at this. The chickens living in cages not being able to turn around. I'm with Oprah. Theirs no reason for inhumane treatment of our food source.. our animals.
Between humane treatment strives and maybe more people becoming vegetarian or vegan... the end of animal suffering... I hope.
I've seen cage free eggs and organic fed chicken eggs... those I'll buy! Hopefully I can do my part since I'm not vegan. I don't want to support cruelty for animals. My freezer has no meat in it... I buy all frozen veggies and today I bought mostly fruits, red and green peppers, asparagus. I may become vegetarian but I don't know about the vegan part.. 'cause I like my eggs and milk. I can't be sure of humane treatment... until I am.. I don't think I'll be buying any beef or chicken... besides it taste kinda grose to me now not having it for awhile and its pricy!. If our country doesn't support terrorist.. then we shouldn't support terror towards animals and humans. ... any living thing!!!!!!
If only they would be nice to the animals. I don't understand why they have to be mean.. why anyone has to be mean to any living thing.. dogs, cats, rabbits.. not just potential food sources.. anything. This world is sick. I don't understand child abuse either.. or any kind of abuse. Something must be wrong in the wiring of the upstairs brain funtioning.... its called hatred, negativity, evil. makes me sick. I don't like these people. They should get punished and shut down.. closed.. fined big time... an example to those that dis-respect life so that people learn its not ok and won't be tolerated.

Congratulations Ellen and Portia on this honor. I think Ms. Wyler would have been so pleased to see it go to you two for all that you did in support of Prop 2.
Congrats on your award, you both certainly deserve it! I am a huge fan, and have been long before you got this show. I am also an animal lover and have been trying to help homeless stray cats in my neighborhood (feeding, spaying, neuturing, placing in homes/shelters). It has been difficult as my resources are limited and the shelters are overburdened. I am taking care of two now that I need to find homes for. Maybe someone in your audience or homeviewer? Just want to put it out there!
Dear Ellen and Portia, Congratulations to both of you! I think you are very special people. Thank you for caring so much for animals, not many people bother to do what you have done.
We just lost our dog "Jolie" 2 weeks ago, she had kidney failure and was so young, almost made it to her forth Birthday which would of been in Sept. She was a rescued dog and we gave her a great life. We miss her so much! I wish you both all the best! Please keep up the good work,
