A very mature little girl. I guess her mom thinks she is a prodigy because this is far from a prodigy. Very adorable little girl though. There are a lot of five year olds that can play much better than this. But her dress is very pretty.
Well, as a Suzuki parent of 2 violinists I will say that what seems really most unusual about Brianna is not so much her musical ability but her level of showmanship and poise. Yes, there are a lot of kids her age or thereabouts playing the Vivaldi concerto at roughly that level. But what I think the uninitiated audience is really responding to is her adult-like animated physical performance, especially her animated facial expressions and bravado. Most kids are just much more inhibited physically when performing, and this is more what sets her apart (and makes for good TV). Too bad they don't give the credit due her teacher and the astonishing Suzuki method. Too much hype imho.
Well, I play the violin, and I in fact did the suziki method for a long time... and i can tell you people up near the top that most six year olds CAN NOT play this song. EVEN IF they took lessons since they were little bitty kids. So stop your yapping. Yes she played well, and yes she needs to add some personality to it, but she IS ONLY 7. Putting in personality takes TIME. and while she did play very well for her age, she should not be considered a prodigy, because if that were the case she would be playing much more advanced music. Just my opinion.
she is soo cute an amazing, but she really needs a new violin, this one is just awful!
but very nice playing, also very musicial playing
She goes to my school!!! Her sister loves me!!! and i bet you haven't seen a 7 year old play that well!!!
It's all out of tone, and I've seen many kids at this age playing a lot more musical! she is definitely not a prodigy, please look out utube, there are way more kids at her age that really play very well!!!!!
I agree that she is a sweet girl, but she is in no way a violin prodigy. The concerto she played is one that most 6 years olds start learning in the Suzuki program, and her sense of pitch and style are in no way advanced for a girl of her age.
I was finally able to see the clip of the show. Briana played very well but is very typical of other Suzuki students. I will say that although she plays well and is very personable she should be left to be herself instead of coaxed and rehearsed on what to say and to wear something appropriate for a tv show not a gala. By the way, how much did the parents pay to get her on as she's not the "7 yr old child prodigy" she plays just like other Suzuki students for those of us that know the program?

Nice playing. But a prodigy??? Check out the Suzuki Method. This is a typical piece played at that age and younger. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Hope she will continue playing and growing as a musician.
Absolutely amazing! Hard to imagine that one so young possesses so much talent, poise, innocence and sweetness. Kudos to you, Brianna, and to your family.
Brianna Rocks!! What a great performance and amazing talent. I am sure your performance will be an inspiration to others. Brianna, you are already a "star" Good Job!

Amazing!!!! Opus 118 was on the news tonight from Harlem. They are good too!!!!
The violin is a beautiful soulful musical stringed instrument!
It is like telling a story!
I love Brianna's story... her young life! and her violin's musical story I heard and look forward to perhaps seeing her years from now or sooner whichever comes first!
Brianna is amazing! The Kahanes should be so proud of her! I am sure she will have an amazing career ahead of her!

I tried to post a comment about giving some credit to the wonderful Suzuki Method on her Youtube video, but apparently her PR people took it down. I guess they don't have access to this site!
