As an a Alumni from Ballou (class of '98)I am so Happy to see the band still going STRONG!!
BEHOLD THE BLUE AND GOLD!!
BIG BAD BALLOU KNIGHTS :)
As an a Alumni from Ballou (class of '97)I am so proud to see the band still going strong which is to be expected! Even now when I am able to catch a parade or when I am able to visit I still get chills just remembering all the good times!! The band works exceptionally hard to remain 1 of the best marching machines in the country year after year. It is one thing to see US doing our thing either in performance or practice but to be apart of it is beyond any explaination or description I could conjur up!!!! WE ARE MORE THAN JUST MUSIC...WE ARE A MOVEMENT!!!
BEHOLD THE BLUE AND GOLD!!
GO KNIGHTS GO!
I am a graduate of Ballou's class of 04" and i couldnt be more proud of Mr. Watson and the entire band staff and members than right now. Keep up the great work everybody!!!
The "instrument grease" Ellen was talking about was probably the spit vavle being emptied...yuck, Sorry George Clooney that they cleaned their instruments on your couch. But that is kinda funny.
that is my school what i think is that they did so good even i was not their i am in the band i love ballou band byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee WITH LOVE XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

I am a proud mother of the Ballou Band. Thank you Ellen for helping them get to the Tournament of Roses. I honor their Band Director and thank him for the hard work he does and how he insteal a since of hard work in the children. I was a Ballou Band member, my daugther was a band member and in the Ballou movie and now my son is currently in the band and on the show. This is great. Thanks again Ellen.
I was so bummed out to have missed them on the Rose Parade because my youngest guy had a tummy bug on New Year's Day and I must have been dealing with one of his 'episodes' when they were on.
I just knew you'd show them though, and to be able to see so much of them was great! I like seeing the stars you interview, but the real people doing fabulous things are always so uplifting! That band director is an amazing man and such a positive presence in the lives of those kids...far more than just a teacher at their school! You're the greatest Ellen!
Ellen, I cannot tell you how I felt to watch this. When I was a kid in band, it was my only out to get out of a small town and go anywhere! This was so exciting and I could remember all the times I felt such a part of something bigger than myself when I was with our marching band. Thanks for making this happen for them, it is a memory that is likely to help these kids in ways you don't even know, perhaps even a prevention effort against drugs and alcohol!
Ellen!!
I absolutely love it... LOVE IT !!! when you have marching bands on!! Love the sound... brass and wind and drums!!! OMG!!!!!
Too bad George wasn't there... he missed a great performing band!!!
Now I have something to look forward to ... Macy's parade.... I hope I don't forget!!!!
They have great sound!
LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!!!
That was so awesome that You were able to help out the Washington marching Band & in giving them the opportunity to participate in the rose parade. Being that i played the clarenet from the 4th grade till a freshman in High School, I enjoyed it very much.
You're such an awesome PERSON only if there where more people in this world like you, it would truely be a better place.
LOVED IT, LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!!!
THANKS AGAIN ELLEN FOR ALL YOU DO...
Always
Suzie Flores
I spent years working with marching groups....and years recovering from it. Seeing Ballou today brought back all the was best and wonderful about working with drums and working with kids! Congrats and good luck to all of them, and thank you, Ellen, for finding these wonderful ways for us to get involved and stay in touch with the things that are important!
I was so excited to see this wonderful band in the Rose Parade. Ellen's story about them and their dedicated Music Director made their performance even more compelling. These young people deserve to be proud. Their hard work and that of their director has really paid off.
ELLEN you make it happen!!! What a gal, thanks for giving us such a great show each and everyday. Nice stories about ordinary people, that is what is all about.
A Cinderalla dream for those kids came true and that band director dont ever give up what you are doing!
